Well I have both Ren's beauty pack and the race Moonshadow elves. I tried getting Ren's hair to work on the elves because they are much prettier than the race that comes with the beauty pack. But they don't even list when I'm using that race. I heard about a program called TES4Gecko which combines mods together. I downloaded it and tried to combine to the two mods but I don't really understand how to work it. I was wondering if anyone else has already combined these two mods together, or if it isn't to much trouble combine them and then upload it? :3

I downloaded the race Moonshadow Elves ( http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30707 ) I read through the description and saw there is two ways to install it. I normally install mods manually so that is what I did although it didn't work. There is two .esp files to pick from (I don't really know what the difference is between them) so I just picked the first one which 'has a special script' and went to extract that into my Data folder (using WinRAR) It said that it had gone in but then when I went into the my Data folder to check it was there, I couldn't see it. So I then tried again with the other .esp called 'without special script' and it did the same. So I gave up with trying to install it manually and went to do it via OMM. I copied the Moonshadow Elves.omod file and pasted it into \Oblivion\obmm\mods directory.But when I opened OMM it wasn't there. I have both the Eyecandy Body Replacer and CustomRaceFix which is required too. I don't understand where I am going wrong. Also it says on the description about adding the SP Hair pack manually through CS Tool. I don't know what the CS tool is and how it is used. I'm still pretty new to modding but I was pretty sure I had the hang of it. If someone could make a SIMPLE guide (because I'm not good with computers) explaining how to do it using the programs that I have, I'd be very thankful! :)

Well to put it into simple terms, I'll make you a step-by-step :) - First download WinRAR. http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm (That site may look a bit confusing, but just download the top file. 'WinRAR x86 (32 bit) 3.93') - Now open Rens Beauty Pack (or whatever the name was) using WinRAR. Double click the name of the mod, it will lead you to another Folder with the same name. Double click that one too and you should see either a folder called 'Data' (if so just double click again) Or you will have some folders, with names like Textures, Meshes and you should also have a .esp file. (The file will say .esp on the end of it) - You want to highlight all of those folders and that file. Once you have done that there is a bit button at the top that says 'Extract To' - You then want to extract them to your Data folder. So for me the pathway to my Data folder is 'C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data' It may be a little different for you. - Once they are in the Data folder you can close WinRAR. - Start up Oblivion. Press 'Data List' it should then have the name of the mod you're using on the Data List. Simply tick it and then play :)

Okay, and the only reason I was using WinRAR is because the mods I downloaded were .rar files and my boyfriend told me I'd need WinRAR to unzip them. What is the link to your website? :)

I've never used mods before neither on xbox or computer. The only reason I wanted to use mods is because my Wood Elf looks like a dude because of the crappy hair styles that you start with. I then started to look at screen shots with cool new armors which I wanted too. I don't know anything about different file types and I'm not good with computers at all. So yeah I'm lost. I have WinRAR and I downloaded Ren's Hair Mods and a few armors. I some how got the armor to work so that when I logged in I had it in my inventory and it looked really cool :D but then I tried to work the hair mods and when I loaded up Oblivion it said that the Hair Mod was in the Data files, So I put the cross in the box and loaded up the game. Everything was fine until l I went to the SI and noticed that a few people had black and green faces, lol. It didn't bother me much and I used the 'showracemenu' so I could change my hair style. Where it says the hair styles like 'ponytail' it said Ren's Hair and like the hair type but it didn't change on my character. So I logged off the game and then the game screwed up and wouldn't let me play it. So I've uninstalled it and want to start again if someone could give me a REALLY and I mean REALLY basic guide or maybe a video to how to download and use winRAR id be very thankful!

This is not helping at all :( I'm not good with computers, I don't know what type of files do what, I don't understand game talk. Is there not one person that can give me a BASIC run through of what I need to do? x.x

Okay my question now is that, when I download a mod is does not ask me to install it, So how do I bring up the Install Shield so that I can install the mod?

Okay, I understand now but if it doesn't pop-up asking me to install the mods, where would I go to get the install shield up?

Ahh I see where I have been going wrong, But now i'm confused..you're meant to install them? Lol after downloading none of the mods I had downloaded asked me to install o.O It just asked me what i'd like to open the file with so I used Notepad

Umm, I have Mod Manger but I cant find the mods that I have downloaded, they don't appear? Oh and i'm using Windows XP

:( None of them worked..I unzipped the folders and then moved the file into Data..is that right? Because when I loaded Oblivion it wasn't on the tick list for Data Files, then I logged in to check and it didn't work..any help? :(

Thanks for the link, I've downloaded a few armor mods, about to try downloading a hair mod then I'll load up Oblivion to see if they work, fingers crossed :D
