  1. a mod that makes it so NPCs don't aim for the head in every situation. I'm using a lot of realism mods, and every battle tends to end with me either dying instantly from a headshot, or me getting out without a scratch. because NPCs only aim for the head, and don't aim for anything else.
  2. a mod that makes the mangled and crippled idle and walking animations also apply when the user has a weapon out. for some reason, if you have a weapon, the animations dont apply.
  3. what is 'boost'? and what about it is immersion breaking?
  4. (from the fallout wiki) list of instances where the player should be able to intimidate: 25 Speech to convince Trudy to join the fight in Ghost Town Gunfight. 25, 50 and 75 Speech to trick Karl into losing his cool in front of Papa Khan during the quest Oh My Papa. 25 Speech to convince Deputy Beagle in Primm to stay and fight with you after you release him. 30 Speech or 30 Medicine to convince Doc Mitchell to give you three stimpaks before initially leaving his house. Passing both will result in five stimpaks rather than three, Speech will always be the second choice (worth two). 30 Speech to convince Chavez to move on in I Fought the Law. 30 Speech or 6 Intelligence to convince the suspicious merchant at Jean Sky Diving to reveal himself for I Fought the Law. 30 Speech to convince Johnson Nash to give up information for I Fought the Law for free. 30 Speech or pay 200 caps to convince Major Knight at the Mojave Outpost to pardon Meyers for the quest My Kind of Town. 30 Speech to convince Mick to sell you his special weapons at Mick & Ralph's. 35 Speech to convince Milo to start the mission Back in Your Own Backyard. 40 Speech to convince Deputy Beagle in Primm to give you the information before you release him. 40 Speech to convince each of the Misfits to be more of a "team player" in Flags of Our Foul-Ups. 40 Speech to convince Jane in Freeside to give something else of value towards her debt in quest Debt Collector. 40 Speech to convince Thomas Hildern to improve the offered reward in There Stands the Grass. (available after talking to Dr. Williams and returning to confront Hildern) 45 Speech to convince Jessup to release the hostages in Boulder City. 50 Speech to convince Tomas to get rid of his necklace. 50 Speech or the Black Widow perk to convince Chris Haversam that he's human in Come Fly With Me. (No caps req. with the perk) 50 Speech or the Lady Killer perk to obtain thrust controllers for 250 caps from Old Lady Gibson for Come Fly With Me. 50 Speech to convince Ralph to craft you a counterfeit passport for The Strip at a cost of 500 caps. 50 Speech to get Loyal to give you the sonic emitter in Ant Misbehavin'. 53 Speech to convice Big Sal to release Troike from his contract. 55 Speech to get the Think tanks to realize that you are aware of their conversation. Gametitle-FNV OWB. 55 Speech to get a human flesh alternative from Philippe in Beyond the Beef. 60 Speech to convince Keith to show you how he's cheating at Caravan. 60 Speech to convince Benny to head immediately to The Tops presidential suite without his bodyguards. 64 Speech to convince all Fiends inside of Vault 3 that you are a Great Khan carrier so they will not attack you. 65 Speech to convince the gambler to a weapons check while guarding the front of the Silver Rushduring Birds of a Feather. 65 Speech to convince Norton outside of Jacobstown to leave the mutants alone in the quest Unfriendly Persuasion. 66 Speech to convince Jack in the Red Rock Drug Lab to make medicinal chems. 75 Speech to convince the Strange Man during the Birds of a Feather quest to pay you for running chems. 75 Speech to convince Alice McLafferty to give Janet her wages. 80 Speech or good Karma to convince Legate Lanius to fight you one-on-one. 80 Speech in order to convince Hector to tell you what he knows about Corporal White during the questThe White Wash. 90 Speech to convince Joshua Graham not to kill Salt-Upon-Wounds during the end of Crush the White Legs. 95 Speech to talk your way out of combat after bringing back the objective in I Could Make You Care and then leaving the Brotherhood of Steel base. 100 Speech to convince Lee Oliver to leave Hoover Dam without fighting you during the quest Veni, Vidi, Vici.
  5. Yeah, but I want most speech checks to be passable using intimidation. But this shouldn't work for everything, but it should work in most situations. Like where appropriate, you can't use intimidation to 'lie', you can't intimidate certain characters, like Lanius, Caesar, general Oliver, or the NCR president. But most NPCs you should be able to intimidate. Like at the start of the game, there is a speech check to convince doc Mitchell to give you more stimpaks, minor checks like that should be passable with intimidation.
  6. a mod that gives you the ability to intimidate and coerce people into doing what you want, and get them to agree with you from a position of authority. it should also be based on your character's level, combined with the total value of all the items you currently have equipped.
