  1. lv000 said it earlier in page 372 but it's ok in my opinion. I like to see the same info once in a while. Saves some folks the time they don't wish to spend looking back through hundreds of pages. Now to reiterate what Camonna Tong said on page 373,"(Note please don't start a gay marriage argument.) "
  2. It'll probably still be possible to make elves who don't look like vampires... these are just the default base faces after all. Plus, custom races. Jokingly: If I can make my High Elf look incredibly Asian, then I think Bethesda has done a fantabulous job with customization. (Hey that kinda rhymed too)
  3. I played your spoiler game. I was bored :P By the way I agree with you about the 3rd person. As long as I can see what I'm doing I don't mind. And if I can switch the orientation then all the better. I noticed a trailer had the camera looking over the char's right while the demo had it centered. I think I'd prefer centered though. Not sure about that trailer but that what it looked like when the character was sneaking through a forest.
  4. Now now. You shouldn't try to come on to someone in the Skyrim Information thread lol. Plenty of fish in Skyrim. Like that Nord female picture in the tavern. Go get em' Dovahkiin.
  5. That's awesome! She is a very talented voice actor!
  6. Ditto, I'm not canceling my CE either. With such loving communities, we'll find a work-around to most of the issues.
  7. See page 289. lv000 said the video will probably be posted at PAX which is in August. And I would wait for the nice version, leaked ones probably aren't as good. I wanna see Todd's character take down that ice dragon in all it's HD glory.
  8. Yeah I'd like to see post MQ gameplay. A lot of stuff that we want but don't get will probably get modified eventually.
  9. I am absolutely LOVING these screenshots! Thank You! All the races look astounding and now I'm just more excited to play this game.
  10. Love this, shows third person sneak attack and dragon slaying finishing move. It's basically the E3 video but shows the parts that you can't see when the camera focuses on the people talking during the demo at E3. Anyways, Skyrim.
  11. I like that feature, it gets rid of a huge list of spells doing about the same thing. So I don't need to favorite a fireball or a flamethrower, I just need to press or hold the appropriate trigger when fire is equipped. Also for the fire trap, it would seem most logical to me if you just shot it at the ground and it made a symbol saying it was a fire trap.
  12. That makes sense especially what the modders can do with the game. You know how they say, "there's an app for that?" Well in The Elder Scrolls, if you don't like it there's probably a mod for that.
  13. I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition a few days ago for PC.
  14. inorite, I'm really thinking/hoping to get the CE pre-order version soon. I just have to go update it. Also, I'm also more excited about the leveling up system. I like to experiment with all the skills so sometimes I find it uncomfortable to have a pre-defined set of skills that I must level up. Sometimes on an Oblivion play-through I just set some of the other skills I want to Apprentice just so I can go with them at the same time I'm doing the major skills.
  15. I love how they got that two-handed axe for taking out the merchant. I like finding unique/stronger items from ordinary folk. The article also seemed to note the facial expressions the characters had like the old lady's expression after the player walked out of her house. I'm not sure if they were trying to be funny but if I could inspire fear in my opponents in the heat of battle and see that expression appear, then that would be pretty cool.
  16. ok, thanks so far see you in two months I thought there was an interview on these forums with Todd, explaining that Skyrim will have similar specs to Oblivion? Either way I think it will be a more power hungry/graphics intensive game. I think you should invest in a desktop PC mate, they will always save you cash in the long run. I paid $2300 AU for the one I built recently and it dominates Witcher 2 everything maxed with UberSampling no problem. Although, I did go a little overboard with mine :s I still have the itch to get a second graphics card as well... lol I think desktops and laptops are starting to grow close in capabilities so it's really a matter of what your primary use for them is. But to me I want to play Skyrim on my Desktop. Since I know it's going to be addicting I probably wouldn't want it on a laptop. One of the biggest advantages to a laptop is portability in my opinion. But if you are a modder, it would seem to be a good idea to have the software on your laptop so you can mod when you're away from home. On a side note, do you think Skyrim is incorporating Fable aspects? Like that dog companion question earlier, it made me think of Fable. I'm just wondering because if the vanilla game doesn't have it, the mods that come after could make it happen. I'm not aiming to upset anyone if they don't like Fable either, I'm just asking an honest question. Really? I knew that laptops were getting better for gaming but would've never have thought they could compete with a top of the range Desktop PC. I think that they will incorporate some companions into the game, whether they be quest based, but more likely mercenaries that you may be able to hire. It doesn't really bother me the, I love just strolling around Tamriel by myself anyway, I find that companions just tend to annoy me. That's just my opinion on the whole laptop vs. desktop ordeal. Laptops are probably going to be more expensive to fix and once one thing breaks, it's basically useless. On the other hand a Desktop can still function without some parts. Just open a side panel and you've got options and easy installation for additional/replacement parts. Anyways, I have hopes that Radiant AI will make the annoying thing about companions better. They were ok in Oblivion (well a modded version was) so hopefully we'll see them become a little more smarter. They already have regular folks doing jobs instead of walking around so that's an improvement already. I can't wait :teehee:

  18. Oh speaking of religion (watch me turn the convo around) how is the religion going to be handled in Skyrim? I'm not too knowledgeable about the beliefs of the people in Skyrim having only played Oblivion. There is certainly going to be Daedra right? But no entrance into Oblivion due to the ending of the Oblivion crisis earlier?
