What is your biggest Fallout 3 Confession?
pawzseven replied to SkyEmerald's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
gosh.. I am shocked at all these confessions.. such depravity! Me, I am squeaky-clean, a proper haloed karma type goody-goody - I give pure water to the beggars, I rescue wastelanders from the clutches of the mutants.. I practically float I am so saintly - but I too have a confession.. I am a COWARD! There, I said it! See, in RL I am a little old lady and my reflexes and brain jus don't work fast enough to guarantee my reactions will keep me ahead ( I found that out in STALKER - three scary games there, espesh if you have the misery mod), so, I cheat. I have a stealth suit on right from the get-go ( thankyou Commander Darwin), and I NEVER take it off (well, maybe when i am safely in my hidey-hole and want to take a bath) - how's that for cowardice - else I would be dead at the first raider attack. Just to make sure, I have two armed little eye-bot followers to distract the enemy, and ol Ugly-mug Fawkes after RR. I ensure I have a high sneak value, though to be fair I do make it 'realistic' in FWE and I keep my guns and clothing in top condition. They simply don't see me comin' and I can pick 'em off while my followers distract them - perfect!- 26 replies

maybe I have answered my own question. When I was in the main game, I had to uninstall a mod called Bobblehead Quest before the game could go to Broken Steel. After I got into BS, I reinstalled it. I have just uninstalled that again, and Fawkes is now using a gun once more. I still have DC Interiors as an active mod, so it wasn't that. Good.. hopefully problem solved. Cheesy grin, over and out. oohhh... all was as it should be while inside the Enclave satellite station, but as soon as we got out, Fawkes was back to fighting wild dogs and scorpions with his fists.. perhaps it isn't to do with my mod after all.. back to drawing board..

I did install DCInteriors recently, otherwise nothing much has changed, both his guns are in good order, so it isn't that - is it just a glitch? Restarting the game or going back a few saves does not solve it. Can I equip him via a console command do you know?

ahh, helpful. I shall try to remember that when I go over there again. Thank you. :)

DC Interiors - Disabling Pawn shop Alarm
pawzseven replied to robotnikFTW's topic in Fallout 3's Spoilers
spot on that man! :) -
nobodies got nuttin it seems Mirocu - you are waaayyy ahead of me, though I have been playing this game for years and lost count of how many times I have started again. At present I am only at level 13, and just beginning the BS expansion, off to help Liberty Prime up at the Rocklands tunnel with my merry band of followers. I have had the DC INteriors mod for many years but never thought it was more than more empty buildings to access, until I came on here and found that actually there are 30 drunken gnomes scattered around for the player to find in these new interiors - and you get loads more junk to sell which is not normally available. I have found my first gnome, and it was not easy, but it is fun - makes a change from shooting everything that moves....ohhh... just seen that you are banned. that is disappointing, explains why there are no new posts though :(

purr4me, you probably have got it sorted now, or given up entirely, so this may be redundant advice, but here is my penn'orth. I use FOMOD, not Nexus and I download manually and I am playing on a Windows Seven PC. I had the same problem and for me it was to do with mods. Deactivating the whole list of mods worked and I got the 'Two Weeks Later' screen - but that meant I had to reinstall all my mods and so I lost all my gear and bobbleheads stored in my player home, so that wasn't good. The next option was to deacivate mods one at a time, a long and wearisome prospect, but I hit lucky it seems as the very first mod I deactivated was one called Bobblehead Quest, right at the top of my mod list, and that worked.

hee, I am not the only one looking high and low for Willy the wine-o. What a great mod this is - I thought it was 'just' interiors and never bothered with it until I came on here couple days back. For me it is much more interesting to have things to find than go round killing things - and I get lots of extra junk to sell on as well. Really pleased. Thank you Mr Modder!

yes, done the circular logic, done the ZAX, done the leaving him alone. No mention of destroying the enclave issued from those decisions. The circular logic only came round once as well. Oh well, I don't think I will try again - been back into RR after I left, thanks to a mod and also the console collisions off option, quite interesting to explore and grab a few other goodies, but time to move on even if my curiosity never gets met.Thank you for your kind response.

In conversation with President Eden, he seemed to suggest to me that he would be willing to destroy the Enclave if I agreed to his request. I did not pursue that option, preferring a more abrupt conclusion, but then I wondered how things would have gone if I had agreed to that course of action. To that end I reloaded the game several times to get another chat with him, but he never offered that scenario again. What would have happened I wonder, if Eden had started to destroy the Enclave ( and how exactly would he have done it)? The Enclave need to be around for Broken Steel. Anyone know please? Could not find any info on that option on the FO3 fan webpages. Ta :)

how to shut Sergeant Rock eyebot up
pawzseven replied to pawzseven's topic in Fallout 3's GECK and Modders
hee, well, I don't quite know what I did, but I now have two Frazzles following me about - I uninstalled Sgt Rock. Maybe I won't have two next time I go in, but if I do, my problem will be fixed. -
once, in the dim and distant past I had a play with GECK and did not get very far. I tried to get it installed and updated today, on Windows 7, and it could not complete the update because a (library?) file was missing. My problem is that I have an adorable eyebot follower, one of a pair, who I regard as essential, but he constantly plays news and songs from GNR, and really I just want him to be quiet. I did eventually achieve this goal and all was quiet (bliss!), but I do not know how - it wasn't through altering the script. A few days ago my gaming machine (i5) went into terminal decline, and I have had to move everything over to another similar machine and start over. Sgt Rock is back in full voice again. The author of that mod did make a quiet Sgt Rock, but that mod seems not to be available anymore. I use FOMM for Fallout 3. Can anyone give me a hint or a tip as to how I can fix this please? I am computer savvy, but I am not a modder.... aha, I have GECK installed properly now - but not a clue as to how it can help me modify the script for Sgt Rock. Have the tutorial from Bethesda.. just a pointer from someone who knows about these things would be wunnerful! Hmm, the Tutorial is all about creating a new plugin - what I want is to know how to modify a current script so that dear little Sgt Rock will stop spewing out old songs from GNR .......help! please..

Harbertown, as I recall, one could download expansions and updates, maybe also scripts and/or mods (can't remember that) etc via the dedicated Egosoft X-Universe website, maybe this link? http://www.egosoft.com/download/index_en.php perhaps that is what you are mis-remembering? They have a good and ongoing forum for each of the games in the series on that site as well.

how to stop GNR songs ( or change them)
pawzseven replied to pawzseven's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
Frazzle and Sgt Rock - but the latter is not the problem. I have just put a mod on which ( I think) replaces the sound files from GNR with blank files, so for now it is peaceful and Frazzle is not saying or playing anything from GNR (bliss), but I have tried other ways of getting rid of the music files, and it has appeared to work for that session, but the next time I load the game, GNR is back, even when there has been no song file in the Data folder - so I am half expecting that the same thing will happen this time - I will know tomorrow..... yay - tomorrow has come and the airwaves are still free of GNR... hope this will fix it for keeps; one happy ol lady :) -
how to stop GNR songs ( or change them)
pawzseven replied to pawzseven's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
it is off, the music and updates are coming via a companion eyebot, not the radio.... -
hello, been trying to shut 3Dog up as my companion eyebot is constantly playing music or giving me news updates - and I prefer to wander the wastes in peace and quiet. I thought it would be simple enough - just rename the song folder in Data - and that did seem to work for one session, but then the songs and news came back again. Eventually I decided if I can't beat them I will join them, so downloaded a mod giving 100 new songs, but then thought, no, not what I want. Then I found a mod which described how to replace the standard songs with your own music. Tried that, and the songs I chose play fine when i click on the files, but do not figure in the game, so, finally I removed the entire song folder from Data - and it is STILL playing the old songs even though there is no folder in Data .. so where are they? in the .BSA? If someone can point me to a solution I would be most appreciative! well, have found that the songs are indeed held in the BSA sounds archive file, and have downloaded a tool and found out how to create a new BSA archive, but haven't got much further as not sure what to do - music files are already compressed, and do not know correct format; mp3, wav or .ogg is required, or how I put new files into the archive in correct order and syntax. I am no modder, so would be grateful for a pointer - or do I just give up? I have tried not having the sound BSA at all, but then I miss the sound of the wind in the trees ( yes I have leafy trees in my game) and the whirr of my little buddies as they follow me around... I ..just..want..to..get..RID..of, or replace..the 1930/40's boring........SONGS!!

actually, I think I am in the wrong place...even though it says it is the Presidents metro, there is another place I need to go back to, which I overlooked - just seen it on a youtube vid. That will hopefully get me where I need to go..
-
I have, at last, found the door to the Presidents metro tunnel, but it will not work without power AND I need a key I think. I have visited everywhere local I can find on the map and cannot work out where to go next, Can anyone give me a small clue perhaps??

thanks ChowChow - I have Calibr in my mods list, did not realise what it was for. possibly the limitless ammo applies to particular weapons - and in a new game I just have a .32 pistol to start with just a few bullets - if I was to pick up a Sten or some other bigger weapon, perhaps the ammo would show in much larger quantities... The how to install mods link I shall look at ( thankyou) as what I am getting now when I click on FMM doesn't seem to match what I remember doing before. I think I used to have to click on File Manager option, and then browse to where the mod is on the hard drive, then put the contents into the right window, do something else, and then something else, and would see a list over to the left, then I would activate, or do the Archive Validation thing,is it? and I would see the mod appear in the list to the right, confirming it was active... those windows and tasks do not seem to be there now, so I will take a look at the link to refresh my mind - thank you. :) BTW, I take it you love Chowchows - we are G.S.D folk - but all dogs are lovely whatever their breed or mix :)

hello folks, haven't played Fallout3 for a couple of years now. Started it up again, and all the mods are in place - wonderful - but I felt I needed to start a new game. That has started OK, and I have my mini hide out and my two robot companions BUT, I no longer have huge amounts of ammo. I have looked in my mods list and there is nothing there about limitless ammo. The other problem is that I cannot quite remember how to install new mods using FOMM. Can you help an old foggy brain on either of these subjects please?? ps the title should read 'mod for lots of ammo', of course

Hello all, I am not yet in trouble, and hoping someone here will remind me what I need to do to get Oblivion going again, on a 64 bit machine, with Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul added (through the Oblivion mod manager?) I seem to remember there was something about archive invalidation I had to get as well. I am hoping my copy of OOO, which is many years old now will still be OK - if not, can I still get it? Also, I heard that there was going to be some sort of mod update to more modern graphics for Oblivion and Morrow wind - did that happen, and if it did would there be a problem if I had OOO on there? thank you in hope

thank you for the warning vic, noted. Haven't snuk into G.E.C.K yet, and actually the respawn isn't a problem at present as I am still wandering around the basic game area to map it out, and apart from clearing out raiders in Springvale, on the flyover nearby and at the Super-Duper Mart, haven't done any quests this time around. I don't want to have to go over the same quests as come in the main plot - German Town, Grayditch, Lamplight, Paradise Falls etc, so want to mark out places I haven't been before. I feel quite brave with my two little eyebot warriors, and took on Evergreen Mills, but the Suoer Mutant Behemoth took ALL my ammo, from several weapons, to kill, so doing some scavving and opportunistic looting at present, which in FWE doesn't give a lot. Ho hum.
