  1. I can't thank you guys enough. Getting rid of the Joy of Perspective and then reinstalling XPMSE without the JOP tick solved the problem. Finally I can use a bow in first person without looking/feeling like an idiot.
  2. Seriously. People complaining about the graphics should just go out and play *COUGHS* Metro 2033 or let's see... Crysis 2 :wallbash: Don't insult Bethesda AND Skyrim by comparing a game with depth most other game devs cannot even fathom, let alone reach, to games that rely on graphical bells and whistles to make a profit. I want a game that PLAYS nice, that has a great story and most importantly (to me) a game that actually makes me want to play it again. Oh and not to mention I want a game that lasts longer than a full-length movie... Oblivion did that for me (yes I still play it; right now I'm a level 31 Nord assassin, 52 gates closed and loving it even after 600+ hours of playing the game with a dozen or so different characters) and according to what I've read and seen, Skyrim will do the same for me, maybe more. That's what will sell the game for Bethesda. Not great graphics (although there's plenty of eye-candy in my opinion), but the ability to draw the player (well, those who actually play to enjoy the damn game) into the game and make them forget that they're not really a Dovahkiin fighting dragons and everything evil for the good of all Tamriel. Bethesda is number one in my eyes, simply because they focus on what's important. FUN FACTOR. Their games have more than enough of that. I'm buying Skyrim at the end of the month and I just can't wait. There goes more countless hours of my life. Woot! ;D
  3. OMG OMG OMG everything I read and see about this game has me obsessed. I am working like a madman so I can have the cash I need to buy it the end of the month. Thank you Bethesda for yet another AWESOME game! Frankly, I'm so pumped for Skyrim, I'm a little bit insane right now ;D
  4. Here in SA the pre-order for PC is R339,00. That's around $45, €35 or £30. The XBox version is R160 ($20) more expensive. Thank God I game on a PC  I never had consoles, except an NES. Funny thing is, MW3 is about R60 more expensive on PC than Skyrim! And there's no way I'm buying MW3 at R400... Overhyped, bloated, NFS-esque overused franchise. Even though I prefer it over Battlefield. But I'll wait until there's a bargain bin edition available hehe Skyrim however, I'm buying it as soon as I put enough money together.
  5. What will this 40 minute demo video contain? I sure as hell am going to download it :woot: Anyone know who Bethesda is working with on the game engine? Just wondering if it's AMD or nVidia; I'm running an HD4850 myself and hope it will run Skyrim properly :armscrossed: I couldn't carry the financial burden of buying the game AND a new graphics card :ohdear: if it isn't going to run well I guess I'm stuck playing at minimum detail until I get back into the world of working people. Also, never mind the GPU, what about CPU constraints??? I'm running a 3GHz dualcore... I hope THAT will be enough lol any requirements leaked yet?
  6. Heartbreak is having to wait two more months before being able to play Skyrim  lol Seriously though, I am over the moon with excitement; the prospects of what could be modded into a game of this caliber :woot: My first mod will simply be a small log cabin high up in the hills, far from civilization, where my Breton bladesorcerer can recluse to ponder the last few weeks' events since he'd been set free, looking over the rustic view of valleys, maybe some snow, rivers and such, planning ahead his conquest of the dragon invasion 8) One can dream, right? Hehehe
  7. Hehehe but you can't blame me for being completely off my ass from seeing this the first time  I only recently got myself a broadband modem (despite the HIDEOUS prices here in SA) and I can actually watch the videos now. I haven't been this excited about a game since . . . Well . . . Forever :teehee: Not even Half Life 2 or Doom 3 had me anticipating their releases this much and that is saying a lot because before Oblivion, the Half Life series was at the top of my "best games I've ever played" list and Doom 3 just looked so damn good. Neither of those titles comes close or compares to what seems to be the greatness that is Skyrim. I'm learning Blender right now and a load of other stuff, want to be a full-time part of the modding community by the time Skyrim is released lol
  8. This video nearly had me crying :woot: :ohdear: :woot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=IGbXm9oBJDU Thank you God for Bethesda Game Studios  I think I'm going to have insomnia until the SA release!
  9. I have read up to page 28 of this post; my internet doesnt play nice since I am in South Africa but let me say this about Skyrim: What I've read so far sounds (to me) like the Best Game Ever Made in the making. They fixed practically ALL Oblivion's flaws (Oblivion is one of my all-time favourite games but I'm not blind to its faults), like the terrible movement animations, the unrealistic dialogues, the fact that there are NO children in the entirety of Cyrodiil :pinch: the sad combat system (I am downloading the Deadly Reflex mod for Oblivion as I am typing this, having read about it here for the first time!), the terribly linear quests, all of which don't make Oblivion a bad game, just not as great as it could have been. By that I'm saying that I give it a rating of 90% instead of 95%. I have been anticipating the sequel to Oblivion ever since I finished it 3 years ago and all this info about Skyrim has my head spinning. I am going to BUY this game, as opposed to many South Africans who use a poor economy as an excuse to pirate games the devs actually put effort into creating. I only have one single gripe about the entire setup and that is the Steam issue. I hate Steam for the fact that I run my PC optimized with as little background applications as possible and Steam is a resource hog (circa Half Life 2 at least). But apart from that... I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS AWESOME GAME TO BE RELEASED!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, I just had to do that :woot: I am starting Oblivion modding as of tomorrow, I've been putting it off for much too long. Thanks Bethesda for looking after your fans. Unlike some other companies who Shall Not Be Named... EDIT: This is my first post even though I have been a member of the TES Nexus for over a year LoL can you people see how excited I am???
