  1. Excellently put,Chaosblade02. I agree with what you are saying, and I think the problem is a political one. It is fashionable to spout about green energy, but nuclear energy is a "Dirty word" in many countries. It's one of the things where France and Britain once had a really good degree of co-operation going on, the French and some other nations are pressing ahead, but in Britain our politicians have been hypnotized by the green lobby. They ignore the fact that, looking at the hard facts, the safety record of nuclear energy, where plants are modern and properly maintained (as is the case in France and was the case with our British nuclear reactors for the most part), is excellent. Yes, there are accidents, but horrible events like Chernobyl are VERY rare.

As a person who lives very near a nuclear power plant I must say I do feel very safe about it not going 3mile island or Chernobyl on me.

Although even though there is a plan that can be activated in case something bad is about hit the fan I fear it won't matter because people will gtfo like crazy. Also no one is going to terror attack a place that is very near a very crappy town and its very crappy manatee industry.

  2. Pornography and sex for sale became visible in Denmark during the -70th. You can now see it in every mainstreet in big cities. It does not makes it less perverted, nor less humilliating for the girls and boys who offer their "skill".

We have seen even 15 years old girls offering sex, not because they are drug addicts, no they come from ordinairy homes, no they do that to increase their pocket money, to buy stuff like I-pads, I-phones. This of cause is a biproduct of a twisted society.

We also see all the poor girls and boys, drug addict, or other sad "numbers in the society" selling their body for less than nothing, doing the most perveted thing to satisfy a just as perveted and screwed up old pig of a man (yes it is mostly old men) who needs a shrink more than a hooker.

Sex like that is just a physical need, like scracthing your bag when it´s itchy. You can do that your self, unless your arm is too short. Real sex comes out of love, if anybody knows this word theese days.

In Denmark we have tried this now for 40 years, and it is really a pitty to look at. It has even created a bigger market, envolving kidnapping and enslaving from Somalia, Africa. Girls are promised good jobes here, then they get locked up in a month, filled with heroine, to make them addicted, and then the have to "work" for the dope.

So if you really want your Sin-City, go on and try to liberate porn, and humilliated girls. We tried in vain.

What is wrong with offering a service in return for money? In this case that service is sex. Everything is an exchange of goods and society is no more twisted than it has always been. I don't think there is anything humilating about prostitution.

Other than that a lot of them only resort as the very last resort when they're usually at the lowest low.

  3. Prohibition failed for many reasons like for one it's pretty impossible to stop your whole country from doing any act of illegal producing, and people are growing and making illegal stuff all the time it's a real unrealistic goal to stop it. The roaring twenties was also the wrong era to even attempt something like that in the first place, and drinking has been a long established part of life in this country you won't break that tradition ever. Also when HASN'T Mexico been in a terrible shape anyways especially ever since we went in there in early 1900's and screwed it up even more. I must agree that most prohibition if not all really doesn't work, but nothing isn't going to stop the already established people making money especially if you make it legal for them to do it anyways very minor changes will come of it.
  4. Indeed. Coous is 100% correct. You have to have dual wield mastery, in order to use them in both hands, for 1h weapons. Now... I will also go and mention that the 2h weapon mod that he's talking about KILLS all 2h weapon skills. Since it essentially turns all 2h weapons into 1h weapons. Any character that uses 2h weapons are no longer equiping the type of weapon that their skill requires, thus they can't use the 2h skills.

Really it kinda makes sense that it would do that. I should of checked it out more before even suggesting it,but at last I hate the idea of dual wielding two handed weapons even in fantasy games, and not worth breaking of the 2h tree.

  5. I found the Lich king's shield as well ,wow what a find, goes perfect with frostmourne

Except Arthas never ever used a shield, but this is Dragon age and not Warcraft universe.

I doubt we'll Lich King's armor anytime soon unless someone is very willing to do painful conversion, which the people who converted Frostmourne didn't even want to do.

  6. No mod needed you just need to max out that top tier talent in dw tree I think it's like duel wield master or something like that.

It turn any main hand weapons one handed so you can put them in your offhand now,but if you're looking for a dw two 2handed weapons there's mod in the gameplay section on the nexus.

