  1. So I am working on an installer for my Font Overhaul mod, and am trying to allow for the ability to choose which fonts you want for what. In order for this to work, I have to modify specific lines of an ini file for each type of font that is changed independently from one another. Anybody have suggestions for this? I would prefer to keep it NMM installer compatible, but I don't know of a way to do this without external scripts, bat files, exe, etc. Any help would be appreciated and I'll gladly give credit where it's due.
  2. I am looking in to replacing various fonts in the menus, but for the life of me I cannot get the .swf files converted properly for flash to load. Currently I am using JPEXS Free Flash Decompiler to convert to .fla and loading into Flash CS 5.5. I tried Flash CC 2015, but get errors that ActonScript 2.0 s not supported. So far I have got the books.swf file to open and even saving it unmodified makes all books read the same generic placeholder text. Everything that I have done so far is all based on trial and error as I have found no documentation on modifying the UI, so please, tell me how incredibly wrong I am and help a poor fella out! Thanks for taking the time to read this. UPDATE: I have managed to get the fonts changed, but they no longer align correctly. The spacing is way off, any ideas on correcting this?
  3. Can you post your load order and and SKSE plugins you may be using that you haven't mentioned. I feel as if it has to be a script causing the issue.
  4. Always clean your Master files when using this many mods. Also always sort via loot, unless you really know what you are doing. Always look for compatibility patches for any mods you may use. Always clean the mods LOOT suggests you should clean unless specified by the mod author not to. Always create a bashed patch and re-create it after any load order changes. If any problems persist after that, look into creating a merged patch for any mods that may be incompatible, or just remove incompatible mods altogether. Anything beyond that point may just be a case of save bloat.
  5. So basically I have been planning a modding guide similar to step for quite some time, my only problem at this point is finding a way to host the thing. I do know enough HTML and css to do a basic site and all that, but the amount of work that entails is just not something I am not inclined to sink in to something like this, at least until I find whether or not it is successful. I guess what I am getting at is does anyone know of a way I could host something, probably in a wiki format, either free or on a limited budget. I know I could host from home, but my ISP is strict on that matter, and I do know of some wiki sites, but they are not very accomodating to this style of site. And if you have any suggestions for simplifying something like this (website templates, frameworks, etc) all suggestions are appreciated.
  6. Are you using the new super resolution feature? You may be running it at a higher resolution and downscaling to your monitors resolution. Also, try running your CPU at its stock speed, Skyrim is picky with that.
  7. Laptops really aren't made for serious gaming. I'd like to help, but I don't believe there is a real solution to this. I've seen this question a few too many times wit hno answer.
  8. Enter console [~] and click on Paarthurnax. Get his ID. Enther the following command. setrelationshiprankplayer <ID> <#> -Changes the relationship between a player and the target 1=acquaintance, 2=confidant, 3=ally, 4=lover That SHOULD work.
  9. I would recommend buying a can of compressed air and blowing out the fan. It's common that dust collects on the heatsink and fan. Make sure you blow air through both the intake and outlet for the fan, and any other places that are slotted for ventalation. Aside from that, just make sure you are set up on a hard surface so you don't block the intake. If the problem persists from that point, you probably need a cooling pad. Good luck!
  10. Try Imaginator. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/13049/? and use the MCMenu controls for ease of use. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35581/? Hope that helps!
  11. If you are using mod organizer, be sure to load TESVedit and LOOT from inside MO. I suspect load order is the main culprate. My usual steps when modding includes: Clean Masters Install all unofficial patches, SKSE with memory patch ini tweak, and ENB with memory and bug fixes only. Sort Mods via LOOT Clean mods that LOOT suggests you clean. Look for any mods out of order and manually order/ add rules in loot. Create a bashed patch via Wrye bash.I rarely ever have crashes, and my load order is bigger than most peoples. Things to note, use a default ini unless a mod can't funtion correctly otherwise (SFO and ENB graphics modifications for example), unless you are very certain about what the tweaks do and you properly research each change. Also, you must rebuild the bashed patch after ANY change to your load order, so it's best to leave it unchecked during testing. Hope I have been some help!
  12. Thanks guys! I think my mind is made up, ugrids 7 seems to be the right choice. I tested some events that occur on cell load, and I don't think it's that much more likely to miss them, and surprisingly the frame rate is still capped at 60 anywhere I go with my crazy load order. As far as that load order goes, I'll be sure to check out all of the ones I'm not familiar with, you have some good ones in there!
  13. It's hard to tell without your load order. Make sure you run loot and sort your mods. Also could be a script heavy mod causing a sort of lag with event detection in certain areas. Does this happen when you start a new game?
  14. 100% Certain the video card is the culprate. That card was never intended for serious gaming.
  15. I saw that, and that is what I have been following for the most part. I have ran 7 before, and it seemed successful. My whole problem is I am afraid of losing gamesaves after many hours of play, especially since I plan to live stream a lot of gameplay in the near future. I do appreciate the feedback, and I seem to have found similar conclusions afer some more research. I guess my real question is you haven't had any quests bugs either? Thanks!
  16. The only real definitive test is to run the new card on it's own. If it is slow or buggy, get it replaced. If it works fine, I'll help you troubleshoot from there, it's my actual job. :p PS: Skynet haha
  17. First off, SSME is no longer needed when running SKSE. That could be your first problem. Also try verifying your game cache through steam and if all else fails try backing up and resetting your skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini.
  18. Probably missing some compatibility patches with Dragonborn DLC. A lot of mods require them. Post your load order, that will help a lot.
  19. I may be wrong, but I think if you run NMM once, it will ask you to associate it with the nexus mod site immediately. I'm pretty sure it always say download with manager, regardless of what mod manager you use.
  20. Try running with only the new card installed. If it runs slowly, you may have picked up a defective card. Especially if the symptoms carry over to other games. Also it's worth mentioning that a lower bandwidth slot shouldn't affect it that much, but it is also chipset dependant.
  21. Unless you are super pro at load order, it is a terrible idea to not run boss/loot. I hope you order them manually at least.
  22. Load a previous save, or test with a new save. Could be an orphaned script dealing with AI, that could freeze them. If either one of those works, try backing up your save and running a gamesave cleaner that can clean scripts. Also make sure your load order is correct if you have even a few mods installed. Running loot should fix that.
  23. I'll just start by saying that I am not new to modding Skyrim, but I am new to the aspect of having a high end rig. What I want to know is what kinds of experiences people have had with raising your uGrids settings. I'm less interested in knowing about crashes as I am glitches, as I tend to believe that most crashes have to deal with memory allocation, load order, mod incompatiilites, and previous bugs that have been "fixed" with mods and patches. I have heard the tales of quests triggering and completing themselves, but have also heard that it primarily happens with a setting of 9 or above. What is your advice? Any information is appreciated! Thanks.
  24. Okay so I have a pretty silly problem. I have been running a set of hard drives in raid 0 for some time now. They are both 100% operational (I work in a computer shop and have tested them). However, they seem to resonate with my case. I have a Fractal Define R4 Blackout, so each tray has rubber grommets already. There is really no chance of me suspending the drives as I have 6 hard drives and one ssd in total and lack the room. With every drive removed except for those two the noise persists, but removing them fixes it. Pushing on the case tends to temporarily fix the issue for a few seconds to maybe even a half hour. I have checked every screw in the entire case and nothing is lose at all. This may not be a huge issue, except I do use this PC for audio and specifically designed it with water cooling to be nearly silent. What I am wondering is if anyone has ran into this issue and have you been able to resolve it without suspending your drives?
  25. Personally I would think that the on-board audio with that motherboard would be better than just about any AC97 card.
