Okay so I found that (in my opinion) enemy mutations were a ridiculous idea. Somehow an average human raider about to meet their end magically sprouts more life and is harder to kill. Can there be a way to stop this all together? It just doesnt feel right to me to have ingame.

Hi guys and gals, Ive been goofing off on the Unreal 4 engine and something sprung up in my mind i was curious about. Is it possible to scale up the land to add more landmass which can be used for new areas? I am not that knowledgeable with the GECK or programming at all for that matter so this is a bit of a dream over a plausible idea. The only issue i can think of is that everything will not be correctly placed, roads go throught the land etc. that or system cant handle it and if anything uses coords to navigate it will mess it up. any thoughts?

Idea for spouse revival, not done *spoiler!*

good idea. always reasons to travel the land you have already explored at least once more! might make for good re-exploration. -
Hey everyone, got an idea that I feel truly ties in with the storyline and most certainly has potential! This will revolve around your wife (or husband) being shot at the start of the game. Some pointers ingame even give a possibility it was considered at some point. This is about reviving them as your game progresses. If you can create teleporters im sure you can revive someone no doubt Please bear with me on this! its a lenghty and detailed post if you are interested in understanding the idea it might take a bit of reading and patience. there is no TLDR, id like my entire post to be read thanks :D This will set up for some level of realism, what ive noticed. (im using nora as the example) She was shot in the shoulder, which i just checked ingame and see it to be true, quite a few people have lived from far worse wounds. likely fell unconcious as body goes into shock due to instant damage to her body. She was refrozen right after which means she after 60 years (i think?) her body is still in the exact condition it was in when it all happened. The monitor showing statuses say deceased on all but hers, which says "Unknown" giving an indication possibly her injury didnt quite put her to death. Kellogs memories show he was indeed troubled by his past and that he couldnt save his wife and child. (i havnt looked into the details) but clearly shows remorse and when confronted he doesnt act of a heartless hitman as depicted (still blew his brains out) So possibly he knocked her out but still held demeanor to ensure the institute wouldnt get rid of him. The idea of revival would follow as suggested below. Requirements- Some degree of story exploration would be required as a lot of parts and unique medicines are needed to ensure a healthy revival. ***This again is an idea and some parts might be difficult to do like cutscenes and such but this is just the FULL idea nothing cut out. Im sure a final product wont be as nice as this one.*** Quest as follows. 1. Starts at The Third Rail 1.1 Must be alone, no companions not even Dogmeat 1.2 Sit down at bar, order drink (Special dialogue, not barter) 1.3 Must have Wedding Ring in inventory 1.4 Must be between 8 P.M. and 2 A.M. 1.5 Buy three drinks 1.6 Looks at Wedding Ring, then someone approaches and sits next to you. 1.7 Long conversation about what happened, man introduces himself as a medicinal expert 1.8 Asks if you want to try to revive. if no, no progression, if yes- to 2.0 2.0 Meet doctor at vault 111, inspects and claims possibility of revival. 2.1 Gives player a list of things he cannot get as he is not equipped for the wasteland. 2.2 *This area needs expansion of what items* Find items to to build a movable cryogenic pod to move wife to his underground facility 2.3 *This area needs expansion of what areas* (Multiple areas containing proper parts and devices) 2.3a Need Cait's quest to be completed to obtain medicine from the vault. 2.3b FMS Northern Star for various parts relating to monitoring health progression 2.3c Search Hospitals for scrap parts to build new items 2.3d Acquire blood packs, syringes and bottles of water. 3.0 Build a modified Cryogenic pod capable of transportation. 3.1 Find doctor and pod with wife at underground facility. 3.2 Find more parts to build revival chamber, decompress and restart vitals safely. 3.3 Restart wife under medically induced coma, healing and treating wound until stable to wake up. 3.4 Safely revived, main character explains everything that has happened 3.5 Wife is now a companion.

if there would be a mod in the future about big mountain, by visiting its past, i have to wonder how it would play out since the main areas were just caves, or would this be a mod pertaining to the events right after the vaporization? if before i wonder if it was a cave system, or if it was more like a massive underground complex, no tunnels just a huge carved out inside. anyhow, i would think the rebuilding of the crater would be awesome, not sure if there are pre-war models for most of the stuff there. i think reprogramming the contstruction drones would be badass, every few ingame days the mountain cleans up a little more (Is this possible or is it too much to possibly program?) maybe a quest that uncovers blueprints that can be loaded into the dome that send signals to the workers. also i just found this on the fallout gamepedia, this seems legit, ill post the link with this as well When customers would come to the think tank for their services, they would create specialized technology for them. However if their town or city was just right they would used it as a controlled experiment. Only on occasion, Big MT had to get permission in order to secure financial assistance for the technology they were developing. Alternatively, the company used detained communists to populate their own mock cities. However, it was not enough: they needed even more laboratory space and tested their experiments on unsuspecting Americans and letting them progress in isolated small towns while Big MT observed.[1] Their partnership with Vault-Tec Industries is in the context of outsourcing laboratory space. Big MT needed "test cities" to test in real time their products in (relatively) controlled environments. Knowing the Vault-Tec was better at it than them, they together conducted experiments with Vault 22, sending the botanists the Beauveria mordicana fungus, among other supplies.[2] I also remember the Botanical Gardens at the end credits said it helped infect a vault before the war indicating its partnership with vault tec. heres the link http://fallout.gamepedia.com/Big_MT_%28company%29 i found this while typing the previous ideas. -

