  1. I'm about to download the mod now that I'm all caught up with NVB 2 on my new character. Could anyone tell me (sans spoilers) if there's any benefits story-wise to bringing Russell along? As in does he have special dialogue or anything like that? And yes, I'm aware of the almost certain death I would impose upon him for the sake of one-liners.
  2. No, it's a nod to Ned Kelly. Never heard of him until now, but that was definitely an interesting read. The whole "government came on my land and killed my child" just reminded me of Ruby Ridge. Also, I know Siege of Firebase Zulu is long canceled, but is there any closure for it in your canon mythos? Did it ever get taken by Marcellus?
  3. I've been playing through NVB again on my new character to prepare, and I noticed something that I hadn't before that's bugging me now. Is Red Kelley supposed to be a reference to Randy Weaver? Because I'm drawing a lot of parallels.
  4. Anyone else more excited to just talk to Marko and learn what makes him tick than to kill him? The sample lines from the auditions make it sound like he's got some sort of nihilist/objectivist doctrine going on and I'm curious.
  5. Not really. It's more Klaus Kinski and Satan. And here I was, imagining Henry Fonda in Once Upon a Time in the West.
  6. I hope I'm prepared for whatever level of rape, stabbing, or rape-stabbing my Courier will endure. Oh, and I'll pledge a donation if this small, utterly random mod that may or may not happen is a Bobby Bass companion mod. Rife with killing people, plants, dogs, and titties. Actually, I'll probably donate either way for the 5 years worth of s*** you've put up with modding this game, so it's whatever. Awesome to have you back in the saddle no matter what.
  7. He's responsible for Ulysses, though, arguably one of the worst characters I've ever seen. I think we found someguy.
  8. I think it's possible. It's also possible to walк on the sun. Though not for long. Just let me bask in my own sad desperation.
  9. Just thinking, is it really that far-fetched that he may have been hired/contracted by Bethesda and is super busy or in some kind of non-disclosure agreement? It's obvious that they took a lot of inspiration from mods when making Fallout 4, so there's a good chance they noticed his too, considering they're some of the most popular quest mods around.
  10. Agreed upon. I was mostly checking out of morbid curiosity. He's talked in the past about taking long-ish breaks like this, so he's probably either woodshedding hard to get it done or taking a break for some inspiration. Either way, it's a vital part of the creation process and I still have faith.
  11. I hesitate to post this due to Someguy's absence, but I don't think it reveals anything more than he has already said, so here goes: Having tested an early build, I'd say that Someguy's statements concerning the mod tend to be very accurate. I won't spoil anything, but the Lake of Fire draft it is not. This is not to say it is not scarring, or traumatic, or dark, it very much is all of those. Especially if you bring a treasured companion! But it's not quite the ocean of grimdark that is the Lake of Fire draft. And for anyone who wonders why their Courier would chase Marko into the snowy mountains of Utah, beyond the reasons of adventure, or simple justice? Well, at one point this mod turns very personal, much more than any other quest in the game. I'll take your word for it. The thing that really got me was that he talked about the Lake of Fire draft and how much darker it is compared to the (un)finished product, then compared the atmosphere to the final scenes of The Great Silence and Se7en. I'm curious as how this will actually affect the Courier once they go back to the Mojave. It sounds difficult to avoid everything feeling exactly the same once the quest is over, but someguy is skilled at what he does, so I'm optimistic.
  12. You the real MVP. Reading through those old musings, I'm starting to think NVBIII will be way closer to the super-dark Lake of Fire draft than we suspect. Every hint we've been given points to a very traumatic experience for the Courier.
  13. Firebase Zulu was abandoned the other two weren't officially abandoned yet. Firebase Zulu is referenced heavily in the inheritance. Basically it was a massive base defence mod where you help a large NCR camp hold against a massive legion force. Just a courier (I think) was set years after new vegas where the now retired courier takes part in one last mission. Can't remember the last one. There was one planned at one point that involved fighting super mutants in mexico. If I remember correctly, The Message was going to be based on the classic western Shane. Anyone know where I could read more about them? I knew the basic gist of Firebase Zulu, I was moreso curious about the story and how it would have ended, as the WIP thread had been wiped clean of any information when he decided to kill the project. I know Just A Courier had something to do with 20 years later and you find Marko on his deathbed, I was once again wondering about the plot, and how the fast forward in time would have been incorporated.
  14. Considering "Firebase Zulu", "Just a Courier", and "The Message" are all but abandoned, does anybody know how they were going to go down?
