That fixed it DuskDweller! Kudos to you.

Wouldn't it have saved both you and users (especially users) a ton of frustration if you had pushed out an email about this? Or in the very least had a big notice on the website? Maybe I missed these things if you had, but I've been browsing and installing mods the past few weeks and had no idea what the issue was when suddenly NMM couldn't log in yesterday. I spent a good while trying to troubleshoot the issue and Google wasn't much help until I tried searching again last night and found these threads. I see that you posted a notice on this forum, but we don't all browse the forums regularly...

    thanks

    Same with Facebook, google etc...
  5. Been waiting on this sale! Oh and BTW they have Morrowwind on sale also (looking to Skywind...) and if you are into it, CIV IV is also DMR free and can work on Windows 10 (per the system requirements). I had to chuck my old CIV IV cause I could not get past the Disc DMR set up (windows 10 does not support the type of DMR that was used back then)... On the bright side they will refund me my purchase price if it will not work...
  6. This is all conjecture and speculation on my part, but this could be why we are not seeing or going to see a SKSE64. I will make it quick and simple. Why would anyone in their right mind buy "free" mods off this creation club when they can be done on here. I am betting the SKSE64 team were told to conclude their work (I know they do this for the love of the game and not for profit). That way the Beth mods would have access to all the hooks that SKSE64 would have had, but the good folks here on the NEXUS do not... We get good mods here, but having access to all the hooks and code in the game would make one heck of a Creation Club. Here is my issue, I am torn on this. I love the SKSE team, but like me they are beginning to look into the horizon (getting older) and they can not do this much longer. There needs to be a new batch of 20 somethings to take the lead. Unfortunately the SKSE team are a rare bunch. SOOO having bethesda officially overseeing a paid group may be our next best bet... or not...

Why dont put it on youtube?

Simply because this was recorded audio only, there was no video.

Maybe one day in the future we can record a 'Google Hangout' or some such, but currently, Discord is working well for us.

  8. Speaking as someone who is not a public modder anymore, I look for mods that deepen and extend the games I play. Like someone alluded to earlier, a different looking Lydia is still a mule no matter how pretty. I have downloaded followers not just for their looks but utility or what they bring to the table in terms of gameplay (i.e. the ability to heal the PC). For example Techprince has created a number of beautiful ladies, but he also has given many of them a bit of AI that sets them apart from others. In fact I still have one of his that (she has been changed to a necromancer) was a vampire healer. He had some issues with her being buggy, but that uniqueness she once had has kept her in my play list (bugs and all). In fact I have saved her on a DVD so I don’t lose her. That being said I tend to list mods in 3 tiers.

Tier one Mods: Unique quest, Locations, Overhauls, Voiced Followers with unique quests/skills (i.e. Mrissi)

Tier two Mods: Unique weapons/armor, Minor quests, Giggly body parts, Followers with unique skills (i.e. Celestine)

Tier three Mods: Eye Candy simple as that...

Most mods on my list are Tier two mods as the Tier one mods often are unfinished or buggy with my personal set up. Some mods are very close to Tier One (i.e. Celestine) because they are a work in progress (looking at Techprince: still looking forward to her immersion!!!).

Now to the point of what I said above and how it relates to the OP comment. My modding skills have waned as I have gotten into my 40s, but I can make a pretty face. I don’t because well I can make a pretty face. I want to be able to find mods that makes my game unique. It is hard to do that when you do a search and get 3000 plus hits. There are no real advanced search options. I have spent hours looking for something unique but the number of useless hits can be overwhelming. The top/latest files helps, but that tends to be short term only for new mods. If it was not for a YouTube vid, one of my favorites would still be in obscurity. Mrissi has been around for over a year and never got the attention it deserved. It took a youtuber to get her out and now there is a real team working on her and making her GREAT!!! (heh see what I did there!). There needs to be a better way to get past the great mods of the past and pull out those hidden gems.

One of the biggest issues are many Tier One mods just burning the modder out and then they gives up. The KISS method is hard to do with all the scripting language and bug smashing that has to be done. I do not blame the modder, in fact I would love to see more mods attempting Tier one and giving up than no one trying at all, simply because some will make it to the top of the pile no matter... It’s those Tier two mods that I also enjoy that get lost in the heap of Tier three mods and overshadowed by the Tier One successes. Tier two mods have the potential to become Tier one mods with work and time, but because they get overlooked, the modders tend to give up on them.
