  1. I've been enjoying some of the smaller things in NV, such as the blackjack tables, but my true love in the game is the reloading benches(partially because I make my own ammo in reality for competiton shooting).

Now I'm really surprised - the .38 Special rounds can only be found or bought, not crafted. This surprised me because the case for a .38 special is the exact same case as a .357 magnum round - in fact, both are basically the same round though the .357 mag is, of course, more powerful.

Is it possible to add .38 Special to the list of craft-able ammo types?

If you were to add a mod to it, sure.

I did a quick check on NVNexus and I didn't see anything though, but it might be covered under a larger mod

  2. Hasn't every generation said this about the one that followed it?

And what are these "traditional values" anyway?

I think in large part, kids of the 80's, 90's, and oughts are seen as "worse" because of the explosion of media channels that's happened over the last couple decades or so. It's not really that they're worse, it's that they're more visible.

Couldn't have said it any better myself..

Hello. I have a problem. I can't set up the antialiasing at my Oblivion. Just "OFF" in the antialiasing settings.

Playing without antialiasing is crappy, because water is really bad, annoying borders between water and ground, between textures, bad hair on the faces of people.

    I can't play without antialiasing.

What I should do to set up antialiasing?

    Please help.

Then stop playing on a laptop w/ a super low resolution & terrible graphics card... No other way.

I'm suprised you could even start Oblivion.

  4. SI is not really a mod and not a DLC. It is a game upgrade and actually makes changes to the Oblivion.exe and Oblivion.esm. So if you have reinstalled Oblivion, or done any non SI patches that can remove it. The SI that appears in the mod list is a dummy entry just to let the upgraded game know to use it.

The last thing I did was install shivering isles' patch - I actually tried using the unofficial shivering isles patch and it actually crashes the game.

  5. The door does not appear instantly. It takes about 3 game days then you should start to hear it in rumors, or just go out into the middle of Nibben bay and see if there is a small new island there with the gate.

The problem with that is that I've rather *ignored* shivering isles for quite a while. Last I checked I've gone through 60-70 days. One of the first things that was setup was shivering isles.

Edit : I tried removing, saving, reactivating, and waiting a good 3 weeks between people and places, nothing.

  6. I've enabled the mod, and here's my load order. I'm using BOSS for sorting

I've tried all the quest activation codes and it states that the reference doesn't refer to a questline.

Another problem that I've always had is that no matter what Oblivion always has the top left show up with the windows mouse

  7. Hey guys,

So I installed Oblivion GOTY onto my computer, and then I installed the Disc 2 without any problems. I've installed Operation Optimization to increase the performance of the game, but there is a constant, annoying stutter which happens usually when my character gets attacked, when other characters nearby are fighting or when my character attacks another character. It also happens when some creatures are moving (i.e rats, goblins) and is kind of minor when NPCs are moving. It also stutters a great deal when I am in a combat situation (not lag, but stuttering). During a certain combat situation (the bit where you fight a goblin shaman and three or so goblins underground in a cavern in the very first mission, before you meet up with the emperor again) the stutter became unbearable, and it became very tough to play the game. The game, outside of combat or attacking things, has an extremely good and smooth framerate (like 50-60 FPS) but as soon as I come across an enemy, it stutters quite a bit when I fight them.

I went onto systemrequirementslab.com, and Can You Run It told me that my computer is well able to run Oblivion (being very, very near to the bit on the right saying "fast"). My specs are:

ATI Radeon HD 4600 series (graphics drivers are very outdated [24/11/2009] but it will not let me update them, I have tried four times, but I still haven't been able to....so I've just given up because its doing my head in!)

    Intel Pentium 4 2.99Ghz

    3.25GB of RAM

    Dell Dimension 5150

Also, I play the game on a low resolution (640x480) but there is still stutter. The graphics are on medium-ish, but I reckon that I should be able to run it without any stutter, even on medium-high. Any ideas what could be causing this??

    Thanks!

    I recommend using Stutter Remover

As far as not being able to update your drivers - any instant messenger I could contact you with?

  8. I suspect it's your NVidia drivers.

According to the NVidia website the version your using are Beta which I wouldn't recommend under any circumstance unless the readme specifically addresses a problem you are having.

In my case I found an obscure thread on another website where the guys there were talking about general performance and stability and they mentioned that version 186.16 was the best to use. I downgraded mine and I can now run over four hours continuously without a CTD and I'm running a fair few mods. Up to that point I went mad with trying all sorts of fixes. NVidia has a tendency to break things during their driver updates / upgrades so be careful with updating them once you get some stability.

You'll need to go to the NVidia website and do a search for the drivers under Beta and Archived drivers.

BTW: I'm running the same OS and GTX 260 as you are.

One last thing - you should always load esm's before any esp's.

Actually, this problem has been occurring over several generations of nvidia drivers, it's just that I recently have been trying to fix the issue. If it is an nvidia driver issue it has nothing to do with a specific driver but rather with the fact that they just can't make one that will agree with the game.

  9. Ever since I downloaded my four mods (fellout, modern weapons, realistic damage, and dragonskin tactical armor), FOMM, and FOSE, I've been unable to loot humanoids, only animals and droids. Even if I don't use my mods, and start the game from the exe, I'm unable to loot humans. The icon "e) Search Raider" appears, but pressing E doesn't work.

Have you tried switching around which mods load, I.E. start with only fallout 3, see if that works, then slowly add mods?

  10. Topic says it all. I've even created an entry on my blog about this matter.

In my opinion MW2 is 2010 for what we had last century. It is still fun, and I admit if it didn't have penetration effects I'd just call it the original Call of Duty modded for better graphics and animations. It is not a bad game graphically, but it has much too many flaws. Still, it is tightly wrapped together for some solid gameplay.

Bad Company 2 is a great game for the fact it allows for so many people to enjoy in what is basically a thrill ride from start to finish. The multiplayer game modes make COD look pale, and there's nothing quite like blowing up the house with the AT guys in a T90 and watching it collapse to the ground on them.

Combined with the fact that it's only run on Steam, and they're making you pay 20 dollars for DLC & forcing P2P, I have to side with BC2 anyday.

It would seem like every 2-20 minutes my game just freezes up. It seems to do it more often when fast traveling, saving, or during battle. I don't recall it doing a CTD or any actual bug reports (EDIT: It just did that, but in the same old regular style of randomly doing it). Just that the game is unresponsive. When I force-kill it through task manager, it's usually running ~600-1,000MBs of RAM.

My other issue lies within my CRT's resolution. It can go to 1920x1440 or 2048x1536 on custom resolutions, but EDID denies that. I've been using Nvidia's customizable resolutions, and even though Fallout 3 doesn't recognize them (it's set to run @ 1600x1200 and won't go higher) it will still hang when starting up IF I am running the resolutions on windows.
