  1. Hi, I'm not a total newbie at installing mods (I've modded all three of the modern TES games to some extent or another at various times as well as other games), but I've never quite understood what happens when one installs a mod, then installs another mod that overwrites portions of the prior mod, so on and so forth. What I'm particularly interested in is understanding my current set up/install order as well as what options I have in terms of altering it and to what extent. To wit, I started out using the Concise Skyrim Modding Guide 2020 for Skyrim SE, which I've found to be pretty fantastic for retaining the 'feel' of the original game while still improving it pretty drastically, and then added stuff beyond that that did not address the same stuff (I believe). Specifically, I've installed Nordic Faces - Immersive Characters Overhaul, which I like quite a bit. This mod suggests that you can actually further 'customize' it by adding additional mods that replace skin textures and stuff, so what I've done is add (in listed order): Pandorable's Serana Lucien Replacer 2 SE UNP Female Body Renewal Tempered Skins for Males - Dressed Version Tempered Skins for Females ... (several scar/warpaint/eye mods that I've figured out here Bijin's Warmaidens ... NPCs ... Wives I am, luckily, having no issues with this install order at all, but I was curious to know how much I can experiment without uninstalling all of the above (and Nordic Faces) in terms of seeing different textures and whatnot from different mods. As an example: Am I able to just uncheck Tempered Skins for Fe/Males as well as my Bijin's mods to see what Nordic Faces offers in terms of textures/skin design? Or would I need to uninstall all of these and do a fresh install of Nordic's to see that? Thank you in advance. UPDATE: Wound up having an unexpected couple of hours last night to fiddle about. It appears that, when you install the above mentioned mods in a similar order, you're able to uncheck the more recent ones and it reverts to the older textures. I think this is the case, but I'm not positive. It appears that, when I disabled the Bijin's stuff, Aela did not look like vanilla Aela (close, but touched up). I'm less sure about the body replacer and texture stuff - it was obvious when I disabled the Men's body replacer that it reverted to (I believe) vanilla - but because I'm using UNP and Tempered Skin it was less obvious to me if disabling Tempered Skin was giving me the UNP body or what. Thanks!
  2. I also found a way to circumvent the CTD on enter. Apparently FNVRedesigned 3 adds dialog to some NPCs, which is pretty ambitious; anyhow, the intiial "HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE" from Mr. Nash is replaced by a custom line from that mod that was causing the CTD. For whatever reason, just lowering the in-game Master Audio and then boosting it after entering safely was enough. Honestly, I'm concerned for whatever other custom lines exist, though, because there's no telling when they'll strike... :/
  3. Okay, so I solved the texture/mesh issue, so far as I can tell. I had to go back through disabling and re-enabling all of my texture replacement mods. However, I am still suffering a CTD on entering Vikki & Vance's. That one I can't figure out.
  4. Hey, all. I know this gets posted about a million times a day, I just can't figure this out for the life of me. Here's an image of what I'm encountering: http://tinyurl.com/o98jlgo So, here's my issue (and it's two fold). I've got the game looking and playing like I've always wanted it to and everything has been totally solid since I started my run through. I got to Primm this afternoon, the NCR look great, I (inevitably) trip over the mines on the bridge on my way to the Vikki & Vance and I notice that one of the first two convicts you see has got the MISSING TEXTURES/MESHES symbol going on. After some looking around, not only is he missing them, so are a handful of the convicts in Bison Steve's and a bunch of folks inside Vikki & Vance's place. Here's my list of mods: http://tinypic.com/r/2egeglz/9 So, I'll go ahead and answer a few of the invetible "Oh, it's obviously this," questions/statements: I've tried unchecking the FCO *.esps and *.esms as well as disabling FCO entirely (but leaving it 'installed'). I've used Archive Invalidation (inside NMM) a million times in the past couple days. I've downloaded LOOT and FNVEdit and run them both (however, I'm honestly not sure what they're supposed to do, they appear only to identify problems and tell you which mods are 'winning' in collisions, but I can't find any information on fixing them?) Additionally, I've tried starting a new game with the FCO stuff disabled or unchecked, and not only did I find more wacky issues, but the problem persists. Last, and certainly not least, I am running into a crash whenever I try to enter Vikki & Vance's. I've been able to sort-of solve that by disabling FCO, but when I get inside the folks all suffer from the same problem as ESCAPED CONVICT up there, so I'm not sure what to do with that either. Anyone got any good news for me?