  7. I had once read somewhere that either during the U.S. civil war or reconstruction that one of the military Governors of a town had problem with his men catching diseases from prostitutes, and ended up trying a lot of things one of them was send them down the Mississippi River on a steam boat. Well that didn't work because more rose up in the spots, and funnily enough he ended up getting the original prostitutes back too so he twice as many. He ended up legalizing it and putting a regulation on the thing to keep diseases from spreading by having everyone of them getting weekly check ups,and if found infected quarantine and treated in a hospital not allowed to leave until done.

It worked out well for the rest of time till the town and state rejoined the Union, but the whole irony about prostitutes is now they are considered usually scum of our society and back then in the west they helped found it and became very respectable members of the community and becoming future women's right activists, and most of the states in the west did have legal voting for women. The modern day prostitute becomes scum once the modern drugs run rampant through the country in the 1880s and early 1900's especially when opium made it here.

The general in question was 'Spoons" Butler and the town was New Orleans. His nickname was given to him by the Confederate ladies of the town because he allegedly stole the silverware from the New Orleans mayor's home that he occupied. Butler was angered by the Southern ladies insulting his officers and posted the infamous general order 13 which said that any lady who insulted a Union Officer would be treated as a "lady of the town' a euphemism for a streetwalker. He is despised in the south to this day, but responsible for the sanctioning of the New Orleans red light district after all methods of suppression failed. As for the efficacy of his experiment that is a matter of debate.

Most history is all still very debatable, and thanks for filling in the facts that I couldn't remember off top my head.

I don't recall any of the officer insulting, but I could just be very forgetful.Back to the debate itself though I do want to believe it's achievable, but really Governments have enough on their plates as it is in terms of issues.

  8. Considering that there wasn't even the simplest of life at 4.5,and it wasn't till about another billion years that even simple life would start, but he dose sorta have a point that it's gonna happen and it wont matter we can only try and make it less worse over time. Although the damage has been done and we just gotta live with it and be prepared for what's to come.

Now I sound like the doomsday crazies...

  9. I second this idea,it seems simple compared to a lot of stuff, and rather unfortunately that even simple stuff for DA is pretty hard and frustrating to do I hear.

I'm also guessing you like to play NE in wc3 too with a demon hunter hero.

  10. Solar panels. Yes, they work even in England, I have seen them in action heating a very large medieval church building to great effect, such that the church are selling excess electricity back to the national grid. AND you cannot tell that they are there unless you go up on the roof, they have zero visual impact and no harmful effects. I am NOT a fan of wind turbines or tidal barrages as they have massive effects on animal and bird life and habitat.

There really is no perfect energy source, and solar is no exception on top of them being expensive to install. I was also told that they aren't permanent either because they "degrade" and become toxic down the road and so you just end up with something hazardous and expensive to replace. I've also read that in making solar panels you're also producing toxic byproducts that must also be dumped or taken care of.

I prefer wind energy myself, because I think in the long run it's cleaner.

As great as all these alternatives are they have their cons that can make them just as bad as the other energy sources in other ways,it's really going to come down to either picking our poison or just use all three.

Also what about thermal energy,I was watching this show awhile back and I remember this whole tech university in SW U.S(I think that's where)was powered by nothing but thermal energy from the ground sounded pretty neat.

  11. But climate change can have a major effects on the modern countries that forces us to go to war for what could have been abundant, but now scarce we fight over it. It's not a matter of if but how and when will the climate change and in general being prepared for it would be wise and something all countries should do. Especially in day where technology is advancing very rapidly just being able to guess what could happen in know amount of time can prepare us to not be hurt so bad. The human species has proven to be very versatile and adaptable, but knowing what's needed is key in future survival.
  12. Well.

