If you were to add a mod to it, sure. I did a quick check on NVNexus and I didn't see anything though, but it might be covered under a larger mod

It worked, once, but only when there was no mods. (1.0 stock) What I should have said was Bethesda's game (shivering isles/KOTN, 1.20416) Also, don't presume I didn't follow the whole thing to the letter, because I made sure I did.

In a fit of rage I decided to do what Bben's uninstall guide says, and to which I'd like to say my game wouldn't even start up for the default game afterwards, so quite frankly unless someone's got an idea for a fix I've given up for my sanity.

Then stop playing on a laptop w/ a super low resolution & terrible graphics card... No other way. I'm suprised you could even start Oblivion.

The last thing I did was install shivering isles' patch - I actually tried using the unofficial shivering isles patch and it actually crashes the game.

The problem with that is that I've rather *ignored* shivering isles for quite a while. Last I checked I've gone through 60-70 days. One of the first things that was setup was shivering isles. Edit : I tried removing, saving, reactivating, and waiting a good 3 weeks between people and places, nothing.

You're using a CRT, right? What's your maximum refresh rate, and what resolution are you running at?

I've enabled the mod, and here's my load order. OT Another problem that I've always had is that no matter what Oblivion always has the top left show up with the windows mouse

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20516 Try using BOSS, it should fix it. A mod may cause major conflicts with another one based on startup (in my experience) and using BOSS should smooth out the issues there.
