  1. I was wondering if there was a guide somewhere out there for doing really simple armor edits. All I want to do, for instance, is delete the pauldrons and guantlets from the dark seducer reward. Is it possible to download one program, open up the nif file, and delete at will?
  2. just open up the construction set, go to gameplay then settings, scroll down and starting at fDamagePowerAttackBackBonus theres about 10 different options you can adjust for the damage. i personally doubled the current damage skill multiplier and the damage weapon multiplier then beefed up the blocking (found higher up under fblock) just to make it a bit more interesting.

  4. what do you mean by non-sexy? if you just mean its not sexually explicit, then like its been stated that has way more to do with the body and clothing then the custom race itself. or do you mean one that wasn't designed to be attractive in anyway, and instead is some cool alien race or something?
  5. thanks alot, that was a life saver. i never even thought about closing the dialog boxes lol. i absolutely hate all of the little nitpicking rules that you have to remember in cs. and that other trick is pretty useful to. i can remember a couple of times when that would have come in handy, i'll definitely remember it oh, and while we're on the subject of markers, is there a reason why i can't seem to drag and drop the travel marker into my render screen?

I'm attempting to make a mod right now (just simple, floating house, no meshes or anything) and i'm using the persistent referencing and "select reference in render window) but i just can't get it to work most of the time and its very, very annoying. occasionally it will work beautifully but about 70 percent of the time, the door marker shows but i can't move it at all and the game doesn't recognize it (the door is just a useless object that does nothing). other times, it will look like it worked in cs (i can position the marker, etc) but again, it doesn't work in the game. what could i possibly be doing wrong? i've tried different doors, checking the teleport and persistent referencing boxes in various orders, and still nothing.

  8. ok i think i only need ONE more question: i've saved everything properly and it appears to be working. the only problem is... well i'm not quite sure how to find it. i suppose i could learn how to script it to appear somewhere or something, but that seems a bit much. so i tried using the console command, and after about a dozen attempts to get the punctuation and spacing JUST right, i realized that i couldn't add any items because according to the internet, the id that appears in CS (ex. weapglassdagger) isn't the actual id the console reads, which is actually that series of random numbers. so how exactly do i find my create item's id? EDIT: ok nvm i figured out how to just place it in the world. once again, thanks for your help
  9. yes, i did give it a name lol. and your right, im running windows 7 so should i just move my entire oblivion to games/oblivion? thanks for all the help btw
  10. ok i did everything up to where i saved it as an esp file in the oblivion/data directory, but when i close CS, obmm doesn't read any new esp file. i also don't see it in the data folder either. the only place i does show up is when i go to CS/file/date, then it shows up and i can open it in CS, but i can't get the game to read it. did i save it in the wrong place or something?

This is a really simple question, but i literally just want to find the standard glass or dwarven dagger so i can alter it's weight, reach, damage, and health so i have a weapon worth using with "throw any weapon". I'm guessing that its got something to do with tes construction set, but i've been messing around with it and searching the net and i have no clue how to do it. is this something that someone could show me really quickly or is it something that requires extensive scripting knowledge or something?
  12. no, i wasn't worried about that. it was just annoying that instead of properly overwriting or "adding" stuff, copying and pasting would just make a smaller data folder inside the data folder or a smaller mesh folder inside oblivion's mesh folder
  13. so what your saying is that in order for it it "merge" properly, then i should drag files and folders one level below the data folder into the data folder? so that means that i drag meshes, textures, sound, shaders, etc into the data folder and hypothetically, i would drag say, "fx" and "voice" into the sound folder (since their the level of folders below oblivion's sound)? that makes more sense and was probably why i had more success earlier (before i got lazy and just tried to drag the data folder into the data folder). thanks
  14. Does it matter if the "data" or "meshes" etc folders copy or merges? For instance, if i extract a "data" folder from the mod download and simply copy it onto oblivion's "data" folder, then sometimes it successfully merges (the mesh folder merges with oblivion's mesh folder, the textures with oblivion's textures, etc) and other times all it does is create a "data" folder in oblivion's "data" folder. Is there something that causes it to behave either way? and in the past, if all it did was make a new data subfolder, then i'd go in an tediously move all of the files into oblivion's subfolders (meshes, textures, characters, 01_male, etc) I was wondering if i have to do that or will the game read the folder by itself?
  15. Why on earth would they condemn it? I thought the mod would have required a copy of morrowind, meaning that it would if anything, get them more sales. I remember i was planning on buying morrowind when i heard of that mod, but now i'm never going to touch it because i'm to used to oblivion graphics
  16. is there a "headshot" mod for marksman? that, imo, would make a lot more sense for a damage multiplier or even one hit one kill (on non "boss" type monsters, of course) than getting a multiplier for hitting someone in sneak.
