  1. So, no one has any recommended vampire mods, and magic sneak attacks don't exist?
  2. Ouch, sad times. Good luck getting it back and working again! I'm looking forward to this. Will it be one item that covers most of the body, or will it be different items for the different slots (so I can enchant it more)?
  3. I don't think that he meant that the inhabitants are Dremora, I think that the inhabitants are Khajit, and they fled to live underground in fear of the main story line of Oblivion, aka the Dremora invading Cyrodiil.
  4. Actually, that mod only creates 8 seconds of silence for dialog that has no voice files, such as for custom mods that don't include voice acting. It doesn't effect anything that already has a voice file associated with it. Unfortunately, I don't know of any mods that do something like that though.
  5. I'm starting a new character that I want to be a magical vampire assassin (lame idea, but it's better than the warrior+rogue+mages that I've been making). To this end, I've seen a lot of vampire mods around, but I was wondering which ones the community would recommend. I don't want something really over the top, and I don't need something crazy detailed (with bloodlines and extra quests and generations etc). From the ones I saw, Vampire Reversed seems cool, but it seems like a lot of other mods do this with more. I don't mind the extra crazy details, but if it has them, then I'd like something that's done really well. Also, if it could just not change my characters appearance at all, or not in crazy wonky ways, that would be nice too. The second thing is that I'd like my magic attacks to deal sneak attack damage. I've searched the forums and the googlenet, but all I can find is that Supreme Magicka does it. However, I already run LAME, and from what I can tell, LAME and SM do pretty much the same things, so I think I'd just prefer to stick with LAME. So, is there a mod out there, compatible with LAME, that just adds sneak attack damage to spells? Or, would anyone be interested in making such a mod?
  6. While I can't assist you (never modded for Oblivion), I support you in this endeavor 100%.
  7. 1. After you reinstalled, any patches that you already applied are gone until you apply them again, so yeah, re-doing them is a good idea. You don't need to redownload them if you have them in your download folder still, but you will need to reinstall them. 2. They recommend backing up your data folder because any mods you add will go in that folder. So, later down the road, if you decide you want to remove all your mods and go back to a vanilla install again, you can just replace your data folder with the backup that you made and everything would be back to normal again. You might do this in case you get a mod (or two (or three)) that doesn't work and screws up everything, but you can't uninstall it correctly. The reason you don't need to back up everything is that outside of the data folder, almost nothing gets changed by mods. The only thing I can think of is when you install OBSE which adds some dll files to the base oblivion folder. So you don't need a backup of content that doesn't change, just the data folder where things can go really crazy really fast.
  8. Indeed. When playing Oblivion normally, I can swim right next to most slaughterfish, and they won't notice me until I attack them.
  9. The reason that you do this is because Windows Vista and 7 have some added protection in the default folders (such as Documents or Program Files) that limit your ability to add to them or change what's in them. Even as an administrator, extra hoops have to be jumped through in order to run some mod tool correctly, and so it is just easier to have everything outside of those system folders from the beginning.
  10. You said that you just installed it and are going to be installing mods soon, so I think the most important question (before you get to far) is what OS you have (Windows XP, Vista, or 7 perhaps?) and the directory that you installed Oblivion to. The reason for this is that it is much easier to install and handle your mods when using Windows Vista or 7 to have Oblivion installed in a custom directory outside Program Files. Such as C:\Games\Oblivion
  11. I am also interested in good mods that are based on SI content, or perhaps quest mods that take place in the SI.
