  1. There is a difference between a newbie and a noob? You're pulling my leg, right? :) I am trying to paste text. But I asked on the troubleshooting forum and from what I understand, Internet Explorer does not work with the Nexus site. I don't want Firefox, but it seems I have no choice. *sigh* But I would have a completely different question: As I am working myself slowly through the basic modding guide, I realize that modding takes plenty of space. I wanted to buy a new computer anyways, so I womder, what kind of hard disk space makes sense?
  2. Thanks :) Firefox? Hmm, I will have to wrap my head around that *sigh*
  3. Thanks for the answers. :) If I may ask, though: For the first, since I am not aware to have problems on any other website (granted, I do not post on other websites :) ), which browser settings would I have to look for? For the second, though it is not really important, I somehow thought there was a way to actually have a profile, but then I would keep it from being displayed in every post.
  4. I would have two technical questions about the Nexus Forums: 1. How can I quote? Now, I am aware that there is a "Quote" and a "MultiQuote" button below every post. When I click the "Quote" button, all that happens is that a mouse cursor shows inside the "Reply to this topic" section without a quote. When I click "MultiQuote", the same happens except that then the "MultiQuote" button seems highlighted. I tried to find the topic in the Forums' help section and there it states to "simply click the 'Quote Post Add Reply' button". I do not see such a button. When I click on the "More Reply Options" button, then the Reply section gets a panel with text options like B for bold. In this panel next to the Twitter button there is another quote button in form of a speech bubble. When I click this, it correctly creates a graphical frame for a quote, but it is empty. I would have used this to work around the problem, but I found another problem, which may help identify what is wrong to begin with: I cannot paste (for instance with ctrl-V) in the Forums. The only other potentially useful information I can offer is that I asked around before starting this thread and somebody asked me if I use a Firefox application named "No Script". I do not. I browse with a virgin Internet Explorer. 2. How do I keep my Nexus profile from being displayed in every of my posts on the left side underneath my Forums avatar? Thanks in advance.
  5. I am happy I asked, too :) As for the Quote button not working, I have no clue what "No Script" even is. What I did notice, though, is that I cannot paste inside the "Reply to this topic" box. Maybe this is an indicator for what is wrong.
  6. First and foremost, thanks again for any tips you guys share with me. Awesome. As for quoting, if clicking on the "Quote" button underneath a post would yield any effect at all, I probably could have tweaked it. But it doesn't. It just positions the cursor in the text field of "Reply to this topic" and that's it. If I click on "MultiQuote", then the same happens, except that it also highlights the "MultiQuote" button itself. Any ideas?
  7. I was so into Sims 2 that I decided to start modding. Haha. I wish. Instead, I felt more like a meteor: I careened off the atmosphere and was back in outer space before I even had the chance to go up in flames. In fact, I enjoyed their hospitality so tremendously that I stopped using forums at all ever since. :) Which brings me to a follow-up question: How do I quote in the Nexus forums? The help page states to "simply click the 'Quote Post Add Reply' button". Now, if I were the "Quote Post Add Reply" button, where would I be? As for modding Skyrim, I got the game when it came out and thought it was neat but, quite frankly, bone ugly. As a result, I never really got into the groove. A few days ago I stumbled by sheer coincidence over a short clip of an armor mod on youtube, which looked fantastic. Browsing the Nexus library I understand that I will never have the skill you guys have proven, but I like the idea of making something look better. So, I bring these glass baubles here as gifts. Shiny. All I am asking for is settling this island. Well, that and I'll shoot you, if you come back without helping me through my first winter... And again, thanks so much for all ya'll's answers :)
  8. Just awesome. To be honest, I was afraid to ask, because I thought I would have to sift through a bashing. I would have never expected answers this helpful. Thanks so much.
  9. Please don't be mad if I ask. I never used a mod before. Ever. And I only found this site an hour ago. So, I am not just noob, I actually give noobs a bad name. This being said, my first question is this. I bought and consequently installed Skyrim through Steam. Can I even use mods from the Nexus, and if so, do I have to do something special? The next question is even more basic than this: How do I know, if a mod works with the four official DLCs (three expansions and a texture pack) or, for that matter, any other mods? The last is, what do I do when a new official DLC comes out? Do I somehow un-install the mods, and if so, how? Thanks in advance for not forming a crowd with torches and pitchforks. I am kind of overwhelmed by the whole mod thing and don't know where to begin learning to do it right.
