  1. Greetings everyone, I'm currently at a dead end as I've been struggling with an issue for the past three days. That's why I'm calling for help from the wisest, most knowledgeable, and experienced inhabitants of Skyrim. The Issue: I've installed Skyrim Legendary Edition, SKSE, Vortex, and the following mods in this load order: # Automatically generated by Vortex Skyrim.esm Update.esm Dawnguard.esm HearthFires.esm Dragonborn.esm Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.esp RAS - Riverwood CharGen.esp Odin - Skyrim Magic Overhaul.esp Wintersun - Faiths of Skyrim.esp random alternate start.esp Apocalypse - The Spell Package.esp Imperious - Races of Skyrim.esp Summermyst - Enchantments of Skyrim.esp Andromeda - Unique Standing Stones of Skyrim.esp SkyUI.esp Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim.esp Since my laptop isn't very powerful, I experience FPS drops in many locations in Skyrim, as well as the "flickering shadow grid" issue on stone surfaces (I know how to fix this via shadow settings). Because of this, I don't use ENB or any other graphical modifications. After trying to make the game more comfortable by modifying the SkyrimPrefs.ini and Skyrim.ini files using Notepad++ (located in Docs/MyGames), these settings apply correctly when I launch the game via the standard SkyrimLauncher.exe. However, these settings are ignored when launching the game through Vortex or skse_loader.exe. Despite clicking "Game Settings Files" in Vortex taking me to the Docs/MyGames directory, I strongly suspect that Vortex or SKSE has its own hidden configuration file, which overrides my settings and forces Ultra settings every time. This is not a case of my personal files being overwritten, since my test setting of 800x600 resolution remains unchanged and only applies when launching via SkyrimLauncher.exe. I also observed the same issue on my second laptop, suggesting that this problem is more widespread than it may seem... I sincerely hope for your help and input, as I'm desperate. Thank you!
