[WIP] Atvir Dres: The Last Prince of Tear
eternalautumn replied to JanusForbeare's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I *love* the depth and scope of this character. I've always hated how one dimensional the usual followers are and how you kind of have to imagine a personality and story for them. I downloaded this one immediately and put him in my game and was laughing loudly from just the intro dialogue when I tested him out with my Nord and his party of elf followers. Very nice. I'll be sending my dark elf necromancer woman to Windhelm as soon as my plot allows. Thank you! I can't wait for the updates. I hope we see more followers detailed out like this start popping up around the Nexus. This is now one of my essential mods. -
Too many mods - too far along to try to restart
eternalautumn replied to takieda's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Another Life and Water should be at the bottom of your load list according to the forums/readmes. I also read that Another Life is pretty much incompatible with Basic Needs. I *think* I read that Civil Unrest (which I use also) is incompatible with mods that make changes to the gaurds, but I'm not sure. Check that one out and whether UFO is or not. I have Civil Unrest, UFO and Another Life running together in a stable game, but Life and WATER load last (I had to get rid of the get wet effect) and UFO loads pretty close to the bottom, too. I had the *other* basic needs mod going and my game started crashing. I never did figure out if it was because of incompatibilities with that one specifically or not but I decided not to put it back in after I reinstalled because I didn't want to tempt fate. I also ended up having to start my game over and ditching my old saves. You may also have navmesh issues. The sad thing is this, though... even if you do get all your mods working and stable.. your game might still have these issues, you could still have to bite the bullet and restart if your current saves have gotten corrupted from the scripts, etc. I read that the scripts get stored in the save game which means that any mods you have that have scripts, even if you remove them, those save games are still running the scripts. I could be wrong about that, though, but if I am, I'm sure someone will say so. Also, with Civil Unrest, the warzone at Redoran Plains freezing or crashing is apparently common. I have the freezing issue because it's such a large battlezone and so many npc's get involved. I just avoid that area. That is the only issue I've run into with my current setup. Under the spoiler is my mod list. The only thing different from my actual load order is that I have WATER then Live Another Life at the very bottom of the list and Cozier Villages after all the whiterun mods. Also, Shrine of Azura LOD fix isn't active currently as BOSS told me it's included in USKP. PS With Another Life, if you choose the bandit option, it assigns you to the bandit faction at the beginning then takes that marker off you once you join another faction or (I believe) pay your bounty. Maybe something like that is the problem? If you're a bandit, most other bandits in your hold won't attack you AFAIK, until after the faction change. Personally, if it were me, I'd start with all the mods that change the AI's of the NPCs. -
Off the top of my head, Tytanus (sp?) and your overhaul mods are big mods that modify a lot and are the ones you have to be most careful with. With major mods like that, the fewer mods you have, the better. Deadly Dragons seems to be a pretty big one, too, but I haven't used it. I'm not brave enough. Also, I had CTD's and had to take out the get wet effect for WATER to fix them. Your mileage may vary. I also read that despite what BOSS says, water should be at the very end of your list or very close to it. For city improvement mods, check out the ones you have and see if you can cut back a couple of those or find mods that do most of what you have going there in a single mod rather than having a bunch of mods doing it. Check out Big Dan's Cozier Villages if you haven't. I use that one and it's really good, but I have to load it after my whiterun beautifying mods. It wasn't crashing me but I had some glitches with some of the light placements before I moved it down the load order list. Keep in mind that most of this is pretty much based on opinion. It's the method I use and it's been working pretty well for me. I was having all kinds of CTD's til I reinstalled my game and got a little more philosophical in how I deal with my mods (read "anal"). And like jsnider said, you have to look out for mods with navmesh issues. I don't install mods with a lot of CTD reports or with navmesh issues that haven't been worked out. You could probably get rid of a lot of your fix mods if you try out the unofficial skyrim patch, but again, your mileage may vary. If you do try that one out, I had SIMM installed, I unchecked it but I did not deactivate it because the textures from it on the ropes looked better to me than the other ones I had though USKP fixes mapping to SIMM isn't necessary if you have it. So their forums say.

Are mods less compatible now? CTDs every other mod
eternalautumn replied to mitzibishi's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I forgot to mention the navmesh issues, too. That's another thing I look for in house/location mods, that the navmesh issue has been corrected/updated/whatever. -
Went mod crazy, can't figure out what's causing CTDs

I had to get rid of the WATER get wet effect in my mods, so you might want to give that one a shot. -
Are mods less compatible now? CTDs every other mod
eternalautumn replied to mitzibishi's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
If you have "occasional CTD's", you probably have conflicting mods. Especially if you're running "hundreds". If your player homes are crashing your game now, you have conflicting mods. It's not necessarily the house mods, but something else you have installed previously that's conflicting. And there's a very good chance that whatever you have installed previously that's conflicting was already conflicting and you just didn't see any overt evidence of that. Time to prune your mods. And I am not being judgmental or negative when I say this.. but if you have "hundreds" of mods, you're a compulsive mod user and need help. :) When adding mods to your game, you have to be discerning and nitpicky. You paid $60 for this game...why would you want to break it? And for the record, I had to put myself on a strict diet of no more than 100 mods. And most of those are texture/armor mods. Seriously, though... I seriously doubt you can't live without each and every one of those mods. Do some house cleaning. P.S. Go back and read the mod discussion threads. Look for the reports of people experiencing crashing. They usually say what other mods they're running with it. -
Have you tried them without Blackreach Railroad? Also, I read about a lot of issues with the Asteria, but I can't confirm because I don't use it. Also, is that your complete modlist? It's been my experience that really big mods that edit a lot of cells across the world will cause conflicts with housing mods, or housing mods that edit the same space. I have a ton of mods and quite a few housing mods, but my game is perfectly stable. Primarily because I make sure that my house mods aren't touching a cell that's being edited by another mod. I also got rid of the majority of my overhaul type mods and downgraded Civil Unrest to the version that doesn't add the soldier camps, and got rid of Ranger Cabins and Ranger Camps because they put houses and campsites around the world and I couldn't be sure where. Blackreach Railroad sounds like an awesome mod but I won't use it because I read it edits a lot of cell spaces. Too many for me to feel comfortable adding with all my house mods. The same for Scenic Carriages which I would *love* to try but I'm afraid to. But you see what I'm getting at, right? Another thing I do before installing a mod is read through the comments and look for reports of CTD's people might be having after installing it. If there are several, I wait for the mod to be updated or I just pass over it. Riverside Lodge is a beautiful house mods, but the description used to warn that some people were gettng CTD's with it and when I installed it, I did too. However, several updates later, it no longer says that in the description and seems to be working beautifully in my game now.

Thank you. The option doesn't show for me, apparently. -

Thank you. Found that in the wiki. Can't find it on my interface anywhere, though. In fact, I seem to have found export everything but. Where is it, exactly? And yeah, I realize it's probably staring me in the face somewhere but damned if I can see it. -

I'm having this problem, too. I made a companion, he's working fine but has the grey head issue. So I turn him into an .esm and try to use ctrl+f4 to export the face gen data and nothing happens. So, I too was wondering if there was a cick and point way of doing this or if there's a problem with the keyboard mapping. I also disabled all my face and body mods and my game is patched to the latest version.