Its not so much about putting prostitutes in reach of the ordinary man, its not about making porn acceptable, and its not about putting them in welfare. What I think needs to happen is a change in how laws aproach the whole idea. Simple fact is that the competition from legal establishments can usualy completely outcompete the black market within a few years, but the real advantage of legalised brothels is that they can be FORCED to stick to a code of conduct, and a list of safety regulations, whats more, it would be a lot easier to find out what your spouse is sneaking off to do if its legal,

I had once read somewhere that either during the U.S. civil war or reconstruction that one of the military Governors of a town had problem with his men catching diseases from prostitutes, and ended up trying a lot of things one of them was send them down the Mississippi River on a steam boat. Just a little history lesson for you all to show yes prostitution can be control and actually very safe, but really that costs money and that's what we don't have to spend so it must take a back burner. On top of that would it really create a perfect or peaceful society? No it would not men will still cheat on women, and there will always be something in society that causes problems. To tell the truth though the idea of Utopian societies is overrated and just plain bad ideas. Also stardusk you seem to be one of them transcendentalists are you not?

  13. I'm not sure if it's Uldred, but you can criticize his help in the past which had good intent with something he has any plan or idea to in the future, and because you'll probably try to say something about Loghain. He's different his betrayal has been in the planning for quite sometime as even before Ostragar he had Jowan poison Emaon.
  14. I renamed the title of this post because I refuse for the most popular sport in the world to be renamed just because American's can't tell the difference between a foot and a hand! It's football, not soccer.

So in American Football we don't kick the ball? In our slang we don't go saying "How about that American Football game last night". No we go "How about that Football game last night",and I'm sure that's how you talk about that game of Football you watched last night too since usually when we bring something like that up we are usually chatting with someone from the same country, Like if were talking about 'soccer' we would call by a different name like if you were talking about a game of American Football.

Now that done taking an obvious sarcastic/joking remark.

As an American I don't watch much,or even oddly sports at all least of all soccer. Although recent news programs have poked my curiosity enough to go watch some of the sport and being alien to the sport I have to say I rather enjoyed it. I really liked the German v. Australia one a lot, maybe I just liked seeing Germany being awesome. I'm going to be rooting for them.but for the U.S. as well seeing they did put a fight against England.

  15. Well it's obvious humans have had an impact on Earth, but the planet herself has been in history been very chaotic place since the formation started 4.5billion years ago.

Some say global warming from human activity, but severe global warming happens without human activity at all and has. Whatever direction the earth's climate will be in it's remain years before the continents rejoin is huge. Just suspect when the next major shift happens expect a war of superpowers, but at last when this change happens also effects who might be in it. I am hoping that by time it happens it won't be over oil and that humanity has found once more another exploitable fuel.

With the recent Icelandic volcano activity I'm sure it brought up reminders of maybe another mini-ice-age,if I remember correctly it Mount Kilimanjaro when erupted caused a lot of sun to be blocked from heating the earth as much as it usually did. Leaving about a 200-300 year period of coldness that effect humans greatly.

I guess what I'm saying is not ever climate change is because of human activity as the Earth shown itself a chaotic planet still very much changing even more evidence is how many of today's deserts were once lush jungles or forests, but that dose not mean we should exactly not do anything to keep ourselves in check and lower our pollutions.

Whatever happens will happen we won't stop it so let us be rational and not let the situation get out of control with the start of World War 3.

  16. So just because pursuit of happiness isn't easy dose not mean it's unachievable. Still till this day you can pursue a dream and end up doing something you love for a living. Even today if you're actually serious and willing to stick out through all the hard times and have great determination you can make something of yourself. There is nothing stopping a young person from going to college financially, because if he sticks to it and does good and don't reliant there's many scholarships to be have you just need to put effort and determination into it. It's not all about being a CEO or being rich it's about finding something you love and doing it.

Thanks to Aurielius for putting up that quote from Franklin.

"The U.S. Constitution doesn't guarantee happiness, only the pursuit of it. You have to catch up with it yourself." -- Benjamin Franklin

You won't gain what you want easily you have to work, and work hard to do it.

Our greatest happiness does not depend on the condition of life in which chance has placed us, but is always the result of a good conscience, good health, occupation, and freedom in all just pursuits." -- Thomas Jefferson

  17. Well, I'm an American (redneck sub-species) and the only ideal I have is "you can take my gunz from my cold, dead fingers!"

    hehehe.

