  1. I've noticed that enemies will usually run for their target in a straight path, even if there is only a fence or rock in between the target and them they will continually run straight into the object for a while until they manage to 'slide' off the object so to speak and reach the target. Is this normal?
  2. Brazil/ the Amazon rainforest....think about it, irradiated jungle creatures/camo super mutants.
  3. http://amito.freehostia.com/Fallout/FO-mods.htm#Index There you go, all you need for realism mods.
  4. I bought the game today from GameStop, didn't preorder, and I still got the Classic bonus pack.
  5. Are there only like 300 mods on F3Underground? Maybe I am going to the wrong page or something but I only see like 200 - 300 total.
  6. There are still trace amounts of radioactivity in Hiroshima and Nagasaki from 70 years ago, and both bombs exploded at about 600m above ground level, AND only about 10% of the nuclear material underwent fission. Not to mention both of the bombs were incredibly weak compared to the average nuke today, much less 60 years from now (When the Fallout 3 war occurred, if I remember correctly. Now take into account that Fat man was a measly 21 kilotons, compared to Tsar Bomba (The most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated), which was 50 megatons TNT. Now if you don't already know, the difference between a kiloton and a megaton is ridiculous, the difference between 21 kilotons and 50 megatons is...crazy. These 'newer' nuclear weapons undergo multiple stages of fission, unlike the bombs dropped on Japan, which creates a huge difference in the fallout generated. In short, if hundreds of todays nuclear weapons went off, then no, the radiation would still be present, in fact, it would probably still be unlivable on the surface, with the exception of the poles.
  7. RH_IronSights. 8. The lunar phases, Add a Moon to the night Sky (and a feint outline during the day) and have it go through the various phases that the real moon goes through (Waxing Crescent, Full, Blood, etc...)

  10. Correction: If I remove the NiZBufferProperty, GECK crashes. If I leave it in, I get the red exclamation point. Can I assume that the red exclamation is actually better than the crash? OR is having the NiZBufferProperty in there actually masking a bigger issue (ie maybe GECK doesn't try to fully load the model or something because it runs into some issue with NiZBufferProperty) and removing that property allows the bigger issue to surface and crash GECK? I went under the NiParticleSystem node and removed each child node one by one with and without the NiZBufferProperty in there. The issues existed even with just the NiParticleSystem parent node. Once I removed the children plus the NiParticleSystem parent node the model worked fine, but without the sparkle effect of course. These nodes are all under a NiBillboardNode btw... dunno if that's bad in Fallout or not. Any ideas? :( Or does anyone know a good tutorial for adding fx in nifskope and I'll try to start from scratch? The red exclamation is better than a crash, it only means your missing a texture, but it can be very annoying. I'm not a modder so I don't understand the rest of the post but if the red exclamation is bothering you try this: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4710
  11. Well, I just got Oblivion and I was wondering which mods are worth getting for a first playthrough. Do you mod Oblivion like you mod Fallout 3? Just curious because if so I should get the hang of it fast as I have had hundreds of hours amassed modding and playing a modded Fallout 3.
  12. Not sure of the exact specs but it is fast enough to handle anything Fallout 3 can throw at me, and I have 4gb of RAM if that helps.
  13. No. Do not try to be a martyr or claim you're asking for something new, many people have made the same request and even more people have made the same reply. There were no flames, some of the posts were a bit blunt but that's what happens when you don't sugar-coat the point you're arguing. In a game like Fallout 3, Realism is both subjective and impractical Feel free to go play/make difficulty increasing mods or survival skills mods or whatever but don't argue they are realistic. Realistic would be emerging from the vaults to find nothing but an irradiated grassland hell where only things with short lifespans can survive because they don't live long enough to get cancers and humanity is all but extinct. Also you would never emerge because the vaults would've been sealed in by the nuclear explosions collapsing the entry tunnels. And to top it off you'd never have been born because mummy and daddy came from the outside. Therefore a truly realistic game would be so bad it''d have no gameplay, and a slightly less realistic one would consist of wandering around for a few ingame days/weeks then dieing. QED, proper 'realism' would suck. lol pretty much this, a war of that magnitude would make everything not under feet of concrete inhospitable. The few survivors of the initial blast would have to live in either the North or South Pole (They most likely wouldn't have been targets), or in a Vault. Forget 1 or 2 rads per second, if we are talking about thousands of nuclear warheads going off around the world you will be dealing with much more than that. The mutations of the kind you see in this game are unrealistic, in reality, anything above ground not destroyed from the blast would suffer for the next few hours from severe Diarrhea, Very high Fever, Vomiting, Shock, Nausea, Electrolyte disturbance, Seizures, Tremors, and finally Ataxia until they are blessed with the sweet reprieve of death.
  14. Just a few ideas that came to mind: Add a few new weapons, I had an idea of a weapon that would look like an alien laser but would instead shoot out a concentrated blast of radiation, sounds interesting. Add a HUGE SuperDuper Mart-like place, I always loved that quest when I got to it, and I know others would love it too. Boss fights sound fun, I love adding mods that put bosses into the game, they always provide a fun expierence. I would buff up the Super Mutants, in the Vanilla game they are far to weak, it is surprising that the BoS has trouble containing them. Along the lines of Aesthetics I was wondering if you could implement the lunar Phases into the game, would be interesting.
  15. Well, seeing as I have become rather bored of the game lately, I will be willing to test out any mods that need testing! Just leave a message here or PM me.
  16. Dang, I really wish I knew how to mod.
  17. Nope, I think it would take a world class eater to finish that.
  18. Just wondering, after seeing some of the amazing stuff people have created with mods I started thinking about something. Would it be possible to send the player to another place like the pokemon universe, or the Star Wars Universe, or perhaps even South Park? It seems like you could just put the NPC on a ship and send him to a place where you recreated the landscape and NPC's to resemble those of the aformentioned places, and have them set off on a series of quests much like the original games. Just a thought really, I don't see this becoming a reality.
  19. I was walking around the Church with the Sniper in it at night, Trying to get a good, undetected shot off of him when I get attacked by 20+ glowing ghouls from behind (MMM), was scary poo.
  20. I would definitely check out the top mods, although go beyond that. Recently I started searching for random texture/quest/misc mods and I have to say, there are ALOT of various, almost unheard of mods out there that are just as good as the top mods, in my opinion.
  21. If you are any good at modding then I suggest you try to improve on it, who knows, it might turn out to be a big hit! AS for the dirty water, boiling would not work, you are not dealing with germ infested water, you are dealing with water teaming to the brim with radiation, you will not solve that problem with heat, thus the 'advanced' purifier is necessary. Now on to the lasers, they do not necessarily have to create heat, although they almost certainly do emit a little, if you are good at modding, I suggest creating a weapon much like a laser that shoots out a highly concentrated blast of radiation, electricity, or even poisonous chemicals, that could produce quite an enjoyable experience.
