  1. Hello everyone, Ranoth here. Years ago I played a modded setup of Oblivion for about 3 years. Time goes on and life happens... I now have a new rig and the ability to get back into Oblivion again. I used Wrye Bash, OBMM, and NMM, when I modded. Now I have Vortex. It works with Skyrim. Can I use it for Oblivion? What are the essential mods that are out now? Modding was a lot of work back in 2012. Is it any easier now? So far using Vortex, I got the UOP working and tried to get OBSE working manualy. OBSE isn't wanting to work. That is bad because so many mods use it. I am using the STEAM GOTY edition of the game. Any help would be great. I really just want to rebuild my modded world and go visit all my old haunts again. :) Thanks for any help!
  2. Thank you Prensa ! Wow, a lot of good info. The type of stuff it could take a while to figure out on my own. Is there any DLC that is considered "must have" for modding purposes? I really am grateful for your help and if anyone else has any advice feel free to add it. :)
  3. Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to read this topic. I have been playing Oblivion for around 3 years and have a heavily modded game. I am used to using the CS and Wrye Bash as well as OBMM. This Christmas I will be getting the Oblivion\ Fallout 3 dual pack and so (of course) I will be modding Fallout 3. I wanted the dual pack mainly so I had a backup disc for Oblivion, and I have always wanted to try the Fallout games. Quick question on the dual pack I am getting. Is it just the base game of Fallout 3 or does it have all the DLC? The advice I need is as follows ... 1. Can I run Fallout and all the mod managers needed for it on the same computer as my Oblivion setup with out any problems? 2. What are the "core" mods and programs needed to mod Fallout 3? * I can not use NMM as my rig is not on-line. 3. The order of modding that I ran with Oblivion was- -All programs and managers needed to mod the game. This included all patches, official and unofficial. -Interface and UI mods -world mods that dealt with textures and light etc. -player character mods, textures, skins, etc. -world mods that added homes, stores , new towns and the like. -quest mods -any clothes, armor, weapons, mounts etc. I depended heavily on the Oblivion modding community since Oblivion was the first game I every really modded, so any advice you guys and gals could give me would be great. Modding is very much about personal likes and dislikes and I understand that. What I really want is a good starting foundation so that I can jump into the world of Fallout and stay for several years. That is when I am not in Tamriel! :) Thanks again for any advice you have. I am off to read more pinned topics. ;)
  4. Thanks. I am checking them out now. ( or next )
  5. Hello everyone! I have a simple request. Send me on a quest. What I mean is suggest some great quest mods for me to install. I have no quests to go on right now. ( I know... sad. ) I get lost looking at all the different quest mods available. I would like something with a lot of thought put into it, not just another "Item quest". My character is a noble hero who will gladly help all in need and delights in bringing justice to evil doers. :P Thank you all for your help. Now, I am off to pack my gear.
  6. Some sound mods can add sounds for effect even when the creature is not in the game. Birds anyone.... Makes the game sound nice though.
  7. I feel for you. I have been rebuilding my Oblivion on a computer with Vista. At first it worked fine, then boom. Crash city. :verymad: :wallbash: So I followed all the advice I could get on-line. ( Thanks everyone! ) I ended up doing a total uninstall and cleaned up my registry, defragged my hard drive and then set about doing another re-install. :whistling: The game should be put OUTSIDE of your program files. Somewhere like C:Games\Oblivion Do follow the advice Nephenee13 gives. I am almost done with my new, stable, improved Oblivion2.1. Hope it goes well. Oh, yeah. Do not move straight to a reinstall. Try reverting to Vanilla Oblivion first and see if it still crashes. If it does you need to start the uninstall / reinstall procedure.
  8. Hello fellow mod players! I am rebuilding my Oblivion and I have a question or two for all of you. I am currently using Better Cities- COBL ITF Ozmos Highrez face textures Now... For my npcs- What other mods should I use to make them look as good as they can? If there is anything I need to uninstall or a order to install stuff, please let me know. I am open to any suggestions, as my main goal is to have NPC characters that look unique and have a nice look to them. Thanks for any help you can give!
