To make modding much easier just grab SoD Tools (you can find this here: https://www.nexusmods.com/stateofdecay/mods/151?tab=files [make sure you read the SoD Tools guide that comes with the download]) and extract the .pak files that you need to mod from Steam/steamapps/common/State of Decay YOSE/Game (Typically Characters.pak and gamedata.pak but others may be needed for some other mods) After extracting the files you need remove the .pak files that you extracted from the folder ( :excl: Only the files you extracted :excl:) because you don't need them anymore (Trust me :wink:) Replace the .pak files that you just removed from the Game folder with the files that you extracted from each .pak file with SoD Tools and instead of your game using the .pak files it will now use the folders that are now in the Game folder ( .pak was just a way of condensing the game files but made modding much more difficult :confused:) Now all your game files will be easy to access in the game folder and modding will be much faster and easier. You will still have to read the installation steps for each mod but hopefully this helps make everything easier. Have a wonderful day and Happy modding! :smile:
