  1. Title. When I go into the options the highest it will let me go is Master. The Legendary option isn't even there.

    Which is weird, because it was available yesterday, on the same save. And now that I'm ready to play it I can't.

    Is it possible to change the difficulty in one of the .ini files?

  2. It's no mystery that auto saves that continually overwrite one another make games bloat a whole lot faster than they normally would.

    But what about quicksaves? I use the quicksave method more than any other (I have autosaves disabled, and I only make numbered saves when I make considerable character progress.)

    Do quicksave overwrites also make save files bloat at higher rates?

    I've only got about 20 hours of play time on my current character, and his file size is already at 7MB. Clearing a dungeon or completing a quest will add anywhere between 200 and 400KB onto my file. walking for 10 minutes adds about 100. 40MB is about where saves become unplayable.

  3. You can actually destroy the dark brotherhood if you want to.

    After killing the Grelod the Kind (lets face it, shes not exactly good, I don't think it would break the good-guy persona you have if you killed her.) in Riften for Arentino, the next time you go to sleep Astrid contacts you, right?

    Well, you CAN kill Astrid when in the shack, instead of one of her prisoners. If you choose to do this, her corpse will contain a note and a key I believe, if you take these to the Guard Captain in Dragonsbridge, he will initiate a quest in which you wipe out the entire brotherhood. Pretty cool for the true good guy players.

  4. Is there any way to reset the exterior cell of Whiterun (the city, not the hold)

    While I was doing the circle initiation behind Jorrvaskr the plates and mugs and stuff on the tables all went flying all over the place.

    It's really trivial, but it annoys the piss out of me to just see the cups and plates lying all over the place and on the floor. One of them even flew to the Gildergreen.

    Can I reset this cell?

  5. I've played this current character for about 40 hours with very very few crashes, but now I'm getting one every few minutes. Every single time it happens my papyrus log looks like this, in its last few lines:

    The last line is ALWAYS [ (000C6982)].FXSetBlendVariableScript.OnLoad() - "FXSetBlendVariableScript.psc" Line 38

    It always, always, ALWAYS ends at line 38.

    Anyone know what this could mean?

    More detailed explanation here: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/731058-ctds-in-a-very-particular-space-outside-of-riften/

    Anyone?

  6. I'm having an unbelievable annoying issue with CTDs right outside of Riten, on the south gate road, right outside of Snow-Shod Farm.

    As someone who detest fast-travel, and likes to explore the game, its error is unbelievably infuriating.

    I started in Riverwood, I had just finished the quest

    in which Delphine sends you to infiltrate the Thalmor Embassy

    and I took the road south out of Riverwood, through the hold of Falkreath then eastward, and into the Rift. I walked the entire distance from Riverwood to Riften without a single issue. Killed some stuff here and there, wandered up to Froki's Shack, mined some ore, went to Riften. Once I entered Riften I proceeded to the sewers to do the 'A Cornered Rat'.

    I reached the Ratway Warrens, I killed some Thalmor, I talked to Esbern, completed 'A Cornered Rat' and Started 'Alduin's Wall.'

    After I left the city, the problem started. I intended to walk back to Riverwood the way I had come in; via the south road connecting the Rift with Falkreath, and into Riverwood. I walked a little ways past the Snow-Shod Farm and my game CTDs. I figured it might have just been one of those few and far between crashes I get once in a while, but it wasn't. I started the game back up and and tried again; crash in almost the exact same spot. I tried this several times with the same results.

    I fast traveled to Riverwood and took

    Esbern to Delphine

    , told them to meet me at the location, and went to Breezehome and waited for 30 days, and went back to see if the issue was solved. It was not. (Could doing a forced cell reset via the console possibly get the job done?)

    Then I tried loading a previous save. Still had the crash, even though I was about 2 quests back from where I was.

    I then tried fast-traveling to Snow-Shod farm, and tried walking from there. It seemed as if this had miraculously fixed the problem, but then I CTD'd not much farther down the road.

    It seems like there's a would be 'bubble' of corrupted data. I've narrowed it down to what I think are two possible reasons.

    1) On my way TO Riften from Riverwood, I encountered a bugged corpse that was standing and moving a bit as if it was alive, but it was not. I opened the console and disabled it. For whatever reason this might have caused some issues.

    2) Somewhere down the line between entering Riften,

    saving Esbern

    , and obtaining the

    Alduin's Wall quest from Esbern

    that particular patch of data became corrupted. (Neither of these thoughts explain why the game still crashed when reverting to an old save, though.)

    Every papyrus log sense this started has ended with these last few lines:

    (000C6973)].FXSetBlendVariableScript.SetAnimationVariableFloat() - "<native>" Line ?

    [ (000C6973)].FXSetBlendVariableScript.OnLoad() - "FXSetBlendVariableScript.psc" Line 38

    [07/16/2012 - 10:09:19PM] error: (000C6984): cannot find variable named fToggleBlend.

    stack:

    [ (000C6984)].FXSetBlendVariableScript.SetAnimationVariableFloat() - "<native>" Line ?

    [ (000C6984)].FXSetBlendVariableScript.OnLoad() - "FXSetBlendVariableScript.psc" Line 38

    [07/16/2012 - 10:09:19PM] error: (000C6982): cannot find variable named fToggleBlend.

    stack:

    [ (000C6982)].FXSetBlendVariableScript.SetAnimationVariableFloat() - "<native>" Line ?

    [ (000C6982)].FXSetBlendVariableScript.OnLoad() - "FXSetBlendVariableScript.psc" Line 38

    [07/16/2012 - 10:09:19PM] error: (000C6963): cannot find variable named fToggleBlend.

    stack:

    [ (000C6963)].FXSetBlendVariableScript.SetAnimationVariableFloat() - "<native>" Line ?

    [ (000C6963)].FXSetBlendVariableScript.OnLoad() - "FXSetBlendVariableScript.psc" Line 38

    The very last line ALWAYS ends with "FXSetBlendVariableScript.psc" Line 38

    Not line 1, not line 93, not line 24. ALWAYS line 38.

    I have no idea what that script is, but any time I've gotten a CTD this line of script seems to always be the culprit, even outside of this specific zone crash.

    If needed I'll upload my mod list, but frankly I don't see how any mods would cause this issue suddenly.

  8. forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/703954-are-you-having-constant-exterior-ctds-ive-finally-found-your-solution/

    Solution in the first post. :)

    I have the lvlpredator error, but I have no AI alter mods that I have uninstalled sense I last started a new game.

    I've done a clean reinstall sense all of this started happening, could it be I have some hidden file somewhere from my last install screwing with my game?

  9. I enabled Papyrus logs and played until I got another CTD, heres the last few lines:

    Line 53

    [06/19/2012 - 10:40:10PM] error: (000DC54E): cannot enable an object with an enable state parent.

    Does anyone have any idea what this means?

  10. TL;DR VERSION AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.

    Before the Official 4GB+ support patch I had my skyrim.exe modded with the CFF Explorer, and I very, very rarely experienced a CTD.

    I stopped altogether after that patch came out, because once I had it installed my game crashed every 5-15 minutes; but only in the open world. I never CTD when in dungeons, caves, forts, towns. Only in the overworld. At this time I ran a very minimal amount of mods. The ones I did have we're very tiny, and not at all hugely game-impacting.

    I've recently been trying to get back in the game with the plethora of awesome mods that have emerged, but the CTDs are too damn obnoxious, and I literally can't accomplish a damn thing. The CTDs are even more frequent now, usually every 2-5 minutes. I'm using quite a few mods, but no Graphical overhauls, no water physics, I'm not even running the Official 2k Texture plugin. I run the game on medium settings, with Shadow Quality set to Low.

    My system specs are:

    Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit (Probably a culprit as to why I experience CTDs, but probably doesn't explain the volume and frequency, and why it only happens in the over world.)

    Intel Pentium 2.4GHz Dual Core Processor with up to L3 caching

    nVidia GeForce n460GTX with 1GB On board memory

    4GB DDR3 RAM

    I know my Processor and and RAM are not the most impressive, but I know that they should be MORE than enough to run this game on Medium settings.

    My Video Card I know could handle Ultra High settings, but the rest of the machine can't.

    The mods I am running are:

    3rd Person Dual Wield Animation Fix

    A Quality World Map

    Aela The Huntress' New Face

    Alduin Scale Armor

    All Enchant Recipe batch file (Not really a mod, adds items with one of every enchant in the game to you inventory.)

