Here's my load order. I haven't had ANY conflicts at all, and everything had been running smoothly until I downloaded Weapon Mods Expanded, after which the models and textures of several DLC weapons, such as the Police Pistol and the LAER, have been completely broken, only showing a red exclamation point. Is this my error? My second monitor is a tiny monitor that I play games with sometimes because I can't afford much better, and tiny resolutions run faster on my computer. I have my second monitor's resolution set to 720x480 at 59hz, and I set a custom resolution in the FalloutPrefs.ini. However, whenever I enter Fallout New Vegas, for some reason, it didn't do this before, but it brute forces my resolution to 720x576, which means the screen is awful looking, with black bars completely surrounding the entire game screen. Whenever I alt-tab out, the resolution corrects to 720x480, but when I go back into the game, it flips to the 720x576. I know that this resolution is supported by both my computer and Fallout because I've played with this resolution before, it's just...not working anymore. I thought it might be correlated with a bad HDMI connection, but I don't know if that's true. Please help, I just want to play.

Robot won't talk to me?
Usamiru replied to Usamiru's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
.... Dang it. Oh man, that's embarrassing. -
Okay, so I fixed the NPC thing from last week. Totally learned how to create proper NPCs. But this Protectron won't talk to me? Is there a different process I have to use for talking creatures to activate dialogue? Whenever I come up to him, it just shows this. http://i.imgur.com/LB3S7u8.jpg

Hello, I'm looking for help because I'm almost positive I've taken all the correct steps in making an NPC and creating dialogue, but something's amiss. I set the quest priority to 55, created a voice type, set the quest stage to 0, created all the dialogue in the conversation editor, set it to be the correct NPC speaking, but still, I only get a zoom in, and zoom out when I talk to them. Can someone help me troubleshoot? This is my first time creating an NPC.

Thank you, this worked! I appreciate the help, everyone. I apologize for being a newb.

Additionally, whenever I try to load a .DDS into the GECK for a note file image, the GECK just...crashes. What am I doing wrong with these files?

I saved it in DXT5, making sure to resave it as a new file instead of saving again over the same file, and the problem still persists. I'm still getting the ground texture.

So, I'm working on my first mod - a texture replacement for Buffout. I thought it'd be pretty simple, but I've hit some snags along the way. Here's everything I've done so far - maybe there's something I've missed. http://i.imgur.com/qojRYxj.png As you can see, I have both the Diffuse and Normal maps in my own textures folder. I tried to set it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\Data\textures\Game Effects\Ingestible\Clutter, but that didn't work like I thought it would, even though Buffout is located in that directory in the GECK. http://i.imgur.com/zJHIQlU.png This is how I saved the file. I copied the settings from someone who was working on a Civ mod, because it's the only information I could find online about how to save .DDS files. http://i.imgur.com/qf2PcF0.png I even created the appropriate Texture Set in the G.E.C.K, so I'm not totally useless. I of course, don't know how most of the options work, but that's on me, I suppose. http://i.imgur.com/im8DVdg.png Finally, we come to this. The ground texture. I haven't been able to successfully change it into the correct texture, despite many instances of moving the files around in the game folder, resaving, and recreating all the files in the G.E.C.K. There was a point in time where I saved it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\Data\textures\clutter\chems, but the only effect was slightly tinting the Buffout texture to the color I had set the new texture to. I hope this is enough information, and I hope I'm not leaving something important out that should be completely obvious. Thank you for your time.

I'm having some trouble with certain data files I'm loading. The problem is, all the files show up in the Geck menu. However, when I go to the Fallout 3 menu, none of them show up in the data files, and even if I look in the actual folder, they still aren't there. Whenever I actually can look at the files, the icons have locks on them. I'm utterly confused. What can I do to fix this?