  19. I just found this article on gameinformer.com that talks about the game's mechanics. I started reading at Radiant AI and continued to the end. I found it pretty interesting to say the least so maybe it would be the same for you all. I noticed I was a little late finding it but here you go. http://www.gameinformer.com/games/the_elder_scrolls_v_skyrim/b/xbox360/archive/2011/01/17/the-technology-behind-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim.aspx?PostPageIndex=2
  20. Another thing to note is what happens after the event. To be specific, after you commit a crime, get caught, get out of jail, escape but with a witness who survives, you should have more consequences than a drop in personality points or trust. This should require more than bribing but a higher speech skill than before or distraction to fix. So when you go back, you either have to look different, or come back at a higher sneak skill in order to make the mission a success because you messed up the first time and now it's harder. That means if the lock on the door was Hard, it's now Very Hard or if the Guards that were there the first time are back, they are more alert this time to possible thieves/assassins. I guess what is meant is adaptive AI, where if you mess up the first time, it'll be harder the next time. Although if you don't want to do that you could just simply load up the previous save. But I think it'd be more fun! I feel like it's a lot of extra scripting for each individual guard but if there is a certain amount of them taken into adaptive-ness then it would go a long way for the player's experience. Also to add to reveffect's post: Even if they don't see the body if you succeeded, there should be a certain amount of days where suspicion arises at the absence of the victim to the point where they either find his/her body or repo his/her stuff. What I gathered from Todd Howard in an E3 video is that the economy side isn't a big focus but surely it would be nice if you could buy the vic's house after you kill them! Here is the link to video where I think Todd Howard seems to vaguely mention the economy to answer a question. It's an E3 Gameplay Demo of the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ic6dKnv3WdU&feature=player_embedded Another thing to add is that I don't mainly play the rouge. I prefer to be a spellsword and when I dabbled in the sneaky side I found myself to favor the former style better. So correct me if I said anything that was in Oblivion, I'd appreciate it! Gracias.
  21. lol it may not be a hard choice for some people to break up with their girlfriend/boyfriend. Seeing as how AI will be improved makes the decision clear to me  since that is probably one of the things I like to see most. To me, more clever AI means that if I go to sleep in some hotel for a night on my road to wherever, I'll have to watch my back to see if I'm followed! Especially if there happened to be a witness to my crime who in turn happened to be deeply connected and therefore more angered at my transgression (i.e. murdering a some person's friend). I don't know will provide for that but think of the possibilities! And uh, I just realized that was mean to say the decision is clear to me about breaking up and all. But I mean...Skyrim...will be taking up a lot of my time..hopefully.
  22. Yeah you have a point there. Hence the idea of be who want to be since people have every right to think a certain way. "The closet to reality," as aaroncox put it seems to have more weight now. At least when I think of that phrase I think of people being open-minded and having the option to do what they want provided with the game mechanics to do it(or mods).
  23. I agree that homosexual relationships should be in the game. I think it would attract more people to the community while at the same time keeping "those" people away from it. By those I expect you're referring to people who do not see eye to eye with homosexuality At All. By putting those romances in the game, I think it will greatly benefit itself in the long run. It was just a month ago that New York legalized gay marriages. http://www.gaymarriageresearch.com/gay-marriage-states/ In my opinion the character isn't as defined as Commander Shepard so it should actually be pretty straightforward to implement that kind of relationship option for those that would appreciate and or use it.
  24. I think the new system for Skyrim will work for the players better. Leveling is faster, going from say lvl 30-31 will have more of an effect, and other things like a soft-level cap will probably be more fun for me.
