I have never modded before, with the exception of idiot-proof modding that some games offer. I have no coding experience. I have no modding software. I am a complete and utter newb, but hey, knowing that is the first step, right? I am looking to do a few very simple mods to the onscreen-UI (at least, to my mind they should be simple) Not changing anything that already exists, just adding a few info display elements. What's a good starting point to help me begin doing this? Because I'd rather be a contributor than one of these people always asking others to do the work for me. Thanks!

You know what else would be cool? An in-game time clock always displayed, like the encumbrance I suggested earlier.

My request is real simple... a HUD element that just tells you what your current encumbrance is without opening your inventory. Just a simple "110/260" hanging out somewhere in sight. Why yes, I am a compulsive looter.
