And yeah .... I also just get a kick out of bumping a 3 year old thread.

This is a fascinating thread spanning 3 years. I'm not here to request access to Remastered, as I've finally reached the Holy Grail of Fallout 3 tasty load order perfection, but I want to express my gratitude and appreciation to Purr4me and everyone else in this modding community who keeps these games alive and evolving. Much respect.

Can anyone tell me what's going on?

I'd rather like to believe the starter of this thread has been patiently waiting for seven years and has now finally received some excellent advice and is now well on the way to sorting out his load order. Or yeah ... maybe he's a ghost too. -
:smile:Thanks. I've also been looking for something like this mod. Much appreciated.

Simple mod request for Fallout 4 anticipation.

Feel the glow ... -
Hello, could someone please do a simple retexture of the in game bobbleheads to look like these new figures from Funko? It kind of matches the hyper-neon green of Fallout 4's hud display. I can just imagine a full collection of these lighting up my bobblehead stand at night. It would also make them pretty easy to spot if you are using a random placement mod. I'm not a modder but I've played around with textures and meshes by adding someone's glow.nif to the radioactive gumdrops in game and it ended up looking really great on a rare item. If someone could do something like that for the bobbleheads I think a lot of people would like it too.

I'm trying to find a very recent mod that was a texture replacer for the in-game televisions to make them look like the Bethesda reveal countdown clock. Did it get removed, or was it just a figment of my imagination. Wait, I found it. It wasn't a specific mod. It was a retexture of a television in the clutter folder of the Moira Brown - Craterside Enterprises mod. It adds a 'Please Stand By' screen to them. I should get more sleep.

After carefully following Goper's instructional vids, and being able to stack 160 mods like a house of cards with only minor CTD ... I've finally hit a game breaker. I can deal with little glitches like intro music running on into the game, CTD when trying to exit to main menu, and a weird bug that sometimes pops up changing my characters face and forcing me to hop backwards in saves until it goes away. But now I've got this audio stutter glitch that just won't go away. I've searched audio bugs in the forum but it's all radio related. This glitch affects everything but music/radio. What happens is ALL sound effects just stop and stutter and cut out repeatedly. I uninstalled the last 20 mods I had added, that didn't fix it. I uninstalled ALL mods in the list to bare vanilla game, and that didn't fix it. I don't know what started it because I've played nearly 100 hours of this game and the audio was always great. The only thing that might be a clue is that before the glitch showed up I tried playing Windows Media Player in the background to test out some music to add to a radio mod. I had never done that before. I'm playing the Steam GOTY version on Windows 8 using a Turtle Beach Headset via Realtek digital output optical jack. So I'd like to learn how to do a complete clean re-isntall and would be grateful for any advice on how to properly do this. What do I need to do to Nexus Mod Manager. Just uninstall my entire mod list and reinstall them after I've reinstalled the game? Could whatever's corrupting my audio be hiding in a mod file? I've always used FO3Edit to create a merge patch after my last mod but that's as far as I've gone into it. One question I've always had is : will a very early save game (made just after character creation) contain any data from a heavily modded game that could corrupt or complicate anything. I've heard that a game that has seen a lot of mods installed and uninstalled can lead to glitches and crashing, but if I reload that very first save from a heavily modded game would it have any adverse effect? I spent a lot of time making my character look like Walter White from Breaking Bad and I think I really nailed it, and it would be hard to recreate. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi. Thanks for the response  I tried copying the .dds file into the Fallout/Data/Textures folder (where all my other mods .dds files are) but that didn't work. I noticed everything else in that folder was in an individual folder ... so I tried extracting the .rar file directly into the Fallout/Data/Textures folder ... but that didn't work either. I tried placing the .dds file directly into the Fallout Data folder, because I saw a few .dds files in there also ... and by now you can tell I really don't know what I'm doing when it comes to installing mods manually. I've always used NMM. This is 'Terminal Reworked' a simple texture replacer that makes all the desktop terminals look more fitting of the Fallout world. Posted by Bloodbearer. In the installation instructions it says : Extract the file in the following folder: Fallout 3\Data\textures\terminals Which made me think the texture folder would have all in game texture files. But it only has my mods. I did however find the Fallout 3 textures.bsa file but can't open it and probably shouldn't anyway. So I still don't know how to properly paste a texture replacer file. Another question about installing a simple .dds file is how do I adjust it for load order? With Nexus Mod Manager I can place the textures mods I want to override everything else last in the load order. But a .dds file alone probably won't show up in my mod/plugins list. If I just paste a .dds file into a folder how does the game know I want that one to be last? Can you still help me out?

