Cadash Thaig is a little dungeon-esque area accessible when doing Shale's personal quest.

Just got Golems of Ammarack DLC.

Sorry I can't give any specific advice atm, but have you tried the tips listed in this youtube-based guide? nobody12101 goes over boss attacks, what to do vs them, equipment (he stacks up to 100% dodge so that he is untouchable vs regular melee hits), stats, etc. The video itself shows a Nightmare solo kill from start to finish from the perspective of an AW mage. He also links to his videos of Nightmare solo kills on a dw rogue and spirit warrior in the description. -
How did this guy get Dragon Age 2 already?
Razorfish replied to SpellAndShield's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
Bioware announced a few days ago on their website that there will be a demo of the intro area released to the public on February 22. Playing through it will unlock a bonus weapon (Hayder's Razor) for the full game (as the second video mentions). http://dragonage.bioware.com/da2/demo -
When you register for an EA account, make sure that you go to the "Contact Preferences" section of your account menu ( https://www.ea.com/profile/contact-preferences ) and make sure that you have "Contact me about EA's products, news, events and promotions." unchecked. You shouldn't be bothered by them as long as this option is not selected.

Wait...what? This seems worded disingenuously as it reads like "the game locks you out," as opposed to "you can only play it on the 5 computers you played it on today until tomorrow." I'll assume the latter is true for now unless it was indicated somewhere that hitting the limit shuts you out completely.

Just curious, to get that failed behavior from Alistair, did you set up your tactics so that he never actually picks a target otherwise? I noticed that certain aoe abilities, such as a Mage's Mind Blast works quite well with the Surrounded by x enemies conditional, probably because it is not target centric (there is no area/target selection circle like there is with Holy Smite). Whirlwind doesn't require a target at all either (I'll have to check if Dual Weapon Sweep does, it's a directional attack at least)...

Where to search for proper class guides?
Razorfish replied to Teuton11's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
So does that mean I should go for cunnin/dex in DAO and then respect to dex in DAA? Any other advice? Yes, it does seem that way. The Awakening spell/talent Accuracy increases the value of Dexterity to the point that it edges out Cunning. -
Where to search for proper class guides?
Razorfish replied to Teuton11's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
I'm mostly playing melee rogues at the moment (archer is on the backburner until my next playthrough), but I've also spent some time analyzing the build/approach described by the article you linked and doing some minor testing of it with Leliana specced and moderately geared for it. So, I'll summarize what I think the guide is getting at: Invest primarily in Cunning, however, you need to first put in as much Dexterity you need to spec into your spells/talents and wear your desired gear. Because you're not maxing Dexterity, you need to get +hit chance (attack rating) in some other way. Options include: (not required) Pick up the first talent in the Duelist tree, Dueling, which is a sustained ability that gives you +10 attack rating (required) A party member with high Cunning should maintain Song of Courage, which gives +attack rating, +damage, +crit chance, scaling based on how much Cunning the sustainer has. Since you will be investing in Cunning, you might be the one sustaining Song of Courage. There is also a stacking bug(?) that allows you to benefit from the effects of two Songs of Courage, as detailed in the linked wiki page. (required) Aim + Master Archer gives +20 attack rating, among other bonuses (not required, but helpful) Wearing +attack rating gear [*]Only add enough to Willpower to sustain your auras and use any specials you want to use (e.g. Scatter Shot), but no need for more than that. With this approach, you are potentially using a lot of sustained abilities that reserve most of your stamina bar. The idea of this build is to maximize your crit chance to the point where your autoattacks are always critting. Then, you will do more dps just autoshotting than activating spells/talents (the aiming delay of activated spells/talents kills your dps). [*]You will feel weak(er) playing the character this way until you get decent gear (decent crit chance). Shale is a MUST in your party for Rock Mastery. Perma auto-crit setup actually requires an Aim + Rock Mastery exploit to achieve, according to the Rock Mastery page! There is a haste cap. There are entire tables on Dragon Age Wiki about how much rapid aim is enough (there is a haste point at which you don't even need the rapid aim property on your gear at all, iirc). There are problems with stacking Rock Mastery + Rapid Aim with Haste Aura, and/or Potion of Speed together (there is a mod that fixes that). There are specific skills/talents that must be taken, and there seem to be some more nuances to gear for that spec, but that wasn't your question, and I'm getting long winded :pinch: -
How to Load Saved Games?
Razorfish replied to mondotomhead's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
From what I understand, your saved game is already on your computer, you just want to select it to play with a new mod installed. If that is correct, this is what you need to do to find your character save: 1. Start up the game, go to the in-game main menu 2. Select "Load Game" from the main menu options 3. Click the "Switch Character" button at the bottom of the left side list of saves 4. Double click "Shania" from the list of characters that load up (or click it once, and then click the "Select" button on the right side of the interface, underneath the screenshot) 5. Select the saved game that you want to load -
Recommended Mods That "Fix" Things
Razorfish replied to Kultan's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
Hey, sorry to bump up an old thread here, but this seems like the right place to mention that I've started compiling a list of fan fixes, since I've been in Kultan's position before. I've written it up as a post in my bioware/dragon age fan blog, but I'm definitely open to suggestions if you know if I've missed anything. In case anyone here might find it useful: http://biowarefans.com/2011/01/dragon-age-fan-fixes/
