Why are my worldspace object LODs getting screwed up
UnknownX12 replied to acidzebra's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Trying to do LOD generation while the scene is loaded is a surefire way to make the CK crash for me. I usually just load a small interior cell, then generate for the worldspace I want. And NEVER save after that - it'll kill your heightmaps. It's all kinds of buggy, but you can work around it :) So you dont save, just close the Ck and reload everything and the LOD files are placed in the right folder? -
You mean you just scale it up withing the editor?
-
Disable all mods and enable one mod after another and test it out, which one causes the bug. Then think wheather this mod could be in conflict with another one (because it changes similiar stuff). That's how you usually fix such bugs, which occure due to many mods being active.

I would do it exactly like that aswell. No reason why it shouldn't work ;)

Why are my worldspace object LODs getting screwed up

Are you using Vista, or why do you use the CK for Object LOD? -
Also, what are your specs and what are you loading? Only the skyrim-masterfile? Or also a big worldspace? For example: 2 GB ram+skyrim master + 4kx4k Worldspace = crash in Ck (with 4 GB ram loading is no problem). Also: Do what was told u from in the 2nd post (i think): Do not click ANYWHERE. Load Ck, get away from the Comp, have a smoke/s***/drink come back and enjoy it. If this does not work, let us know again.

Lol wow, I will try this out tomorrow. Thx so much mate. Kudos for you.

Thx for the answer. I tried this but got a crash. I wil lretry it again, perhaps it will work then. If anyone know how to view the weather in the CK let me know.
-
But i just cant imagine that the great weather mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17802 was made by this timeconsuming method.... Does hlp work for you? My game keeps crashing when i use it. If you could tell me, what you enter in console to get this thing to work, would be nice ;)

Hey there, working on a new worldspace and when i wanted to create a river by lowering the land, water appears. default land height is 0 default water height is: -14000 default Lod water height is: -14000 I played around with the water heights, but the water is not changing, this means: I started with land heigth: 0 and def. water height: -100. Placed lots of s*** and mountains etc. and then i recognized, that the groundwater is too high. And even by lowering the def. water height value, in the CK it just stayed where it was. Or does the water change then ingame but the CK does not show it right? Kinda frustrating atm.

Kind of confused as to what you are asking? are you saying in the creation kit you are in a certain area/cell and you changed the weather in that area and now you want to jump in game to see it? or you want to see that weather inside the creation kit? Well, the fastest way would be to see the actually weather as a preview in the CK. Is this possble? (So for example: I change the sunlight colour to "pink" and wanna see now in the CK how everything is illuminated by the new sunlight colour.) And if not: What is the fastest way to do it ingame? I would say with the hlp (hot laod plugin) function? So i am in the area at a specific time (ingame), change the weather in Ck+save, go back in the game and hlp the plugin to see the changes. Is this how you would do it? Hope the question is more clear now. If not, let me know.

Hey there, is it possible to immediately see the changes one has done to a specific weather? Because: Changing settings, laoding plugin in skyrim, change some settings again, load plugin again etc. is quite slow. So how do you do this? Or is the only option I have the hotload plugin function? greetz.

Well I also tried to import a heigthmap with really low brightness and still my mountains were so unimaginable high.....Perhaps DigitalZombie cann tell us more ;)
-
Well: Thx for being helpful. But I played 2 days around with geoControl, TESAnnwyn and i managed ti import a heightmap with it. But this heightmap had some troubles (mountains were so freaking high, although i turned down the brightness for my heigthmap to such a degree, that it should have been rly flat), so i decided to start without one. I dont want to rebuilt any special place, so it is ok ;)

Importing Heightmaps for custom Worldspace
UnknownX12 replied to Hellscreamy's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You alrdy have the right tutorial on your hands. The question ist, why you did not follow it to the end? Why didn't you use TESAnnwyn to creat a working .esp? I managed to import a heightmap just 2 days ago, when i also bothered with it (but then i decided to f*** this heightmapping and just do everythign in the editor), by using TESAnnwyn and directly load my heightmap as an finished esp. Just never try to use the heightmap-editor from the Ck. Never. NEVER. Btw: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/808537-importing-heightmaps-for-custom-worldspace/page__p__6506844__fromsearch__1#entry6506844 Perhaps you can ask that guy, who offered me some help, to help you instead ;) -

Hey there, wanted to start building a new world and I wanted to know how you create & import heigthmaps. I found this good tutorial about it: http://hoddminir.blogspot.de/2012/02/from-heightmap-to-worldspace-in-skyrim.html How do you do it? Is Ck bugging because of heightmaps? How is the Ck in general about new worlds: Bugging or doing fine? Which size you you recommend? Furthermore: DOes anyone has experiences about creating LOD for a new Worldspace? Wiki says one needs 3rd party programs and desribes it well, but just wanna hear your experiences. Thx for replies.

*bump* same Problem here. Anyone knows some help?

Uhm i just started with the CK, i didnt try the landscape in Skyrim, yet. Sry. But when i will try it out (perhaps tomorrow) I will report here.
-
What do u mean? Ingame or in the renderwindow?
-
Hey guys. First of all, i am rly new to modding (although i built maps for CS years ago ^^). Atm i just want to create a new landscape, not a room or something. So how can I actually do that? Cause i rly like shaping landscapes and perhaps I will use it later, or give it away. With the existing "Tamriel" for example, its no problem to modifie the ground, built new plateaus, fill the space with stuff, etc. But I just dont know how to start and i dont want to load an existing file of Skyrim (like Tamriel itself for example), but start form the very beginning. Was reading through Wiki and this forum and also google didnt bring me the right results. So I think my issue can be solved very quickly. I am very thankful for help ;) Thx and greeting. Edit: So its all about this i think: http://www.creationkit.com/World_Spaces Edit2: OK i found out how it works: Edit -->Wolrd SPace -->Right CLick "New"

Hey Syon, I also thought about creating own skyrim animations, yet i have no clue about animations. But i am willing to learn ;) You will probably start with blender. Just go to yt and search for some anim tuts. Also google will help you out. For example "Fallout 3 Animation". It wont be much different in skyrim then in F3. Best way is to import alrdy existing anims and alter them, so u can save youself lots of work and it would be the best start i think. At least this will be what i will do ^^ Tomorrow I will start my first blender anim tutorial, but till then: Gn8
