  1. Thank you for the replies! It turns out the issue was in fact because I was using an outdated version of Robert's Male. I honestly was not aware that a newer version was available. Goes to show how out of the loop I am. Applied the new textures and now my Saints and Seducers are looking significantly better. I was honestly unaware of the fact that the same meshes apply to all individuals of the same sex, although it certainly explains a lot of the issue I was having. I appreciate the help.
  2. Oh great. Time to break out my decade-old account. Oh joy. To give a basic rundown of what's been happening, lately I've been into Oblivion again (probably in part thanks to how much time I have to spend at home these days), and became interested in trying new mods. Using my limited modding experience, I created a simple mod for myself that makes Golden Saints/Dark Seducers/Dremora into playable races. In case the information is relevant, the playable versions of the races are technically unique races, just identical to the NPCs, making it so that I could give them their own abilities without affecting the NPC individuals. The mod itself works great, but I've encountered an issue with how textures are displaying, specifically the male Saints and Seducers. I believe the issue is as a result of a conflict with Robert's Male Body Replacer. (https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/14942) This mod actually created a conflict with another race mod I had downloaded, which I was able to fix by simply linking the new races to the vanilla textures. However, my Saints and Seducers are both using the vanilla textures themselves, but now the textures are loading in such a way that they give the males of both races a particularly splotchy appearance with visible seams. Females are fine. I will provide some screenshots to demonstrate the issue. I will be including those as a hyperlink to an Imgur album because the image feature seems to be very finicky. https://imgur.com/a/udO7AG6 I think the worst part is that the same textures are now being applied to the NPC individuals as well. Not that male Golden Saints and Dark Seducers are particularly common by any means, but still. I am using the Steam version of Oblivion, which I know can have some conflicts with mods. Usually I have been able to find some workarounds, but in this case, I have tried resetting timestamps, archive invalidation, and changing load order in OBMM. None of these have had any success. Admittedly I am not particularly skilled in this sort of thing, and I think I have exhausted all options that I know of. I understand that Oblivion is an old game and many of its mods are old, although I'm not sure if that would make any difference in this case. So that's about it. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could provide some help. I know it's not exactly a game breaking issue, as the mod still functions fine. It's just not very visually appealing. If you need any more information, just let me know. :D
  3. The problem seems to have resolved itself now. I am not a vampire (and the problem only occurred inside a cave anyway), and as far as I know, I hadn't activated any poison traps. I did fortify my health, however, so I'm assuming that's what the problem was. Well, thanks for the help.
  4. So just today I started encountering a very strange glitch. For whatever reason on my autosave, my character dies for an unexplained reason whenever I try to rest. One hour or twenty-four hours, it happens no matter how long I rest for. Fortunately the problem only seems to be on my autosave. I returned to the main save for that character, thinking it would fix the problem, and it did for a while. But then it returned again a short while later. Does anyone know what causes this problem and/or how it can be fixed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I personally find the lore as interesting as playing the games themselves. You can learn lore from certain books in the game, or look at this lore page from UESP Wiki: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Main_Page The history section lists significant events of Tamriel. Hope I helped.
  6. So, here's the problem that's going on. About a month ago, I made a new Skyrim character and just discovered recently that this character won't say the full three words of any Shout. Not any. Even when I know all three words, and no matter how long I hold down the button, only the first two words come out. I checked to see if I had the third word unlocked in those Shouts, and apparently I do. :armscrossed: I only have one other Skyrim character, and this one says all three words to each Shout. So I'm not sure what the problem is with my new character, or how to fix it. I'm afraid it will break some part of the Main Quest if I cannot say all three words of one Shout or another (such as when I have to use the Call Dragon Shout to call Odahviing). Does anyone know what I can do about this problem? And if it helps to know, I also play Skyrim on the X-Box.
  7. Here's what I usually play as: Race: Preferably Argonian or Khajiit, but sometimes the Elven races. I've always liked playing as animal-like races. And I like the Argonian's water-breathing abilities and Khajiit being skilled in stealth. Class: Mostly combat or stealth classes. I've always liked to sneak up on enemies and shoot them with arrows when they can't detect me. Though I will use swords and daggers as well. Birthsign: The Steed, as I like to go fast! ;D Gender: Usually female, because I am female in real life. Sometimes I will play as a male character, though.
  8. I've been into playing Morrowind more lately. Today though, while I was playing it, I opened the menu that shows the character's skills and inventory and things like that. I saw that the spot where my character's spells and enchanted items are listed was completely gone. So I thought that maybe I accidentally did something to it, and went back to the previous autosave. I opened the menu again and the spells were still gone! I then figured that maybe it was just the character that had the problem, so I opened up another save game with a different character. I opened the menu again, and the spells were STILL gone! :wallbash: I have a mod that affects a few of the races' powers and abilities, so I unchecked that mod to see if that would do anything. But it didn't! :wallbash: Can someone tell me what caused this and how to fix it!? Edit: I forgot to mention that I can equip enchanted items, but their enchantments don't work.
  9. I starting trying to start Skyrim from the Steam folder since I was getting a "This game is currently unavailable" error popping up every time. But now when I try to start it from the Steam folder, I get a new error that says: Failed to initialize renderer. ShaderModel3 required but not supported by your video card. I do not really know what this means. Does anyone else know?
  10. So I just got Skyrim yesterday. I installed it and got a Steam account for it, but whenever I try to start the actual game, I get this error popping up every time that says: This game is currently unavailable. Please try again at another time. Can someone figure out what the problem is? This is my first time playing a game where I had to have a Steam account for, so I don't know much about it at the moment.
  11. I just had this idea for a mod today, which is sounds that you hear in Ayleid Ruins and forts could echo to add more realism. Such as combat sounds echoing. I don't know how easy or hard it would be to make a mod like that, but it would be interesting. What does everyone else think of this?
  12. one known cause for this is somehow the shivering Isles esp gets unchecked It doesn't seem to be in the Data Files anywhere. How do I check the esp again? And do you know what to do about the problem with KotN?
  13. So I decided to try to complete the Shivering Isles storyline again, so I went to the Strange Door. However, instead of what was supposed to be there, there were just a bunch of missing meshes symbols all over the place. The two NPCs (The guard and the Khajiit) that are supposed to be in front of the door are swimming around instead. When I talk to them, they have no audible voice or any mouth movement animation. This is something that has never happened on my computer before, and I want to figure out how to get the Shivering Isles to work again. I can still play Knights of the Nine, but all the icon textures for items from Knights of the Nine are blurred. I am wondering if these two problems are both caused by the same thing. How can I get the Shivering Isles to work again, and for icon textures from Knights of the Nine to no longer be blurred?
  14. I am just finishing up on a mod. In the mod, at one part, you find three dead NPCs, but every time I've tested the mod, they are standing up and floating a little bit off the ground. The other bug is that at one point, some NPCs are supposed to be fighting on each other's side against the player character. But for some reason, they turn on each other, even though they're all a part of the same faction. They do all have an aggression level of 100. How do I fix these?