  7. what kind of modding experience do you have? your nexus profile has 0 mods on it, I'm curious as to what roles you can fill
  8. I know this is off topic, and it may seem like a stupid question, but are references in scripts self contained? Like, if I put a set command in a script. Will every script that uses the reference that I just 'set', use what I have 'set' it as? Or if I put an 'if' statement in a script, and the qualifications of the 'if' statement is met in an actor, will every actor also be affected by the effects of the 'if' statement if they have the script on them too even if they don't meet the qualifications of it?
  9. devin, what unit of measurement does the IMapMarkerRevealDistance gamesetting use?
  10. what about a way to check if the nearest actor is close enough to start dialog? and a way to check if the player has their crosshair on nearest actor?
  11. a mod that makes it so if the player has a weapon out, and they have had that weapon out for like 10 seconds or so, random NPCs who also have weapons will turn hostile and attack you
  12. I need a function that returns the reference of the nearest actor to the player, but I have no idea what it is
  13. I already tried that. open this mod up in NVedit and see how it works: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43351/?
  14. is there a way to temporarily stop an actor from firing their weapon without changing their combat AI?
  15. is there a command that completely resets an NPC's inventory so they immediately equip the best weapons and armor they have, even during combat? because I'm having an issue where I can't get the NPC to equip their best weapon during combat, and adding and removing a high value item to their inventory doesn't seem to work
  16. is there a way for a script to give you a speech skill boost, but only when the player is speaking to a specific actor, but without having to change the existing speech checks that actor has and without putting a script on the actor specifically?
  17. a common misconception about the legion is they make all women slaves, but they don't know that regular women and girls native to Arizona are rarely seen as slaves (they are looked down on and have less rights though, but they aren't as mistreated as much as you would think), most of the slaves you see are captured from the legion's enemies and are prisoners of war, they don't have as many male slaves because most of the male slaves become soldiers eventually, and they tend to be more rebellious which is why they are more often executed instead of being kept as slaves, because they're not worth the trouble. we should add freed female civilians to the game to reflect this. However, I'm not to saying the legion isn't misogynistic, but they aren't as misogynistic as most people think. And I don't want that misogyny to be ignored in this mod, it should be acknowledged as being less than what most people think, but still present. I don't want the misogyny removed or going unknowledged because that would make this mod non-lore friendly and inconsistent with a lot of posters and a whole ton of dialog in the game.
  18. I had a crack at making a script for this, although I haven't tested it yet. any thoughts on the script, devin? scn BlobsSurvivalBasedNavigationScript float SurvivalTimer short SurvivalChecked ref PCSurvival ref PCPerception ref CompassDistance ref DiscoverDistance begin GameMode if Survivalchecked == 0 set SurvivalTimer to 20 set SurvivalCheck to 1 set PCPerception to player.getav perception set PCSurvival to player.getav survival set CompassDistance to ( ( PCSurvival + ( PCPerception * 10 ) ) * 10 ) set Discoverdistance to ( PCSurvival * 30 ) SetNumaricGameSetting IMapMarkerRevealDistance to DiscoverDistance SetNumaricGameSetting IMapMarkerVisibleDistance to CompassDistance else if SurvivalTimer > 0 set SurvivalTimer to ( SurvivalTimer - getSecondsPassed ) else set PCPerception to player.getav perception set PCSurvival to player.getav survival set CompassDistance to ( ( PCSurvival + ( PCPerception * 10 ) ) * 10 ) set DiscoverDistance to ( PCSurvival * 30 ) SetNumaricGameSetting IMapMarkerRevealDistance to DiscoverDistance SetNumaricGameSetting IMapMarkerVisibleDistance to CompassDistance endif endif end
  19. I agree, the lack of outlander armor on the New Vegas nexus is downright disturbing.Who in their right mind wouldn't want to look this fly?I'll tell you who, those Redoran S'witshttp://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130625195823/elderscrolls/images/5/50/ImpLegionMorro.jpg
  20. That could be a bit of a stretch, how about a mod that makes legion recruits less rude and insulting, and puts various traders and paid worker legion civilians in the legion camps that sing the legion's praises how things are back home. That would do the trick. Because completely recreating the legion's territory from van buren would truly be a time consuming task and is far exceeding the scope of how big this mod should be. http://i.imgur.com/XnigEHa.jpg
  21. nevermind, I've figured it out. it will return 1 if the weapon is in the actor's hand, even before the animation finishes.
  22. no, I don't mean the distance before you see the marker on the compass, but how far you have to be before the "you have discovered X" message pops up and you get the XP boost
  23. That would be amazing. I'm pretty sure that alone would cause a lot of players to side against the NCR. Perhaps some bureaucratic forms to fill in when they first enter the embassy and camp McCarren? And depending on the player's reputation and speech skill, or maybe you insult the clerk purposefully, it could take much longer for you to complete the forms, or the desk clerk would refuse to deal with you and you can never enter the area.
