The new update is just overall bad IMO.
I got into modding relatively recently, and with the help of exactly one Youtube video I was able to navigate this site and find what I wanted, make sure that it worked with the game version I was using, and deduce how to find new mods I hadn't known I wanted. Everything I needed was easy to find and parse through, made sense, etc. No complaints at all and plenty of praise if I had been asked.
The new layout feels like it's for a company that doesn't want you to know what it's selling. Tons of different headers and sections that more or less lead you to the same place that's not what I wanted to find, difficulty filtering the results so I'm not finding even what I know to look for, making searching through the results I do get harder slower and more annoying, and continued attempts to get me into sections of the site I don't use and aren't useful to me by shoving them in my face and making them big. Also it's ugly. Too much empty space, not enough of what I'm actually on the site for, trying to look like a mobile browser page and overall poorly formatted for laptop/desktop use, etc.
I am genuinely confused as to why you aren't listening to everyone's feedback. Most of us loathe the new layout and have been very clear about what and why. People who have never commented anywhere on this site like me are for all intents crawling out of the woodwork to give you the feedback you asked for. I will be completely unsurprised if someone makes a mod to undo all of the downgrading you've done and it becomes the most downloaded mod relevant to this site. Even just an option to revert the UI to the legacy version would be helpful and would get everyone off your back about detrimentally changing anything you've put your hands on.
If this is the site I found when I started modding, I highly doubt that I would be so into it as I am. As it is, if this isn't fixed or options to change it myself aren't presented, I will very much start looking for a new site to get mods from that isn't actively hostile towards its userbase.