the point that big mountain created technology far more superior to anything the military or civs have seen at all could possibly prove their part it the engineering of a vault. limited sources on these points would either make it non canon no matter what we do, or, allow us the freedom to add things that could be a viable plot extension. this was simply an idea .-. didnt think id get shot down for it lol. -

also it doesnt have to be a vault. can be another facility, maybe a third think tank style dome underground. -

Well even though it doesnt say Vault Tec worked with Big Mountain you cant exactly say they didnt do some kind of dealings in the past. after all big mountain did infact contract outside to third parties to generate revenue The Y-0 Facility i imagine is the weapons testing research facility since it is what caused the mountain to vaporize as said here http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Y-0_research_center that at least i imagine is infact the weapons testing facility judging by what happened -
imagine being able to use some vehicles
maybemeandyou replied to maybemeandyou's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Well if you think about a nuclear powered car the weight of these cars would be enourmous due to the lead shielding around the engine so despite they would or could move fast they are bulky like a 60s cadillac. take 200 years of weathering and you have a car thats drivable but not perfect. doesnt go that fast but is quicker than any type of running you would do. the speed of the car can be set to any amount to be fair to the map size but still offer an alternative. also use tools (scrap) to repair some red rocket stops to refuel coolant (not gas, its nuclear) possible yes? also consider the weight of these cars would make good for plowing s#*! out of the way. -

Yep, currently the map doesn't really need a car. Car would be driving too fast (or you kept getting stuck). I dont even have enough time spent on auto run because even autorun sometimes is too much. I either get to places so fast or I end up navigating manually. A tall power armor like vehicle (with legs) that we can be either the driver or gunner, can be fun. But Bethesda may just mess up the autopiilot (or the companion driving). And we end up micro directing them (thus better if we drive). consider the fact that if someone has the ability to make a car usable ingame (and very well scripted with full physics), you might think they would make everything else in the world react to the car, like bushes and small branches disintegrate when run over (using the word disintegrate loosely), other cars get plowed out of the way, shrivled up trees, fences, light poles, makeshift stuff is all moveable, not a static object but a rigid object with actual properties that react when hit. in short, its completely doable, people should stop nay saying something just because its a difficult venture. -

Okay guys I have an entire questline for BM, might have some juice in it. This will take place following the events of big mountain. The digsite where the drone foreman is located there will be an explosion, exposing a cave, once inside the cave you will uncover a greater secret about Big Mountain, a Vault. This vault is vault 213. opening it up will trigger a new questline that allows you to uncover mysteries of big mountain that even the stations could not have recorded, this vault will have a ghoulified member of big mountains original crew, still wandering around the vault. This ghoul will explain that big mountains reactors powering the think tank will detonate and destroy everything unless they are restored to proper functional order. also you can use a machine that the ghoul had kept up maintenance on allowing you to revisit big mountain in its prime. Revisiting big mountain will uncover secrets that were lost to weathering and time such as secret passages and access codes. Following this you can open doors to different facilities which might be expanded quite a bit, unlocking new items and areas as you progress the story line. for this matter id say you can visit the vr pod anytime you want, its not linear but totally free so you dont actually have to find all the secrets of the old big mountain to finish the story line. you have a choice to let the think tank crumble and implode on itself shutting down all electricity in bm, or fixing it to optimal power. there are sidequests where you can restore parts of the research centers by reprogramming the construction drones. failure to restore the reactors will make the mountain permanantly shut down of all electical things making every place using powered doors inacessable. also fix the weapons testing research facility. thoughts? -
Fixing the game vs tweaking the game

fallout 3 took place in dc so i imagine thats why fo2 looked better than 3. dc was a target for multiple warheads. rather than all of the west coast -

honestly its fallout, "game of infinite possibility" as they seem to sell us out on. shame though, i really thought we were getting vehicles in this game (and a larger map ffs). but if and when the geck is released i think itll be doable to add functional tanks and cars. i mean you can go through the corvega factory and loot engine parts I REALLY THOUGHT YOU COULD ASSEMBLE ONE D:
