  1. Oh so the 'drop items', 'wait' and 'sleep' commands are unique HUD elements?

There must be some sort of template somewhere in the Construction Set but I can't find the sleep or wait quests/scripts.

Or am I just wrong altogether? :P

EDIT: Or what could I use as an alternative?

  2. You must be doing something wrong; unfortunately I am not a dialog expert. Have you considered Elys Universal Silent Voice? Also, you could take a look here.

I have already read the second link.

Have you actually made any dialogue yourself for a mod?

Please try it (it shouldn't take long) and let me know of you can do it. I just want to see if it's something wrong with the tutorial or something that I'm doing wrong.

  3. Hi. I want to make a spell which opens a menu with a slider when the spell is cast on an Object.

This slider would use the SetWeight function to set the weight obviously.

What would the script for this be?

  4. The deadric O is pointed out in the teaser trailer as soon as the narrator says ' oblivion'

    You mean the Oblivion O?

Well that's unfortunate for me then... For about a week my YouTube stopped working.

And after that I forgot about the teaser so I never saw it. o_O

  5. Unstable stuttering? I think thats on your end. I play max details no stuttering of any kind.

Now throw in a mess load of mods, bunches of HD texture packs, and I might stutter in a huge battle once or twice.

You have a point, my system does suck. :P

But what I'm trying to say is, if you don't have an uber-build which is the majority of us, we are bound to get lag here or there.

I mean maybe they could make the game more friendly towards people like me.

    Edit: Also *jealous*

  6. Hmm, walking into a town and having everyone tell me how skilled I am. "You have the hands of an Illusionist." "You look skilled in Alteration." Look, tell me how you came to these conclusions. I wear gloves/gauntlets 98% of the time, and I've yet to discern any signs pointing towards someone being skilled in Alteration. I understand I've got the down solid. You don't need to tell me about it. If there was a mod to make it all stop I'd be downloading it instantly.

Oh, and bugs where random doors lock for no reason whatsoever. I don't think I've been able to walk into the Mystic Emporium without breaking in. Sinderion also barricaded himself in his basement one time, however that was on the console version I've got so dunno if that counts. Just hope he starved down there. Never got to turn in my last batch of demon Nirnroots...

The parts highlighted in red made me laugh

I 100% agree with you about the psychic people...

I think my most annoying moments were when I did a LOT and forgot to save it, then died.

  7. Couldn't agree more OP. I've got nothing against people that drink, but personally I don't touch the stuff, and it's nothing short of awkward to be at a party and be the only one not drinking. It's borderline annoying. I had a good New Year's just recently, though. Managed to get a group of like-minded friends together and just hang out. No drinking, no smoking, no drugs, and we had a fantastic time. Sure, there were only five of us, but that was enough for me.

That sound like a quality night out (or in) to me.

If only my friends lived nearer to me though...

  8. Well, classes don't give you anything special except for major skills boosts to 25, and attributes you choose get plus 5. Best race for magicka gain is High Elves. But they also have a weakness to it and all the elements. The Atronach is the best one for magicka too, but it gives you Stunted Magicka, and 50 Spell Absorption. You need to be an advanced player if you use that really, if your going to use magic a lot. Then the best class setup would be choosing Intelligence and Willpower for your attributes (they are the magic stuff; willpower determines how fast you regain magicka [not needed if using Atronach Birthsign], and intelligence determines how much you have). Skills would be the magic skills (Destruction, Mysticism, Restoration [i wouldn't recommend restoration, its a pain to boost], Alchemy, etc). But I'd also choose blade/blunt/hand-to-hand and light armor so you have something to fall back on when you run out of magicka.

Sounds just like one of my previous characters on the PS3. :P

High Elf, Atronach, good all-round character actually. After a huge pain in the ass getting my Restoration to 100, I was finally happy with him... I had almost everything 100. Very fun with all the spells. Got him all the way to Lvl 47. All I'm saying is he did OK considering I chose the most difficult major skills ever >_> by accident.

Some good advice there though. I guess I was just asking what I already knew just to see if I had forgotten or missed something after being away from Oblivion for a few months.

    Thanks Lord. :)

EDIT: Just saw SandsOfTime404's post. Too late for that whole 'efficient levelling' thing, I already power-levelled from Lvl 1 to Lvl 23 since yesterday. o_O

Yeah I wouldn't choose Athletics, takes too long to level up as well as being mostly unpredictable.

  9. Would you believe it was actually my mom who got me into gaming? I was about five or six when she bought me my first Super Nintendo. I didn't ask for one; she got it for my cause she thought it was good for my hand eye coordination. But I absolutely fell in love with it, heck I still play my old games like Donkey Kong Country, Yoshi's Island, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, even though I've beat them dozens of times over since I was a kid. Ah yes, now those were the days... http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/happy.gif

True, it can be hard to find good games these days, just because there are a lot more of them out there than there used to be because the video gaming industry has grown so much, and unfortunately Sturgeon's Law is in effect. but there are still good ones out there if you know what to look for. That's why I always try to read reviews about a game before I get it. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/smile.gif

    Ah, Yoshi's Island, great game.

  10. For me it is that I know how the games work so I'm less mesmerized by them...

There aren't many good PS3 games out there now. The only games I play are Just Cause 2 which I just bought (short storyline but fun), Oblivion (occasionally) and Saints Row 2 (very occasionally, I like the multiplayer).

All the rest I play on PC (1 or 2 games).

It seems that the only games that interest me are games which let you create things, characters, places, like LittleBigPlanet, it may be childish but I really like the creation.

I also love Age of Empires: The Age of Kings, still play it.

I've never really experienced these idiots on PSN and Live because I don't really play competitive games unless it's multiplayer offline
