d3d9.dll, Game Crashed Upon Launch
SaintAnon replied to SaintAnon's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
It worked! *dances*        Thank you  -
After months and months with fighting to get steam to work on my dial-up connection I was finally able to install my copy of Fallout: New Vegas and get it fully patched up, but now upon launch my game crashes after the copyright disclaimer, I've done some googleing and the best I've came up with is to download a missing dll (d3d9.dll) which I've done but I'm not sure where to place it. I'm on Windows 7 Pro 64bit and installed from the DVD if that helps. Any help is extremely appreciated; I've been wanting to play this game badly ever sense I bought it about 6 months ago for $40.00 brand new, to find that steam was totally jacked on my internet connection. I've finally managed to resolve that but just can't get it to play without instantly crashing. :turned:

How about a bow that allows you to fire multiple arrows? I wanna nail two Forsworn mid charge at once. :whistling:

SaintAnon replied to SpellAndShield's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Be that as it may Vaermina still totally fooled you into doing evil... :whistling: Yeah, well that's called immersion. LOL. Lmao, thats for sure. Goes to show just how tricky the Daedric Princes are eh? -

Had to add a note on this; while traveling to Bards Leap on one of my characters for the first time, as i approached from bellow a Skull came rolling down the waterfall right in front of me. Upon further investigation I discovered that this waterfall lines up perfectly as being the very bottom of the one flowing from Bards Leap. I saved reloaded a previous save and began making the long trek again, approached the waterfall and again the skull rolled down as if magic, the Bards skull perhaps? I set him on a shelf in my Vindrel Hall and named him Monty. :whistling:

That old lady had it coming... :whistling: You can still continue fulfilling bounties and become Thane of every hold, for anything more beefy then that we just gotta wait on the CK. I've already herd talk of mods in the writing process to join the Silver Hand, Vigilants of Stendarr, and for some sort of Anti-Thieves Guild focused on freeing Riften from corruption.

Option 3 I'm a dail-up user with no option of getting anything better, steam does not work at all for dial-up when it does it takes a hour to connect and anytime you attempt to download/update a game you loose server connection due to it continuously booting you to the bottom of the list. Because of this I've not been able to play or mod a Beth title sense fallout 3, instead I'm limited to the modless 360 versions. I even bought New Vegas for the PC $40.00 and have never even been able to play it. I would give my right arm just to be able to buy a disc and install a game without any internet connection like back in the day. I'd learn to use the mouse with my left hand and type with my nose just to mod again...

erm.. Can you guys tell me about my archer build?
SaintAnon replied to FalseNinja's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Steady hand is like the best perk for Archery... OT: Just invest in Archery, Light/heavy Armor (your preference), Blacksmith, and Enchantment. I use a Khajiit Ranger/Master Blacksmith and Enchanter; who wears full Dragonscale stacking enchantments of 130% Archery Damage, 50+ Health, an Muffle, along with a Daedric Bow enchanted with 34 points of Fire Damage. I then tempered (improved) all of this while stacking 130% smithing booster. My armor rating all combined is just under 300 points and my bow does 250 damage + 34 fire damage. I down Elder Dragons with Falmer Arrows... :whistling: No one ever touches this one. -
Aldmeri Dominion Psijic Order And a counter option to joining the blades, I like Dragons... :whistling:

Statements like this make me sick. You offer nothing but oppinion and emotionally weighted statements, skewed information and venomous bile. I ahve never, in my life, seen an offer on any game companies webside for 50% off sales. Even then, can you buy games through the IP holder and play them within minutes? Can you access them anywhere? How about how Steam allows people in otherwise rural areas to still enjoy games? Back when TV networks were rearing their heads, acting as middle men to deliver regional programming to wider and wider audiences, people had the same bile filled remarks. Guess what? TV is now more accessable than it was with community broadcasts. Steam fulfils a very pointed role, and offers a great deal in return. In exchange, it maintains the RIGHT to profit off their services. They rarely choose to exercise that right, but it is still theirs. This is a lie; Steam is the reason I can no longer play or mod games, it does not work at all for us dial-up users in these "rural areas". I was much better off when i could just download games off a disc and play them with no internet whatsoever.

