Just a quick question...
rainshock replied to sullensaviour's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
You wouldn't be able to use it on a female elf unless you or someone else scales the hair model to be female elf sized. So either you'd have to learn how to mod hair meshes or contact the mod author. Sorry :/ -
If you are trying to make it an item you have to create or edit a Model Variation GDA (In your case longsword_variation.gda"). Basically make a copy of "longsword_variation.gda" and rename it to "longsword_variation_("your text here").gda" Open it with GDApp or another GDA editor. Delete all rows except the first one (0-invalid). Add a new row and use This Page to fill in the blanks. Place the new .gda in the override folder. *I thought there was a tutorial on the bioware social site but I cant seem to find it.

As far as I know, Dracomies is working on it. Don't know if its been released to the public yet. Edit: Ah, TMP, my mistake.
-
I'd go for a flintlock pistol or musket. Maybe one day I'll look into it.
-
Hahaha. I've run into these problems a couple of times myself which is how I keep recognizing them. Hope you can get it fixed. :)

Hmmm. Check your normals and you normal map. Also do you think I could see your mao file.

dyeable blood dragon armor for UDK
rainshock replied to FallenHeroX's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
I don't have the blood dragon armor or else I would do it since it's a really easy fix. you do know that every copy of dragon age comes with a redemption code for it right? though id recommend you get dragon age ultimate edition anyways still if you ever do get blood dragon armor itd be nice to have this request done Not if your copy is not new. Anyway, if you send me the texture I'll edit it and send it back to you. Don't know if I can upload it for copyright reasons. P..S. I'm not buying dragon age a third time. No matter what dlc they pack it with :/ -

Hahaha, you weren't kidding about the giant shiny thank you . Well, Thank you for the "Thank You". Glad you got everything figured out and hopefully I get to see more mods coming from you in the future. :)
-
Very glad that I was able to help you sort everything out. If you have any more problems come up, feel free to ask and I'll see what I can do. Good luck with the rest of your project :D

From what I can tell, the mmh, msh, etc. files are all fine. Is the model pale white and stuck in the arms-out pose, because I think I may have figured out the problem by going through the included MAO files. You didn't change the Material or Semantic when you created it. It was left as Weapon.mat and Default. You might want to fix it in notepad or change it and re-export it from max. Pic attached for reference.
-
Couldn't open the max files(says I'm missing plugins ) do you think you could send me obj's or fbx's
-
Got them downloaded. I'll start on it later on today.
-
It was no problem at all :) And I've gotten really fast at the whole model adjustment/import/export thing. And thanks for the kudos.
-
Got the cuirass working no problem. There's a few clipping spots on the model you might want to look at. If you could tell me how you want the files named I can finish the other armor parts and send them to you for editing.
-
Awww, Don't give up. If you want I could take a look at the files and see If I can help you out.

Model not showing on toolset
rainshock replied to malkava's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Builder Troubleshooting
Open the mmh with the toolset. The name of your mao file should be listed under under MMH_MATERIAL_OBJECT and (in some cases) MMH_MATERIAL_LIBRARY. Edit: Oh and if renamed all the model files make sure you rename them in the Mmh as well. That's more likely your problem than the mao name. Make sure you edit "MMH_NAME" and "MMH_MODEL_HIERARCHY_MODEL_DATA_NAME" to reflect any changes you made to your file names. -
Model not showing on toolset
rainshock replied to malkava's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Builder Troubleshooting
Oh, okay then. Second guess: is it correct that your maos are named "w_lsw_irorl.mmh_0" and not w_lsw_irorl_0.mao? Or is that another typo. Also, in case you haven't already, make sure both the meshes are paired with the correct mao file in the mmh. Otherwise I'm stumped  -

Shouldn't it be 'w_lsw_irorl_0" and not LWS. Don't know if the typo is just on these forums or in your filename. You might want to check. -

[Question] About retex an armor - plans for new mods
rainshock replied to edriano's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
You should be alright as long as you don't use the assets for another game or try to sell it. -
DA2 in DAO/Awakening MOD Request
rainshock replied to RyuuichiK's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Mod Ideas
Sounds interesting. I might give this a try later on. I could probably make a Qunari body model and maybe a hairstyle with horns. -
HF headmorphs on EF characters?
rainshock replied to Najes's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
Short Answer: No. -
There isn't one beyond the modder fixing the issue. It's not a mod conflict, the armors/robes/etc are missing their levels of detail. To save cpu and ram, Dragon Age to lower resolution models when a character reaches a certain distance from the screen. If the model doesn't have the files for the different LODs then it uses the Dragon Age defaults. With nude bodies, the character will switch back to default dragon age body after a certain distance. With armors and robes, the body contorts and animates weird. There's nothing you can do to fix it unless you edit the mmh's yourself.\ The problem in picture 2 is a seam and there's nothing you can do about that either. Unless you know how to model or edit textures.
