Okay, I know my computer can run the mods I have, because I haven't had any trouble like this before. And I've followed the directions in the Modding Beginner tutorial. I'm using Mod Organizer, LOOT, and Wyre Bash. I get instant CTD when I try to load the vanilla save game I made while following the Modding Beginner tutorial -- a save I've used in the past with no problems. I can load a new game...sort of. It crashes not long after loading. And there's something weird going on. When the screen is loading after choosing a new game, I see eyeballs but no body. Just these strange, floating eyeballs while the screen is loading. It's like there's a problem with the meshes or something in my game. I don't know. I'm stumped. Oh, and I don't think it's something to do with my mods, because I deactivated everything but the unofficial patches, all I'm running is the base game, Dragonborn, Hearthfire, Dawnstar, and the three high res dlcs, in addition to the unofficial patches. Also, I'm unable to take a screenshot to show you what I'm seeing. Could that be a sign of something? I'm thinking maybe it's some sort of setting in my ini files, but I don't know enough about that to know for sure. Thanks in advance for your help. Edit: I think I figured out what went wrong, but it's hard to tell because I did several things, any one of which was the answer. *I completely uninstalled Steam and Skyrim, and I mean completely. I erased all traces of the game's files and Steams's files. *I cleaned every file that LOOT flagged as needing it. I did this again even though I had saved the esps I had previously cleaned. But rather than use those previously cleaned files, I cleaned all the necessary files again from scratch. *I checked the data tab on Mod Organizer to make sure there were no conflicts, and deleted anything that did conflict. *I veeeery carefully followed the Modding Beginner's tutorial here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56894/? *But what I think did the trick was that I went to C/users/myname/appdata/local/skyrim. In that folder I found a text file that had all my old mods listed. These were mods I was no longer using. I deleted that txt file. I don't know if getting rid of that file was the solution, but I think it was. The game was acting (in my mind, at least) like it was trying to connect with something that was no longer there, and I kept getting CTDs. Anyway, for what it's worth, that's what I found. Hope that helps!
