Greetings: More then what is in the game is how you play the game. Weapons? They get better as you do, unless you cheat. I like the Starmetal Longsword, and the Portable Bulwick Shield. (The sword requires high strength and the shield is expensive.) I could go on.. Doesn't matter. If you play the game through as intended from Bioware, you use the best available weaps, armor and enchantments. If you cheat... Sky's the limit. You really don't have to cheat. You can download new and better content from the site but there still could be requirenments. What's important to me about the game are the choices and the options of storyline (assumed), and how you play it. I suggest you go through the first time not setting up the Development Console nor installing any add-ons. It's a tough game. Play all the different origins, there are what 5(?) different endings. Enjoy!! Note Here: Always have a back up of the OVERRIDE file before installing new content. There can be bad things happen

Well Met: Through my browsing of the files I believe I have seen 3 files that do the following. 1) expand the tactics options beyond the available in the game even with all the needed skills. 2) A file to expand the quickbar, and 3) Make enemies tougher to beat. I havetried the sites file search but it doesn't ever seem to find anything. Any help appreciated. If I'm in the wrong forum, let me know

Somebody need a tutor ?
00bruin11 replied to Aranox's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Builder Troubleshooting
Well Met: I don't, at this point, need a tutor per say. Probably later when I need to get into scripting. What would be very cool is a link to articles or video - I've found a few on youtube but nothing comprehensive. Just bits and pieces of vague "how to's" but nothing that says this is how you do it - whatever it may be. I have several ideas' I would like to work on for new MODS. For example, just before the final battle where you enter the gates of Denerim, after Alistair's' or Anora's speech, you (and each member of your team, including Reordin, Irving, Bann Teagan, Arl Eamon, others perhaps) take command of a squad or company size group of the army you've gathered and charge down the hill through the forest to the gates of Denerim. Could be a cool battle sequence with strategy breaks where you give commands to the men with you to flank or link up with Irvings group of mages. Or, you get a dwarf messenger begging for help because the legion of the dead needs help - side quest. Or you link-up with Zevran and the Dalish Archers and double your strength for the final push to the gate. This would be the battle through the heart of the horde. I mean face it, the battle once you're within the gates against the grunts - the one shot kills, disappointing. Just an idea I came up with while writing this for the most part. I'm actually working a script for Sten's return and the invasion of the Quanari. I know what I'd like to see in it. I can figure out the structural "if" logic in it - here's that scripting help I mentioned. I can create the areas and populate them, to some degree. I can write the scripts. I need to tie it all together within a single mod in the toolset. So I guess my question is: Does anybody know where to get: "The Idiots Guide to Creating DA mods with DA Toolset". -
Thanks for the input. This has happened since I first installed the game over a year ago. Prior to Awakenings, Liliana's Song, Golums and any user created mod I've added. I guess I'll just have to live with it and remember to save progress. Maybe Bioware will come up with a 1.05 patch that will resolve the issue some day.

I have them all - Awakenings, Golems of ... Witch Hunt, Liliana's Song, including several mods and add-ins from the ones available on this site. Believe it to be irrelevant, It was doing the same prior ro upgrade to 1.04 and all the additional mods. May be a glitch the tech heads at Bioware may need to figure out. Has to be something in graphics, I would think. Just need to remember to save, save, save. Still a pain. Any idea on the next Bioware upgrade patch?

I've left him alive once. Just to see. Alistair maybe a nitwit but he is a capable Templar and Warrior, and heir to the throne! No, Logain deserves to die, every time. Weather you are playing as a friend to your companions or if you're an ass to everybody and doing evil, nasty things; I don't believe Logain has a redeeming quality. The Hero of River Dane title was lost when he abandoned his duty to his king and son-in-law and left him to die at the hands of the darkspawn, even if he was right that the battle was lost. He should have spear-headed his forces right to the King and gotten him the hell out of there. Then, the SOB blames the Wardens. Not to mention - but I am going to anyway - poisoning Arl Eamon by hiring an apostate mage and putting the Templar in prison. Selling Elves into slavery and taking that no good, worthless, boot licking, nug-dung eating, piece of garbage, His Winnie-ness Arl Howe (the human noble origin is my fav) as his partner. No, no, no Logain must die. Always.

This happens in battle. Usually when my PC uses the War Cry or Holy Smite talents. Also usually when I have forgotten to save for 30 mins or so. I run DA:O 1.04 version, the latest update if I am wrong on the version number. I run a Dell XPS 420. Intel Quad @ 2.4 gig, 3.5 Gig RAM with a ATI Radion HD 2600 XT. Onboard sound. Any suggestions? Has anybody else seen this?

In one conversatioon w/ Sten he mentions liking Cookies. I was thinking that a gift of flour, sugar, salt and oats along with a recipe to make the cookies could be an inventive way to gain some approval with him and invoke a conversation perhaps - It would be a non-verbal or perhaps a impersonated voice in the conversation.

spoiler Witch Hunt... Opinions?
00bruin11 replied to Thandal's topic in Dragon Age: Origins's Discussion
Morrigan maybe a Witch but she is also a... As far as Witch Hunt. Ending sucked... Battles and storyline were decent. Didn;t like the new mystery about... I hate cliffhamgers. Especially when I here DA:2 does not pick up any of the same characters or storyline. Overall I enjoyed it, though. -
Have not used the debug cheats at all. I know Orzammar very well and hate it. I'll try the debug cheat and figure it out as I go. Thanks for the suggestion.

Greetings: I downloaded a mod that allows you to bypass the Fade and go directly to the rescue of your companions, then to the battle with the sloth demon. You get all the xp, and bonus points. The problem is Orzammar is a pain. Too much back and forth, criss crossing and too many damn caves. I dread Orzammar and always run it last. Who has the ability to figure this out? Suggesting as much as requesting. Check out the poll. Thanks, Bruin
