  1. Hi, I'm also looking for a solution to this problem. When it shows the file sizes it's something like this: (Obviously made up numbers, can't remember what they actually were) NEW: 12345 (123456) OLD: 1234 (123456) So it looks like the files ARE still the same size, but it's seeing the original (i.e. OLD) as a compressed size... Hopefully someone who has actually managed to make one of these mods and get it working can explain why this is...
  2. No love for unarmed in Skyrim. The Fists of Steel perk currently uses the BASE armour value of gauntlets for determining how much damage gets added to unarmed. This means the most is I think +18 for Daedric Gauntlets. If someone could get it to use the modified total for the gauntlets, that would make my day!
  3. I decided to do the Yes Man (Wild Card) route, however I'm having a few problems. 1) I want the Great Khans to join me, the player. I can convince them to not help Ceaser (yay) and to join the NCR (which I don't want), to suicide the Legion at the dam (which I don't want them to do) or finally, to leave the Mohave entirely. Is there no way to get them to serve my cause? It seems all I can do is get them to leave the Mohave if I don't want them joining the other factions. 2) Same issue with the BoS, is there a way to get them to actually side with me, instead of the NCR? Or am I stuck just doing the "I know about the BoS, ignore them" option?
  4. Okay incase you havn't ever used the mod, here's a link to MMMF3: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1415 This was one of the most popular mods for FO3, drastically increasing the amount of enemies a player would face. It also did a lot more than simply adding more enemies, but unless someone wants to take on such a large project, I'd me more than happy just seeing an increased amount of spawns in my game.
  5. 1) The best melee/unarmed perks require you to have both. 2) Not by a long shot. 3) Hm, sometimes useful to bypass a fight, however why would you want to do that? XP and items down the drain if you take the sissy route. 4) Up to you to decide, do them all and then choose for yourself which you liked more.
  6. So yeah, various crashes, sometimes I get a sound loop. Sometimes some of the sound cuts out. Sometimes I just get a black screen crash. Alt-Tab doesn't work to get to the task manager to close the program. Alt-F4 won't close it either. I'm stuck with having to do a hard reset of my PC which I'm loathe to do...Any ideas why? It seems to happen most often if I forget I have the pip boy light on and go near fire (of any kind, most common being the barrel fires.)
  7. Steam/Bethesda/Obsidian broke it in one of the updates, you have to go into the default.ini and adjust the order of it in there. I forget the details, a search should bring it up though.
  8. No real problems here so far. I was pretty annoyed with the whole Archive Invalidation thing being messed up by a patch though. Took me quite a long time to find why my NV wouldn't start up properly, as I'd just installed a load of mods etc. and assumed it had been one of them that broke it....heh.
  9. You could always just set them to nonessential using the console. Considering how dumb the AI is, it's only fair heh.
  10. Here you go: setreputation F X Y - Set player reputation with faction. (F = faction, X = 0/neg or 1/pos, Y = amount) You have to find the faction reference for "F" For example: setreputation 1558E6 1 100 Would set your reputation to 100% for the powder gangers. setreputation 1558E6 0 100 Would set your reputation to -100% for the powder gangers. Faction IDs. Boomers = FFAE8 Brotherhood = 11E662 Caesar's Legion = F43DD Followers (of the Apocalypse) = 124AD1 Freeside = 129A7A Goodsprings = 104C22 Great Khans = 11989B NCR = F43DE Novac = 129A79 Powder Gangers = 1558E6 Primm = F2406 The Strip = 118F61 White Glove Society = 116F16 However the reputation doesn't always seem to have any bearing on whether a faction is hostile or not. I had perfect reputation with the Powder Gangers but still had to use the console to make some of them non-aggressive. I'm assuming there are other flags which are set through your actions, aside from just reputation. I don't think this will work, but you could try: player.getav reputation [factionid]
  11. So of course I want the laser, who wouldn't? Are there any ways to activate it all without killing/losing rep with the NCR there? The wiki suggested going inside as soon as you activate it, but apparently that was fixed in a patch? What if I sniped (while hidden ofc) all the NCR troops etc. in the area, then the laser can't kill them, or do you lose the faction regardless of if anyone was actually killed? The faction loss did actually seem acceptable and I could always do some work for the NCR to make sure they don't hate me (yet) after the deed is done I guess, so how have people gone about activating this weapon without taking a big hit to NCR rep?
  12. How does the NV world area and FO3 world area compare? Because NV feels much smaller than FO3 did.
  13. So wait, is it not possible to craft these things? I'm sure I've seen a screenshot of someone with a shishkebab. edit: Nevermind, it appears they just turn up as items to buy.
  14. No, Steam works just fine for me. In fact having the Steam overlay is a blessing when I need to use a web browser without alt-tabbing out of the game, for example if I'm adding to, or looking up something on the FO:NV wikia. I'd have to see what DLC they release. I'm not one for buying horse armour ... Bit of a mixed reaction with the last question. I went with "The game was worth the money" simply because I'm playing on a PC. The community has already started the amazing deconstruction and reconstruction of FO:NV via the modding scene. To be fair I can't even remember what Vanilla FO3 was like, it was a different game after I'd finished modding it, that's for sure. Obsidian are great with details etc. but their work for some reason always feels a little sloppy. After Bethesda took on Obsidian for this, they had the perfect oppertunity to learn what was wrong with FO3 and improve on it. They did...to a point. However they missed several glaring issues, which I've already had to fix/need to fix with mods: Lighting, Auto aim, Mouse Acceleration, Ugly chunky console HUD, Bad chunky textures, etc. etc. Still, in short, worth the money? Yes, I think so.
