  1. ...or they post them in both places because they want to give their users options as to what's most convenient for them? Patches are made to benefit mod users...
  2. I can live with the updated rules for now, but I have to say this all still feels arbitrary in the first place. A very messy line in the sand to draw that no one in good faith asked for. But being able to post patches for people who request them is all I wanted so alright. DavidJCobb sums up my feelings better than I can:
  3. The irony of all this to me is it in no way hurts mod authors, or people in the VC program, because we and they know how to patch things for ourselves. The only people it hurts is mod users who don't know how to do these things and rely on patches of others to use all the content they want to use together without issue. And yet still I see mod users applauding the banning of patches. My god.
  4. On the topic, I would like to ask if mods for other "controversial" content is going to be deemed untouchable? Games with microtransactions? GTA V has made around half a billion last I checked. Games with a ludicrous money investment for the complete game+DLC (Looking at you, Sims 4)? Games that the community feels cheated by? (No Man's Sky comes to mind, though I hear it's better now.) Or is it just content made by the community that's no-go, and corporate made stuff is A-OK?
  5. Are you under the impression that Nexus is non-profit and they don't make money off of the free labor of authors?
  6. That is a poor comparison to make. No one is complaining that Bard's College Expansion doesn't have an SKSE dependancy. Nexus has been making money off mod authors work for how many years before DP existed? Do we even know the split they give authors? I don't see you asking for that info or championing mod authors rights here. This change does nothing but hurt mod users who don't care about all this drama and just want their mods to work together.
  7. I'm wanting to cobble together a simpler survival mode for myself. I've got very basic hunger, thirst, and sleep needs all scripted, but I'm thinking I want cold survival as well. Since Frostfall SE has some lingering issues (and is much fancier than I want), that leaves me with Survival Mode. The CC Survival Mode has a lot of bulk that I'm not interested in, so I fired up xEdit and stripped it all out. I've left all the cold elements and it's related scripting. It seems to be running well in-game. All heat sources are detected as normal, and the day/night cold transitions are working. Now, I've never done this before with any mod so I'm concerned that I'm committing a novice mistake; that it's common knowledge that stripping out features you don't want from a mod wont work that simply, and I just never got that memo. Any advice or anecdotes? (Disclaimer: Obviously this is for personal use, not something I'm wanting to release.)
  8. In response to post #50367272. #50371062 is also a reply to the same post. Ahhhh I love you guys!! Thank you for the mention!! <3
  9. Sorry, I am frustrated. I'm trying to add just warmer looking light sources to the Hall of Attainment. But no matter what I do, I can't seem to keep them from making a diagonal room turn red. Even when I hit L, none of the radius' are overlapping each other so I just don't get it. I'll likely just go back to vanilla lighting.
  10. Skyrim: SE: Is there some secret tricks I don't know of to decently light up a place without having too many light sources touching each other like the perverts they are? Or is lighting this freakin' aggravating?
  11. So... I know jack about nifs, textures, etc. I have the artistic talent of a potato. I've only used modders resources for my mods... annnd I'm having trouble figuring out why a potion mesh is freaking the heck out in-game (twitching colors on the mesh). The CK tells me errors were reported in the NIF, but that's not much to go on. Does anyone know what exactly Skyrim: SE (and by extension Fallout 4 I imagine) did to NIFs? And could anyone point me in the right direction to perhaps fix this?