Your memorable nonquest/nonscripted stories
SaintAnon replied to thesapien's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
This story is from my Nord Assassin/Talos Loyalist character. During the DB quest-line I'm in Solitude for a certain someones wedding, head on into the Temple of the Divines and I decide to make a little small-talk with the only priestess (Frier) wandering around before I headed on upstairs. I ask her about the empty pedestal and she goes into this long rant about how Talos is a pretender god, I quickly ended are conversation and proceed to behead her with a swirling swing of Mahrunes Razor, drag her lifeless body up to the alters and neatly set her headless corpse on Talos vacant pedestal before heading on upstairs to complete my contract. Several days later I'm jumped by 3 Thugs while exiting the secret tunnel from the Underforge; unluckily for them I was exiting to go on my nightly hunt and had already made the transformation, hunted them through the plains like scared deer. After my hunger was sated I searched the corpses for the Bounty and discovered it was from Rorlund (a priest in the Temple of the Divines) in retaliation for the murder of his dear wife Frier. Went back burned him alive and put his body on the pedestal, together again. :whistling: -
Is it possible to do all the Daedric quests and still
SaintAnon replied to SpellAndShield's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Soo... shes evil because she made them ashen skinned and red eyed? That sounds awefully racist... The Chimer (Particularly the Tribunal) betrayed their gods and their king. What Azura did was a punishment for that betrayl, so they would always remember the crimes they had commited. I wouldn't call that evil, i'd call that justice. How about the fact she let several innocent students of the Collage of Winterhold be murdered horribly all in the name of her revenge? All Daedra are inherently grey; neither good nor evil just grey, they may have different ways of how they let themselves appear to us. They can all be just as cruel as the next; using us like pawns, then discarding us like trash whenever we loose are usefulness. "There is no good and no evil, just shades of ******* grey" -Fancis McReary, GTA IV -
Mod Concept Place a wagon train of settlers laden with supplies down the road from the burned town of Helgen, upon engaging them in conversation your directed to speak with the wagon train master. He informs you of their plans to settle and rebuild Helgen, but they have discovered a large group of Bandits have already taken up residence there. He then asks you to clear out the aforementioned Bandits for a sizable reward. Upon agreeing and approaching Helgen you are stopped by a Bandit Guard who asks if you were sent by the wagon train and asks you to speak with their boss before doing anything stupid. You are then left with two options, engage the Bandits in combat right then and there, or go speak to their leader and find out what he wants. Speaking to the leader he informs you of their plan to raid the wagon train killing any who resist and making off with all the supplies and any slaves they can get. You can either agree with his plan and aid the raiding party in killing the wagon train guards, or disagree and fight your way out exterminating the bandits and killing their leader. Depending on the path taken Helgen is either restored to a peaceful town similar to the way it was before Alduin destroyed it (just without the military presence and with a complete array of shops), or its turned into a Bandit Town similar to Port Royal in its heyday. Complete with Brothels, Rowdy Inns, Skooma Dens, Gladiator Arena/School, Slave Market, Illegal Fences, General Goods, Blacksmith, and Apothecary Shops all dealing in more sinister goods. A series of fallow up quest would see you aid the growing settlements in various ways, improving it with each quest eventually leading to it becoming a thriving settlement and you being named Jarl or Bandit King of Helgen, complete with your own Long House decorated with appropriately fitting decor for the path you have chosen. Creators Note Do not have the knowledge to do it myself but thought up the idea earlier, seemed like a pretty sweet idea so figured I'd share to see if it appealed to anyone else.

The main reason for is that when Oblivion came out - DLC was a "new" concept. Horse armor anyone? If Oblivion had been released now, I'd bet dollars to donuts that rebuilding Kvatch would be on the list. I do think repopulating and restoring Helgen is also on the potential list but is just not big enough to be the ONLY thing for an expansion. Would be nice if they made it so there was multiple ways of restoring Helgen, like place a group of settlers outside town with there wagons and supplies. you can either help them resettle an rebuild Helgen by clearing out the Bandits, or you can help the Bandits by killing/enslaving the settlers and using there supplies to rebuild Helgen into the ultimate Bandit Town, kinda like Port Royal was for Pirates. Add a series of quest that lead up to you becoming Jarl or Bandit King and boom you got a sizable amount of content ready for DLC.
