  1. To anybody reading this, the problem seems to be with max 2012. If you wanna rig armor for fallout, use 09 or 10. Im fairly certain this is because the nifscripts for 2012 are still in early development where as 09 an 10 have been out for some time now :)
  2. Isnt that mod from the 'other' fallout mod site? If so you should probs post your problem there. Imo asking people to fix the mod for you is frowned upon, you should use feedback to fix it yourself or contact the mods author directly.
  3. Heres another quick question seeing as how Im perusing a faster rigging route, could I use the skin wrap modifier instead of weight painting the standard way? What kind of results would I get? [Edit] Figured it all out, can rig in under 5 mins now, no weight-painting needed. If the moderators wish to close this thread go for it :)
  4. That was the problem, cheers! Was attempting to using a technique for quick n dirty rigging without weight painting a friend taught me years ago, cant seem to remember the exact steps tho so I think Ill have to use the standard 3ds rigging technique. +1 kudos
  5. 3.7.1? think I nabbed it somewhere on the niftools forum http://niftools.sourceforge.net/forum/ - Jus remember that 3.7.1 is farrr more stable then 3.7.3. You can find 3.7.3 on skyrim nexus, but its super buggy.
  6. Ive attached the one Im currently using, for max 2012 it may or may not work for you. If not try the ones from their site, found here http://sourceforge.net/projects/niftools/files/max_plugins/ If you go with 3ds 2009, choose niftools 3.4.2.   7. Hello all, Im attempting to rig some armor I made, but cannot get the bones to appear when importing an existing .nif so I can use those bones for my armor.   8. Anyone know if its possible to play as a creature in NV? Like the TC, take control command in skyrim.
  9. I do feel that the extent of sexified content on nexus is a bit.. much.. The fact remains that modders will make what they want. If you want something bad enough, pickup blender/3ds max, create a model, uv map that model and rig it. Done. Last week I finished off my modders skill set (after learning how to model) by learning how to uv map, texture and rig. Now I can create any bloody thing I want and get it ingame. Not simply retexturing, porting or ripping, Im talking original creation. Its an amazing feeling. Get busy people ;)
  10. Hello nexus community, What skills/backgrounds would have been needed to create the likes of advanced motercycle mod or enclave commander? Im already famaliar with rigging/swapping new meshes to the bones of vanilla meshes and giving them skin, exporting, opening in nifscope and applying textures. But this is about as advanced as my skills get. So for example, If I were to place an add on a recruitment board saying 'x needed for private project' What would 'x' be and what skills/backgrounds would I need to list in order to hire said 'x' person? Sorry if that sounds confusing, it just helps if I know the industry terms for the skills/backgrounds the afore mentioned very talented modders have so I can then use that information on other more specialised forums.
  11. Ok so I rigged protectrons bones to my mecha mesh, then attached that skeleton to the MF Rideable Prime mod .esp and had some interesting results. Main problem I found was that for some reason, the pelvis mesh was missing ingame. Besides that the mecha moves around great, better then expected and looks good doing it to. A few other problems consist of your view point being located where the pelvis should be which is probs because the scripting placed it there from the MF Rideable Prime mod. The other issue is that when you shoot your weapons in the mecha, the weapons on Prime will fire, this is because I havnt given the mecha any weapons. Been watching Jeremiah and I have to wonder why the masses havnt gathered technical plans to start making new equiptment, not every technical plan in the whole of the united states could have dissapeared. Looms, waterpumps, generators, sewage systems and plumbing. Should be much more of this stuff aorund after several hundred years. Theres also a complete lack of newly constructed buildings. I do like the wasteland as it is, but the cores of towns and citys should be way more populated and totally rebuilt. Buildings from the past wouldnt even be safe to live in after 250 years of negelect, so why they havnt been pulled down and rebuilt is strange, even for the fallout world.
  13. So I jus finished upgrading my blender and python so I can install the nif plugin and everything seemed to install smoothly. I proceeded to model my test mecha mesh. Then I went to import the protectron skeleton.nif and I get this error - http://i54.tinypic.com/ic1cft.jpg Im gusing the path blender is looking in for the scripts for importing kf an nif files is incorrect and thus the error, how can I redirect blender to find the correct scripts path - if thats auctually the problem?

This is for a special video Im posting in a few days, so takes priority over the rest of the voice clips.
