  1. I feel sorry for the guy. Vault-Tec treated him badly, and war or not, he deserves his knives. After all, he didn't ask to be ghoulified. Come on...help me make him happy.
  2. "I then tried to open F4SE through Vortex. F4SE appeared in my "Enabled" mod list, but doesn't show up anywhere else on my computer. Before starting the update process I deleted an older version of F4SE to D/L V.0.7.2 I decided to start the game to see what would happen. Disappointment. No F4SE . I realized that Vortex was wrong about F4SE being enabled." Downloading via Vortex, or done manually, F4SE did not show up in my downloads folder, nor did it show up anywhere else on my computer, but for some reason Vortex showed it as Enabled in my mods list on Vortex. I waited a bit and tried again, and it finally D/L'd properly, and all is well now. Thanks for your response showler.
  3. After finally finding time to update my mods, including F4SE, which was great before the Bethesda update, I was unable to open F4SE either with Vortex, or manually. Before I could open the mod after a manual D/L two small windows opened to tell me that their $49.99 program could open that file for me. WHAT? I then tried to open F4SE through Vortex. F4SE appeared in my "Enabled" mod list, but doesn't show up anywhere else on my computer. Before starting the udate process I deleted an older version of F4SE to D/L V.0.7.2 I decided to start the game to see what would happen. Disappointment. No F4SE . I realized that Vortex was wrong about F4SE being enabled. I had intended to make a donation to the folks who worked so hard to fix what Bethesda broke once I could play the game again with everything functioning as it should. Now I'm not sure who/what the blackmailer is. BTW...Vortex is up to date. Anyone else here have the same probem? Spike is sad.
  4. I don't envy you. My kids are grown and gone. I don't get up early on my days off. I can sleep until noon if I want to, although I usually don't, because eventhough I'm a night owl, I don't like missing any more of summer than I have to. "Night. Spike
  5. Oy. I'm gonna have to reread your post tomorrow when I'm not so tired. My brain is frazzled just now. That said, I'm not going to worry about the erasing/repartitioning and installation of Windows 7...my BootCamp assistant will take care of all that for me. It's just figuring out how to avoid losing and/or having to reinstall old applications that might not run in Windows 7. Plus, keeping all my games data will be the highest priority since gaming is pretty much all I do on the Windows side of things. I'll also increase my RAM by 50% just before I start the whole switch-over process. Not that that makes any difference to the whole "moving" hassle, but still, just one more thing to be done. MUST MAKE SURE I CAN PLAY FALLOUT 4 WHEN IT ARRIVES!!!!! :D Because, of course, I can't afford a new computer right now. Thanks, Purr4me...I'll let this percolate until tomorrow. Spike
  6. On my external HD (the one dedicated to Windows...I have a separate ext. HD for the Mac side) I have 1TB available. If you mean my partition for Windows, it is currently at 80GB, but I will repartition it to 100GB. Remember, I use the Windows side of my computer for almost nothing but games, so 100GB is more than I will need. So... 1TB external HD space for Windows. 100GB HD partition for Windows. I am currently using about 60GB of the current 80GB on my Windows partition. I'm not sure where you're going with your question, Purr4me, but now I'm curious. Thanks for your reply. P.S. I should have said in my first post that I've considered trying to upload some stuff to DropBox, but I'm not sure that will work for applications. I'll have to look into that.
  7. I am primarily a Mac user, but I have Windows XP Pro installed on a partition that is almost only used for gaming. I've put off upgrading to Windows 7 until now so that I can get Windows 10 for free later this year. My external HD will back up all save files, but not the programs that they are for (at this point, only Fallout 3 and New Vegas), and none of my applications either. I'm thinking that I will have to do a new install from the game discs, and redownload the Nexus Mod Manager. I'm not sure what to do about my mods. I think I will have to download those again, and hope that everything works the way it should. Can anyone tell me if I'm correct in thinking I'll have to do new installs? Any other suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Spike
  8. A few centuries ago I could have been a hermit living in a cave on the Baron's estate. Now, I'm just an older adult that never could play well with others. Committees. Teams. Bah! I best do what I do alone. Which is to say, I completely understand your frame of mind, someguy2000. I loved your mods, and never had any trouble with them. I've been waiting for the announced new mods with bated breath, but life happens. Fires go out. Inspiration dies. The eye looks over toward the horizon and wants to know what's over there. Interests wane. Change happens, and it's often good. Only question is...who can come to the Nexus and pick up your mantle? The dance was great, but now the band has packed up and gone home. Thank you so very much for all the playtime fun. Be well. Be happy.
  9. Thanks guys. I uninstalled/reinstalled FOMM and all my mods and saves were as they should be. Only problem was that after deleting all the hidden bits of the Color HI-Detailed Map and Icons mod it was still modding my map in PipBoy. I don't know how to get my original FO3 map back, but I'm not going to worry about that. I can play the game without any problems, so I can live with a map that is less detailed than the original (There are no icons on the modded map for many locations, and I've been to all the marked locations as well as to most of the unmarked ones.) Thanks again.
  10. This is my first post on Nexus. Fallout 3 was my 1st RPG after many years of adventure gaming of all kinds. I loved F3 so much that after completing the base game and add-ons I decided to try my hand at modding the game. I used FOMM and all relevant helper files: FOSE, FO3Edit, etc. I easily installed about a dozen mods. The game and mods ran with no problems until I decided to uninstall one of the mods. The mod in question is Color Hi-Detailed Map. Not only did I not like the look of the new map, but not all of the place markers showed up on the map. They did on the original F3 map. I uninstalled the mod per the ReadMe. The next time I tried to launch the game from FOMM I got this message: An error occurred while scanning your fomods for new versions. A crash dump will have been saved in fomm\crashdump.txt Please make a bug report and inlude the contents of that file. I found the .txt file but I don't know what to do with it. My game is no longer playable since I can't open FOMM. I downloaded Color Hi-Detailed Map again and installed its components in the same locations I removed them from during my attempt to uninstall. I still couldn't open FOMM. I should say that Color Hi-Detailed Map never showed up in my FOMM load list, so there wasn't the possibility of simply unchecking it. Can someone take pity on a 1st time modder? Any help greatly appreciated. Spike P.S. A big thank you to the Nexus creators for this very helpful site.
