Leveling past the level cap
nekoceko replied to nekoceko's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Thanks for the help. However, I just decided to keep leveling until 50 anyway because I checked the DLC perks and I probably wouldn't take them anyway so it's fine :p -
Leveling past the level cap
nekoceko replied to nekoceko's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Well, the DLCs did actually activate when I started the playthrough (ages ago), and I couldn't deactivate them using the data files manager (they kept activating even though I unchecked them). So I deleted the .NAM files of the DLCs, and then when I want to activate a DLC I just let Steam verify integrity (which redownloads them) and again delete the ones I don't want to start yet. I don't think I have any mods that mess with this. I only got minor mods. Thes are all the mods I got running: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/35414 http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/34715 http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/39616 Also, I got Gun Runners' Arsenal. So, could using the player.setlevel break my game in anyway? Thanks for the replies. -
Leveling past the level cap
nekoceko replied to nekoceko's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
So, I tried using the console command (player.setlevel) to see how long until I hit the cap. First I put the level at 100, and then checked my pip boy which said that my XP is "max". So, I tried putting it to 49, then it said I could still level. When I put it at 50 it said it was "max". So, I'm my cap is 50 even though I don't got the expansions installed yet. The xp system seems to think that I do. Is it a problem to use the same command and reset it to 40 every time I'm about to level up, until I get to the DLCs (so I don't miss out on new perks etc.). Will that break my game? -
Hello, I'm appereantly, for some reason, levelling up past the level cap. I have two DLCs installed (Dead Money and Honest Hearts), which would make the level cap 40. However, I am currently level 41 and I keep gaining more XP. My game is updated (I'm playing the Steam version). I don't have any mods that should interfere with this sort of thing. Anyone knows what's the problem and how to fix it? I really don't want this to make my game imbalanced etc. I have the other 2 DLCs, but they are not installed/activated.

Game constantly crashing
nekoceko replied to nekoceko's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
:( Ah well. I would reinstall earlier but I didn't want to redownload the whole game since it's a steam copy. Hopefully, it's just the game and not my save. Thanks for the help. -
Game constantly crashing

Game constantly crashing
nekoceko replied to nekoceko's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Thanks for the reply, For now I stopped getting the crashes even though I didn't do anything to fix them. However, I'm pretty sure I'll get them soon again. I don't think the files I renamed are the problem since they worked just fine for 60+ hours. However, the NAM file thing is useful to know so I'll rename them back now to default anyway. And I'll try the wait/sleep for 4 days thing when the game starts crashing again soon. EDIT: Yep, it started happening again. I verified the cache already, so it happened after I verified it. I'm going to try to wait thing now. I'll tell you how it goes. EDIT2: Oh and another very weird bug that started happening since I verified the cache: I can't level up.. I am level 19 and I just can't level up to 20. I got 26772/26550 XP. And, my followers are bugging out. They don't follow me and don't shoot at enemies. God, this game feels like it's falling apart. -
So, I have about 250 hours on this game (on Steam), and before this I barely had any crashes. This playthrough has been about 60 hours long so far and the game just started crashing 2 days ago. First, it was random and would happen every 10 or so minutes. Didn't matter if I was in an interior or an exterior, if I was on a loading screen or not, it would just crash randomly. I decided to turn off a few mods and suprisingly that worked (even though the mod I disabled was installed for like 40 hours of gameplay and this only started happening 2 hours ago). However, today again, the game started crashing. And this time it's every minute or maybe two if I'm lucky, making the game impossible to play. The mod is still disabled. I only got two mods (including the disabled one), and both of them worked a long time, so I'm pretty sure the mods aren't the problem. But I might be wrong. This is my load order: http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee450/neko_ceko/123_zpsd8030796.jpg I added the "XXX" to the DLC files because they kept getting activated even though they weren't ticked, which was really annoying as I don't want the DLCs in my quest log until I'm ready to play them. And my PC specs: Processor: Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.40GHz GPU: Radeon HD 6950 2GB RAM: 8GB Also, someone told me to add "iNumHWThreads=2 and bUseThreadedAI=1" in fallout.ini and fallout_default.ini but that didn't help. If you need any other info let me know. Thanks in advance, I hope you can help me fix this annoying problem.

Hmm, well thanks.. I guess it was my paranoia after all. I found this guide if anyone else wants to modify the object fade distance: http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/35760/how-can-i-extend-the-view-distances-further and this one: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/1387

Hello. Distant objects in my game seem to load too slow.. They only appear when I get close to them, and they sort of just pop up which is really annoying. Things like roads, walls, rocks, flags... mountains pulsating in the background... I THINK it was fine up until tommorow, but I don't know.. Maybe I'm just paranoid. I mean, I've played at least 300 hours of this game, I don't think its possible that I only noticed this now if it was always like that. I'm running the game on max settings (Ultra). I don't have a lot of mods, and all the mods I have are small mods, none that mess with graphics. I can give you a list of mods I use if needed. The latest mod I installed was a map mod called High Quality 3D Map which also uses the mod A Quality World Map. But those are just map texture mods and shouldn't mess with my game in this way (right)? So which one is it? Is the game supposed to load objects like this, or is it mods or something else that's messing with it: (Watch in HD and full screen if possible) Keep an eye on the end of the road: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yD8X_-IKJKA Keep an eye on the fort: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZ1VqS0v-Rk P.S. My graphic card drivers are updated
