  1. Nevermind. I got it. It helps if I read everything that a tutorial tells me than just look at pretty pictures and assume I know what I'm doing. Sorry for any inconveniences and confusion, folks!
  2. Well the character's lips are moving now. Thanks! But I used audacity to edit the MP3 and he's still not speaking anything. Should I use a different program or how should I set up the preferences. In the link HeyYou gave me they said to use a 64-bit sample format. My audacity (the latest beta) only goes as high as 32-bit float. Would that happen to be what's wrong? And if so how would I go about getting that 64-bit sample format? Again, thanks.
  3. Hello everyone. I have run into a problem with TES Construction Set and recording voice overs for custom dialogue. When I record the audio and click preview it plays fine. http://i55.tinypic.com/2gvu529.jpg So when I save it for the specific character that is supposed to speak it it leaves this message at the bottom of the screen and I typed it up exactly as it appears in Google and apparently no one in the world has this problem but me. The message says "Copying WAV file to voice directories..." http://i55.tinypic.com/fncrgl.jpg and it just hangs there. The file is in the directory and I can preview it just fine. However the character I assign it to will only display the text and will not speak his line vocally or move his lips for that matter. My questions today are: Has anyone tried this before? If so am I just doing it wrong? And lastly, how can I get it to work? Oh! Before I forget: I am the administrator on my computer, I have UAC disabled, all that good stuff that just makes everything work perfectly fine like the good ol' XP days of yore. Any other advice is welcome to. Thanks!
  4. Thanks! I'll keep you informed. I'll go download it now I guess. My Oblivion GOTY just came in the mail, so it's time to have some fun!
  5. Hello, community. I rarely get on the forums and it's been a while since I've done much relating to Oblivion because I was sucked away from the world in an online game (Not WoW, but that doesn't matter.) Today my question is is adding Magic Effects possible? Instead of having Frost, Fire, and Shock be your only elements, would it be possible to add more? And if so, do they have to be in the Magic Effects database, or elsewhere? I'd personally like to be able to create things like Earth/Ground damage and other elements, if possible. While I'm at it, is there a spell that will permanently decrease the maximum amount of HP your character has? I know you can damage skills, so I was hoping there would be something that would affect health too, such as a powerful spell that would grant you immense strength and/or speed for a short time but at the cost of your permanent life or something that would majorly affect you. Thanks!
  6. Okay, It was the cracked .exe file all along that disrupted the updates. Oblivion works perfectly with my mods now. Sorry 'bout that, folks! At least let people know to update Oblivion before putting their shiny CDs into storage and getting a fixed exe.
  7. Ahh, don't worry about that. I know how it is. I used to help out with different stuff on another forum, so I was once used to doing that, too. ^^ When I try to patch the game it gives me some error. I've quoted it above. I may just need to reinstall, but I'll do that later. Haven't heard of that one. If you could link me to it or give me the full name, I'll give it a shot. I've got all of my mods in the Data folder. I used to mod the crap out of Oblivion and Morrowind with no problem at all. The reason I was making sure it wasn't a Windows 7 problem was because it's been a while since I've touched Windows 7, I've been using XP after my fun with the beta for 7. I know they both have somewhat different directories for everything. An example would be the Oblivion saves, so I was making sure I was putting them in the right folder. I guess I have been, afterall. Everything I want is checked and they appear in OBMM. The only mods I have turned off are all of the other partners for CM partners because I just wanted to make my own, so I have the ESM and ESP for CM Partners on, plus my own mod. I'd guess that it's a Partner's problem, but that wouldn't explain why all of the clothing I placed on the ground in the waterfront isn't showing up for my mod. I'm going to do another fresh install of Oblivion and hopefully get the update working. It might be because I put a no-cd crack to replace the EXE. In any case, I'm using a legal copy I bought from a mom-and-pop type game shop, box and all.
  8. http://i55.tinypic.com/4u7uv9.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/fbdroz.jpg Like said, I already did that. And I also stated I didn't get this from Steam. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the fact that I'm getting support here, I just wonder if I'm misreporting some things.
  9. Wait, wut? I was supposed to put it in the Common folder!? Brb, testing this right now. EDIT What "Common" folder? Either way, I put the mods in the Data Files folder and the mods show up on the list when I open Oblivion, they just don't do anything. @ Eweyr: I tried to install an update but when installing it said "Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since the file contents do not match." @thyris: All the updates are in. I haven't downloaded the game via Steam or anything, I used the disc. The construction set loads all of the mods just fine, so I'm confused.
  10. Hello everyone. First I'd like to apologize if this doesn't go here and/or if this was already asked. I bought a copy of Windows 7 Pro x64 for my wife and I used the same disc to get myself the free 30-day trial from it. Previously I was running Windows XP 32 bit. On XP everything regarding Oblivion worked with no problems. In Windows 7 64, I can't get any mods to work. I have CM Partners on, Ren's hair pack, a mod I made, and AKH Eyes. The only mod I can get the game to recognize is in use is the AKH eyes. Does anyone know what's wrong? I want to use Windows 7 64 bit so bad because it's working so well with my computer, but if I have to go back to XP, that'd be a shame, especially since XP was only pre-installed on my computer and I never had the disc and the disc is really hard to come by these days. I've already did the UAC thing and tried running it in XP mode. I installed it in the default directory first, read up that I shouldn't, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it in C:\Oblivion, still with no luck. If you guys know anything about this matter, all help is appreciated. Thanks.
