  1. Yes you can capture a "lesser" soul in a greater gem, petty in a lesser, lesser in common, common in greater, etc... but not in reverse. I thinnk one of the posters the other day mentioned if you want to reset the gem after you capture a soul you don't want, you can drop it and pick it up and it resets. Haven't tried that though so not sure Great idea though I wish it would say so we knew right away
  2. I have it on the XBox and PC, I am waiting a few months for you great modders to finish up and I'll start PC, but playing a lot and having great time on Xbox for now (Still occasionally play super modded oblivion as well) so absolutely it is worth the money, I am having a blast and haven't had any game breaking issues on the console to this point
  3. I found Ebony at level 10 on the way to Riften, there is a settlement that has a Mine with Ebony here it is if you want the location http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Redbelly_Mine
  4. I know it sounds sort of doofy, but I like the first dungeon I hit (Bleak Falls Barrow) the best. Probably because its so unique and new, and I've done it now on 4 (?) different characters and every time I find something different I missed. I'm sure I'll find cooler stuff as I go but have yet to get any one of my 4 past level 20, taking it slow and exploring way too much
  5. abaris I agree with you 100% I avoid the main quest completion until everything else is done. Did the same in Oblivion, even there after I saved the world why would I need to kill some guy or steal something? On my 3rd restart (yes I hated my short Breton after the first run got 20 levels in ) am now at level 20 and only did bleak falls burrow and NONE of the civil war main quests to this point. As far as opinions go, that is the beauty of message boards, I run a college sports chat forum, everyone has valid views and I enjoy reading them. We can all agree to disagree
  6. Yeah the Wii was crap what a scam. I have Skyrim on the 360 Originally I "found" Oblivion on the XBox GOTY edition way back when, and somehow I found this site soon after and dumped the 360 version for modded PC I will do the same for Skyrim in a few months for now just the console
  7. They mean Stormcloak or Imperial controlled (it gives a description of all the icons on the wiki page thats where I found it)
  8. Same here, I will do everything else I can find before I finish the main quest, so My answer is its taken me forever to beat the game :turned:
  9. After getting the skull of corruption, everyone was telling me how vile my weapon choice was and I should be ashamed of myself lol
  10. I already live with 5 women in real life so I am putting off adding a 6th as long as I can  Great idea on the marry the essential character thing though I will probably do that last just to do it
  11. I am playing on the 360 but haven't gotten to that point yet, sorry
  12. I have never played it, gonna get a copy myself
  13. I really like it, although I got it for the Xbox for now, and will pick up a PC copy down the road after all the great modders here do their thing. I still play Oblivion too just put it on the back burner for a while
  14. I have gotten about 20 hours in, although I am now off work for 10 days so I expect to achieve absolutely nothing outside of this game and eating lots of Turkey in the next week or so
  15. I take the slow route, restarted a couple times, been to two cities in a week, explored middle part of the map. Trying to do side quests and take the main storyline slow. My first start I headed south on the map to Falkreath and found it a bit easier than going east or north
  16. This is my number one reason why I spent 3 years playing oblivion, I kept restarting my guy every so often. I've done 3 restarts, I stuck with an Imperial Knight/Archer guy for now, but one of the kids is playing as a Khajit Thief (because it looks like the Cat) and it is totally different. I figure I'll probably start a few more times
  17. Thank You, so its beneficial for sure, but not mandatory. Got it!
  18. Hello everyone I really enjoy all the topics here, thanks for all the tips, help and mods the past few years. On the new skill tree/perk thing, I am confused as to what the 0/5 is for each level, obviously one is needed to get the perk, is there an advantage or is it necessary to get all 5 points, or is it a waste? Hopefully my question is clear thank you in advance
  19. Had it for 24 hours so far, played a modded Oblivion for the last 3 years multiple times on the laptop while I let the kids play vanilla on the XBox....since I just got a new Mac laptop I didnt go Skyrim on the PC, but on the 360. I must say it really is different, but I am enjoying it. I've only cleared a couple dungeons, and am currently still chatting with folks in Whiterun..lots to do. First impression is the game is different, but still fun. It'll be interesting when its modded and I pick up a PC copy in a month or two
  20. I understand the linear point, I have done 5 so far, they are fairly linear but on the other hand they are totally unique, but I do like the fact I dont have to backtrack out of a dungeon like in the past. I suppose when folks start modding they can make more dungeons that are less linear and more maze like if they prefer it.
  21. One thing about Oblivion and Morrowind that I always did was restart a few hours in after I realized I made a character building mistake or didnt like my guy. I have already restarted once after getting about 3 hours in....is it just me, or does everyone else do the same stuff? Enjoy the game, I have Skyrim on Xbox and the others on the Laptop
  22. Assuming you meant Bleak Falls Barrow I was able to complete it on the Xbox no problem, did you try a previous save and give it another shot?
