  1. For what it is worth in the current topics for feedback I don't recall seeing the UI beta banner or a survey before but, for me personally was recently in one of those spells of actually playing Skyrim versus modding Skyrim. This could have been when the beta was actively promoted on the site. In which case wouldn't be looking at the site for some time purposefully to avoid temptation to mod more during a playthrough. Depending on how the message for the beta was presented could also easily see myself dismissing the UI beta out of hand as current UI was meeting my needs and not thinking on it any further without understanding the full context. This would especially be true if it presented as an annoying banner pop-up that could be closed or otherwise dismissed from sight. Just recently started looking at the site again because Monster Hunter WIlds release and yay a new UI. Attempted to adapt to using the new site for a bit. Started getting headaches from the color scheme and forced to look at the site in short bursts. Becoming motivated I then looked up information on the skyrimmods reddit leading me to the CSS edits and Stylus and learned how to apply those to a website. Saw the latest news release on the Nexus page and thought I would respond with my feedback on these changes resulting in my participation in the forums suddenly instead of lurking quietly. In general suspect some users may have a bit of a jarring welcome back depending on their modding versus playing habits. Not sure what exactly the developer team is supposed to do though as an attempt to communicate the changes was made. I did see and make note of the preferences settings to default the search to mods and updated accordingly in my preferences which is a positive step in the direction of doing what search used to do for me. The preferences settings for default search view does not change anything at present, I liked list view. Search as a popup window covers much of the current page that sometimes I am also wanting to look at simultaneously. Which also brings up missing the ability to interact with the current page when searching due to the aforementioned popup.
  2. Would have to agree that the updated search is among the reasons it feels to me like I am fighting the site to get to what I want whereas the previous search did what I wanted immediately as a user. I have provided my general feedback in other threads and the popup survey I got on the games page recently for these changes.
  3. Used the site for a good while happily discovering mods and applying them to games. This change has me feeling like I am fighting the website UI and searches to do what was very quick before, find new and updated mods, read brief descriptions, and then if interesting look closer. Missing the comments search as well, usually a good place to research conflicts between mods or things to tweak. Now there is more clicking and scrolling to get to or search for where I am wanting to go. Additionally the site theme changes to background and text are exhausting to look at over a period of time. There's less information on the game pages probably due to the increased space where everything is so far apart now. Also an odd to me priority on collections vs new and updated mods. I've been able resolve most of this with the CSS mod changes to mod the modding web site, thanks to the community for this, helps to make reading site pages not exhausting so quickly. If it was a good user experience change the change itself would be intuitive, have less clicking scrolling to get to where a user is wanting to go, feature parity, and we or at least probably myself at least wouldn't be here talking about it or thinking about the UI/UX in any way. I would much prefer to just be happily discovering mods and applying them to games.
  4. The new UI Aesthetic is not good. Even with the latest post not sure what this design is attempting to improve on when the old default layout was very good. Really never changed off of it as it met my needs to find mods for the games I was interested in quickly. Don't care particularly for the the popular collections on the main game landing page. Much prefer more mods immediately under trending with collections as maybe a tab to select without taking priority away from discovering mods. The site theme colors aren't good when browsing for mods it is exhausting to look at and some mods have rather lengthy text fields with important details that need to be read and understood. At the moment grateful for the community CSS mods to mod the website view in order to browse the website comfortably and with the required information at hand. The new "improved?" search function is unfortunately still present as there is only so much the CSS mods can fix. The previous search function to find mods in a timely manner was much preferable. Generally speaking when on a mod page for a game or on the game page I am searching for other mods in that game and not much else. When on the sites main page I am generally searching for a game or looking to select one of my favorites. In general navigation I've done via the top bar of the website in order to change games, collections, etc. very much not looking to do that when searching.