I've actually been playing a heavily modded game for a few years now. With Gopher's help and a lot of trial and error I'm running about 150 plug ins with only occasional CTD. I want to run a texture replacer mod for all in game terminals but when I try to install with Nexus Mod Manager it doesn't install anything at all. The file I downloaded it just the texture file itself. But I can't find the vanilla game's texture files to paste the replacer into. When I go to Fallout 3 / Data / Textures ... I was expecting to see all the vanilla texture files ... including one called "Terminal". Instead my Data / Textures folder only has all the texture files from the mods I've installed. I can't seem to locate the original game texture folder. I'm playing a GOTY steam version if that makes any difference. Thanks for any advice.

The DK_BulletTime mod has only one file but seems to have two versions depending on if you have FOSE or not. First I should say that I'm using an Xbox 360 controller in a living room set up. If I play with FOSE enabled I'm given the option to map a keyboard button to the bullet time feature. If I play without FOSE it only lets me 'hotkey' the bullet time to the D-pad of my controller ... I actually find this preferable so I can play without using a keyboard at all. My question is : can I somehow edit this mod file so that I'm using the non-FOSE version even though I'm running my game with FOSE enabled? Every other mod I have is FOSE required. Seems like it should be possible but I'm very new to PC gaming and would not even know where to begin. If it wasn't for Gopher's in depth Youtube tutorials I wouldn't have even gotten this far.

Any way to use bullet time with a 360 controller?
ironwolf777 replied to ironwolf777's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
Thanks for the replies. When you mention having to disable VATS ... is that just done with xpadder (overwriting the previous button function) or do I need another mod or method to effectively disable VATS? -
I just started playing modded Fallout 3 and I'd like to be able to use a bullet time mod that works with an XBOX 360 controller. I've heard someone mention a mod that removes Vats and uses the same controller button to activate a sprint mode. And I came across a mod that improves Fallout Wanderers Edition while using a controller, but it lacked a bullet time fix. I can't find much other info that isn't years old. For some reason my game gets heavy Vats lag so It would be great if I could replace Vats completely with a bullet time mod acvtivated from my controller. Thanks for any info.

Fallout 3 Stutter Remover and VATS Lag
ironwolf777 posted a topic in Fallout 3's Mod Troubleshooting
Hi. I'm using the Fallout 3 Stutter Remover and I've read in a few posts that it can help prevent that Vats lag sometimes referred to as 'Vats Calculation pause' when the game freezes for a few seconds before the target percentages show. I find this pause really annoying because I'm used to using vats rapidly and on the fly. Anyway, if I use FO3 Stutter Remover and set the max framerate to 50 fps or lower then the Vats lag problem is completely fixed ... but the graphics turn into a juddery mess. I'm playing this on a big screen plasma with 600hz refresh rate. I can add that console games running at 60 fps look amazing, while all my other 30fps games look terrible. I starting to understand that anything other than 60 fps looks juddery on a 600hz plasma. So, is there anyway to fix this Vats lag and still run at 60+ frames per second. I'm new to playing with mods so I'm thankful for any advice. I've been searching this topic for a few weeks but can't find much info that isn't 4 years old and a dead end thread.
