I got a brand new laptop earlier this week, and Skyrim was one of the first things I installed on it. I fired it up to test as soon as it finished installing, and everything worked fine up to the character creation. I was still setting things up on the new computer, so I didn't test any further than that. At some point after this, I updated my graphics card drivers, and then grabbed all my favourite mods from the Nexus, and tried running Skyrim again (yes, I was an idiot for forgetting that you should only load a couple at a time). After selecting a new game (I didn't save earlier, and deleted the autosave because of reasons), the menu disappeared and nothing seemed to happen for several minutes. I eventually just pulled up the task manager and ended it. In trying to get Skyrim to work again, I've uninstalled it, deleted both the Steam and My Documents directories for the game, tried changing the settings to low (I don't remember what it set itself to before, but it was either High or Ultra High - oddly, it seems to switch between those two when I delete the the related .ini files), and so on. Just before posting this, I tried downloading a save file and loading that. It did move from the main screen to a loading screen, but almost immediately crashed to desktop. I tried changing the settings to low, but it did the same thing. My computer is a Lenovo Ideapad Z710 Spec summary: -Windows 8.1 64-bit -Intel Core i7 4700MQ @ 2.4 GHz -Intel HD Graphics 4600 -Nvidia Geforce GT 745M (this is the only one that shows up in the Graphics Adapter drop-down on the Skyrim launcher) -8GB RAM
