  1. Steel, Im playing with Grimoire 1 currently and would like to suggest avoiding ultra high range spells. The perfect example is Zap. This spell shoots instantly for enormous range and is too powerful for its cost since pretty much every hit is 3x dmg (enemies cant see you from big range). Only slow flying spells should have big range. And be very careful with dmg multipliers. There are other multipliers like SkyRe high elf racial ability or Dark Brotherhood set, which make those spells one shot alot of targets.

  2. After many many hours of testing trying to improve FPS in my heavily modded Skyrim, I realised there is brick wall at some point crossing which will lead to constant stutters and FPS drops. I cant say exact number of mods, but its at about 400. Before hitting this brick wall, game will run well with no severe FPS issues (maybe in very populated areas). If you try to install any mods after reaching the wall, it doesnt matter which mods you add - small patches or new dungeon or follower - even if its just 2 of those it turns from very fluent to almost unplayable due to stutters and FPS drops.

     

    I know it doesnt make sence that few tiny innocent mods could suddenly turn stable game into framerate hell, I didnt want to believe it also. But tests showed exactly that. Looks like there is something similar to memory segments that were fixed by Shensen patch, but related to FPS too.

  3. There is almost unknown mod called Live Forever that revamp death system:

    I really like the idea. Its simple, highly compatible and doesnt give troubles on heavily modded Skyrim like Death Alternative does. But Live Forever has one big problem. When you get fatal blow with lives left, monsters dont go away from you and you stuck in place, so when you revive you often get killed again. Maybe some script wizard could fix this by doing remake of such mod?

    Features Id like to see:

     

    1. You can adjust in MCM how many bonus lives you have before dying permanently. You can also adjust how much % of gold you loose with each bonus life.

    2. When you get fatal blow, instead of reloading, you see kneel animation. When you kneel, you can crawl away. There is no time limit of crawling animation, you decide when to get up. Enemies become non hostile until you stand up (left mouse button).

    3. When you stand up, you loose one bonus life, loose set amount of gold, see a message how many lives you have left. You also have your health, stamina and mana brought back to full, and all the buffs and debuffs (including from mods like Frostfall and RND) removed.

    4. You can fully replenish your bonus lives by renting a room in any tavern and sleeping there for at least 6 hours. Cant replenish lives anywhere outside tavern. When you replenish your lives, you get the message about it.

    5. If you have no bonus lives left, essential status is gone and you die normally (no need to change it since there is a good mod Dead is Dead that will be a great a great addition to our mod).

     

     

     

  4. You dont need to hide HUD completely, you can use Immersive HUD and turn off there everything except your health/stamina/magicka and even them will be on screen only when lower then full.

     

    Im having hardcore Skyrim myself with almost 600 mods installed. I use other death mechanics though. Dead is Dead mod + SkyTweak with enabled bleeding in misc section and 1 additional life. This additional life let me survive death from glitches (I still loose about 40% gold) or oneshots but the feeling pretty much the same as DiD, since penalty is very hursh. If I dont sleep after loosing bonus life, next death is permanent.

     

    I also use SkyRe, Frostfall, Realistic Needs & Diseases, Deadly Combat (imho the best combat mod), Deadly Dragons, tweaked Trade & Barter (economy is really hursh), Expensive Investments, Realistic Room Rental Basic, Tougher Traps, Traps make Noise, OBIS, No starting Spells and many many other mods that add difficulty.

     

    Living Takes Time changes experience quite abit, since everything you do now takes time, up to 4 hours if its crafting a chest. And with hunger/thirst mechanics you have to care for provisions. I tweaked it a lot though and installed RND/Frostfall patch.

     

    Animations mod - prevents abuse of gathering everything on the run. YOu have to invest time to get reagents. Hunterborn is a good addition to it since you now have to butcher meat and skin pelts which takes time.

     

    Also I made health regen veeeeery slowly, and added bandages mechanics. You can craft bandages from linen wraps and they regen 1 hp per second for 45 sec small one, and 2 hp per second for 120 sec - big one.

     

    Also carry weight is limited (from 80 to 120 depending on race +whatever backpack you can find) and you cant carry 100 potions and arrows. 12 potions max, 35 arrows max, 10 poisons max, 20 lockpicks max. You can tweak this in SkyTweak scripts section.

  5. Something is wrong with one of the mods in SteamWorkshop.

    Since you dont have long mod list, I advice turning mods one by one (or in small packs) and test until it launches just fine.
