  1. I'm working on a floating breastplate for a monster of mine... The problem is... while I can sculpt stuff from a rectangular prism... there are times where I need to have an image (.jpg or .bmp for example) converted to a plane and then given another dimension so I can do stuff with it. This is the shape... This is what I mean by adding a dimension Normally, I start with a prism/sphere and delete/move vertices until I get the desired shape... but I dislike doing this since It is terribly time consuming... 3D studio's extrude tool confuses me a little bit... but it sort of is what I want the general function to do. There has to be an easy way to do this... and I'm a bit dumbfounded at how I can't seem to find it @_@ I'm using 3DS Max... though I don't mind using blender. The first issue is importing the shape into a 2D plane.... The second would be extruding it so it is now 3d dimensional... which hopefully be easy (3D studio has an extrude tool) I've read something about using the pen tool in Illustrator or Photoshop to create 2D vertices... I could use a base image and try to trace it with the pen tool... if that helps anything... but I'm kind of lost @_@ Thank you for the help in advance! :)
  2. All Autodesk applications can export their files as .obj files. Blender can import .obj files, I recommend .obj files over .fbx since it supports a higher number of vertices.
  3. Pay particular attention to the "unified HUD project" link in the bottom of that link...
  4. http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Resources_for_3D_Modeling This will help you the most.
  5. You can Pyffi nehrim's meshes, the dungeons, the architecture, the rocks, etc. to improve performance. Operation optimization and Pyffi do the same thing, with pyffi being the better of the two. I think you can just change the master in Streamline to nehrim... I believe there is already a working thread on the nehrim forums on this subject.
  6. Pyffi to optimize meshes Tes4Edit to quickly analyze plugins and to clean. Wyre Bash for distribution Oblivion Mod Manager for distribution (BSA, OMODs, and so on...) Blender <-- only if you need to create your own meshes (3ds Max is even better) A .dds editor (photoshop for example), only if you need to create your own textures. Also, Do not upload silent voice files in the main file! >.< Most of us can use OBSE and use Ely's Universal Silent Voice... you are just contributing to more bandwidth use :P Instead, use an optional download for voice files. Do not upload distantlod! :( We can use Tes4LOD Gen for that. Coblize! :P Clean your plugins! >.<
  7. I love DoTs... most of the time. During the early game I spend all my time running around, buying and snipping ingredients. However, I find that whenever I use these DoTs (damage health, fire damage... etc), whether it be spell or potion, if the DoT kills the individual, I do not get credit for it. For instance, I was snooping around Pell's Gate. Wanting to join the Dark Brotherhood, poison an arrow and shoot someone. The shot was weak and only took off a sliver of health, but the poison did the rest. But, I did not get the murder count. I did not get a "Someone was watching you..." message. (I checked this again when I slept). So I reloaded and killed the same person with solely a bow, no enchantments, no potions, no fancy unicorns... only then did I get the kill count. Is there a mod that modifies that behavior so that I can get the kill count for poison? For reference, "http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Poison" Poisons are not considered to originate with the player (or whoever used the poison). Killing someone with poison does not count as murder--as far as the witnesses are concerned, the victim had a heart attack and died.
  8. Hey guys, I'm having a lot of trouble tweaking the spell names with wyre bash. I want to have the game automatically name spells in rank like so... "Flare I, Flare II, Flare III, Flare IV, Flare V..." and so on. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to get it to function correctly. The thing is, I set it correctly before using SM and LAME and MM, but something is off now... Note, the last time I used this function, was before wyre updated it (<291) (this version still requires python however), so perhaps there is a bug there? I doubt it, and the problem is probably on my side. I am currently using Wyre bash 291. I cannot try to download an older version however since I cannot find it online. I may have put this in the wrong section of the forums (perhaps this belongs in Mod troubleshooting?). If a moderator would like to move it there, please do so, EDIT: Looking at the bash log, it seems that SM isn't being imported into the tweak names function, despite it's tag. Could this be a reason? • Spells: 755 • Oblivion.esm: 353 • bgMagicEV.esp: 397 • bgIntegrationEV.esp: 5
  9. I'm looking at the master's for Cobl's item interchange for FCOM and notice that one of the possible mods it can filter is Persuasion Overhaul. What I am wondering is... I don't use the regular PO, I use PO - LITE, and thus the name of the esps are different. (On the list of masters for Item Interchange, it is just the normal PO) Will it break my game if I rename PO - Lite to PO or change the master name in Item interchange to PO- lite? Or is Item Interchange dependent on a feature in the the full version? From what I understand, Item interchange will just change the "gifts" that are given to you when you reach 100 at speechcraft, and both the full PO and the Lite PO have this feature. Would there be a problem? EDIT: Everything is fine, nevermind. Gift function still works.
  10. ParasiteX New Vampires is a great mod and is capable with many of the overhauls (OOO/FCOM), provided that you use the plug-in option that changes the vampire abilities of only you and none of the NPCs. (OOO will overhaul the NPC vampires, and anything that changes NPC vampires also will be incompatible) I used LTD's Vampire Overhaul before too, but I find that switching between "monster" mode, where your abilities were activated and "normal mode" were too immersion breaking.