But really, if anything can be generalized as a nation, it is the constitution which binds the states together like glue. Without that, we are truly different countries....and if the federal government wants to break that down, well, you can expect many states to declare their independence...Texas being one of the 1st. ;)

    LHammonds

Remember how and stupid idea that we became a confederation first than a union? That was very not well though out as it makes no sense to have no central power, and according to history sir my money is on South Carolina.

  18. Mercantilism: It doesn't work if you have a limited amount of land.... which we do.

Coous: Sure, crazy crap can happen, but it all works itself out eventually. Those who are self-destructive self-destruct, and more rise to take their places. This leads to a natural wave system. Also, I can think of several examples where socialism failed the US: GM and the bank bailouts. Don't think the bailouts failed? Dig this:

The banks have all grown over the past quarter. Good, right? Not so fast. Why have they grown? The market has shown a LOSS! What's going on? Well, you remember how we're in massive debt? We're starting to pay that off! Yayayayayayaya again! And again, not so fast. We're paying it off by borrowing money that WE loaned the banks at 0% back from them at a standard rate. That's right, we're literally handing the banks more money, which is just putting us further into debt.

I am no economics expert, but I remember reading it or something one of the major flaws of capitalism is that really it's set up to have periodic failures. I agree on not handing the banks more money, but I have to somewhat agree with it. Banks are super important and having banks with money also ensures public optimism especially from what I learned about the Great Depression.

Also the market can seldom rarely fix itself, maybe you can recall President Hoover and how he did nothing and the great depression got even worse despite pleas. The stock market is a very corrupt place and to me is one the bastions of capitalism's evil. Every time we takes our eyes off and lower our guard stuff hits the fan there, but thank goodness no company isn't stupid enough to be like 1920's counterparts and sell more than 100% of their company in stock.

  19. Hmmm tough call for me,but I would have to say the Gandolf/Gannon battle at the end of OoT. My other choice would have to be fairly recent would be killing Arthas in WoW for the first time such an epic character from Warcraft III, even though he was villain he remains one my favorite video game characters of all time.
  20. Teutons. Always like playing a medieval based German faction, although technically it meant the Teutonic Knights which is not actually medieval Germany, but as an order they are awesome and enjoyed massing lots of them and just destroying my enemies. I don't really remember much but that really it has been a long while since I last played.
  21. Now I'm not totally very well in the subject as a whole in expertise, but I do know some what and here's what I personally think.

I like and prefer socialism, while I think Canada has done the best so far(mostly because of a workable public health coverage)seems like a gleaming beacon for what is capable.

Then again I can also argue with the past dabbling of socialism the U.S. has done very well. A great example of this is FDR for social security and various laws the help America stay on her feet longer without WW2's stimulation. Before that even Teddy Roosevelt(aka THE man imo) with his support and thanks for Upton Sinclair's novel passed the Food and Drug act of 1903.

I feel Communism to be fair is great on paper but never has been or will ever be implemented it relies on the anti-human nature to work and unachievable, and it's funny to say a country has a Communist government because it's impossible based on it's rules itself.but this is a talk of economic system and not government.

Pure Capitalism..horrible things would be crazy totally unregulated market is stupid. A great example is later 1800's early 1900's America shows how bad things can be without some rules in place and enforced.

Feudalism can't survive an advancing world especially that of a world of basic educated masses, while it did serve its purpose for Dark Age Europe it dose not have place in an fast advancing world, and growing too fondly of it and wanting to keep its preservation only weakens you.

Edit:I forgot Mercantilism I feel it's like Feudalism it has its place for a certain area and time, but like Capitalism did push forward I don't know too much of it that is like Capitalism, but somehow different all I can say for sure is its law of absolute amount of gold, and exporting more while importing less.

  22. Awakening wasn't soooo bad. The reason why it's easy because well.. you're pretty much overpowered by now, even as my dw warrior just dawning his origin gear and not upgrading he was super op. I say it served it's role as the story continuer well despite the really bad ending of cliffhanging scene. I just wonder if there will be another story continuer or is this the end of the tale's origin. I think they could of made a better attempt at scaling the enemies or imposing daunting challenges.
