In response to post #44207725. #44210065, #44213255 are all replies on the same post. Don't forget that he suffered massive abuse because he was involved in the paid mods fiasco. From fellow mod authors (aka: the people who matter) and many thousands of enraged mod users. He didn't act like a c**, he was treated like a c***, and backed off for a while because of it. You don't matter. (Same as me.) The people who do matter, his fellow mod authors, have in general made good and moved on. There is no need for mod consuming peasants like us to keep regurgitating that fiasco. It contributes nothing, it helps nothing. And saying he isn't a godsend and making him the "Kanye West" of modding is pretty pretentious. How many api's have you developed? How many (quality) mods have you published? How many mod authors hold you in high regard? I know the answer: 0.0. Chesko has every right to be proud of his work. And to take credit for it. Especially since he gladly shares credit when he has other people cooperating, and since he gladly helps out other people when he has the opportunity. Almost everybody who makes quality mods is extremely proud of their work. That's not an attribute unique for Chesko.

In response to post #44169115. #44171160, #44171925, #44172710, #44174990, #44175880, #44180895, #44190425, #44192060, #44197925, #44198580, #44201785, #44212395, #44213285 are all replies on the same post. Why should they? It's not relevant at the moment. And Chesko has already been quite open as to the "why" and "how". Most of which is still accessible and easy to find if you're really that interested. No need for him to regurgitate the same statements over and over. Nobody gained anything from that fiasco. Lot's of people showed the worst side of their personalities, while "spearheading" on both sides of the barricades. He's been able to make amends with the people who matter to him, same as everybody else, and that's really the only thing that matters. It's best to just move on.

What upsets me most is that Bethesda seemingly took no notice of the glaring holes in their service with regards to mod (or mod asset) theft. It should have been a prime consideration from the very first moment they conceptualized Bethnet. They are creators themselves after all. They go to great lengths to protect their own work, so how come they so easily omit the rights/desires of others? What also bothers me is that whenever Beth gets involved with the creative community that's grown around their games these days they usually have a polarizing effect. Even though their intentions usually seem to be 'positive'. There seems to be a massive disconnect here.

Congratulations for being up front and dedicated. Nexus is one of the few sites I'd consider essential. Advertisements are often a nuisance and a security risk. I'd encourage everyone to spend a few dollars/euros on a supporter or premium membership. That way the site will get some revenue and you wont be bothered by ads. The service Nexus provides to mod makers and mod users is well worth that money. With regards to unblocking ads, tracking, and unnecessary flash and javascript, I'd generally advise against it. Not unless you're absolutely sure a site's ad provider(s) are trustworthy. Or unless you really can't afford a membership, but you still really want to support a site.

Working here as well.

Sheesh. I know that. You're right though.

Thx! Let's hope it's resolved soon.

Actually: that's outdated information. And it has been for some time. The actual line needs to be changed to: sResourceDataDirsFinal= Add nothing behind it. It needs to be empty. Which then wouldn't work due to being incomplete. The correct lines for activating archive invalidation in Fallout4Custom.ini, thus enabling custom assets, are: [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal= Source: http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Fallout_4_Mod_Installation Note that I only quoted the sResourceDataDirsFinal line he posted and corrected that.

Normally at: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Fallout4\ Appdata is a hidden folder.

Yup. Forums work fine. Every other website works fine.

Make sure plugins.txt is set to read only before you start the game launcher.

In the future, it may be wise to prevent Steam from doing auto-updates. Do either of the folowing, or both: - Use Steam in off-line mode - In Steam's settings -> downloads, limit the time window in which Steam is allowed to do automatic updates to when the PC is normally off.

Since it's a fresh install. You need to start the game launcher (or start the game through the launcher) once to get the default fallout4.ini. The [Archive] and [Launcher] lines can be added manually, same as the lines you would edit under them.