    ApachiiSkyHair

    Armed to the Teeth Template (I am not running any of the default Weapon/Shield/Staff esps, only the template.)

    Better Females by Bella

    Calientes CBBE and CBBE Vanilla Armor Compatibility mod

    Cannabis Skyrim (Easily the greatest mod to ever exist, at any point in time, ever.)

    Crimson Tide

    Daedric Reborn - Daedric Armor retexture

    Deadly Dragons

    Xenius' Detailed Faces and Detailed Lips and No More Blocky Faces

    Deus Mons player home

    Dovahkiin Relaxes Too

    Dragon Bone Weapons Complete

    Duel - Combat Realism

    Einherjar Armor

    Enchanting Effect Mods - No Effect (Removes the blotchy Red/Green/Blue/whatever textures on an enchanted weapon and makes it look like it is unenchanted)

    Fur Hoods HD

    Gizmodians Scars and Warpaint

    Glowing Ore Veins 300

    Greatsword Sheathes and Scabbards

    Hedge Knight Armor

    The IMAGINATOR

    Lighter Beards

    Lore Friendly Darksiders Armor and Weapons

    Omegared99's Ranger Armor

    Paraleyes Dragon Bone Armor Retex

    The Dance of Death

    Eyes of Beauty

    Ultimate Follower Overhaul

    Viking Spawn Axe

    Warchief Armor

    Werewolf Skins - black retex

    Winter is Coming Cloaks and Hoods

    Skyrim Monster Mod

    I've tried literally every logical load order possible:

    I've let boss try to order it,

    I've put all Retexture mods, followed by weapons and armor, followed by Homes, followed by Game overhaul and script-based mods. And every possible variation of that.

    I've even just spread them all about erratically, hopelessly hoping it might work.

    (I do, however, always keep UFO at the bottom of my list, as instructed by the author in his installation instructions.)

    I know the nature of CTDs are a mystery and no one can say for sure what causes them, because everyone gets them under different circumstances. But given my scenario and all this information, I thought I'd take a shot and see if anyone else has experienced my problem, and if they managed to fix it. One in a million odds, I know.

  12. Other than the Eisen armor with the leg armor instead of the skirt, I don't really know of any either. Thats more of a heavy armor too I guess.

    Sometimes I wish CBBE and UNP armors had their own categories so I dont have to wade through them when looking for a specific mod.

    Yeah, that Ranger armor looks just about right! Thanks!

  13. Does anyone know of a good Light Armor mod for females that isn't just a battle-bra and panties?

    Like, a full suit of ACTUAL light armor.

    I'm running around with Aela as my ranged support on my pure-warrior, and I REALLY just want a decent light armor that doesn't make her look like a tramp with a bow and arrow.

    I've spent hours searching the nexus, and I can't seem to find any.

  14. Is there a mod that scales down the damage dealt by Giants so you can actually survive an encounter with one if you screw up and get hit?

    I can deal with how resilient and tough to kill giants are, what I cannot deal with is how if one even touches you you die pretty much instantly.

  15. Someone makes this thread every day, I made it at one point like a month ago.

    It's not out yet. Apparently its a pretty difficult mod to work out, if it were easy to do I think it would have been out ages ago.

    Try using the Armed to the Teeth mod. It's as close as you can get at this point.

    The mod works for some and no so much for others, but you can try it.

  16. Make M'iaq a companion that you can only obtain after you've heard him pitch all his lines about the game itself, ingame.

    When he joins you he has conjuration, illusion, alteration as his major skills. maybe some expert destruction too.

    When you talk to him to trade inventory or something. he randomly pitches one of his lines.

    I would ~donate~ money for this.

  17. I had a mod that removed those pesky weapon enchant particles and effects and left you with what appeared to be a plain old weapon.

    I did a clean reinstall of Skyrim because I could not get NMM to work, and it was giving me a headache, because I was tired of installing mods manually. (Its working now, thank Talos.)

    Now I can't find that mod for the life of me, I've spent hours searching for it, but it doesn't seem to be anywhere.

    Anyone know the mod I'm talking about? And if you do could you point me to it?
