Whenever I try to load an exterior cell in the render window, the ground doesn't load properly. It's covered in jagged black and grey textures. Other times, there's nothing but blurry blobs that only faintly resemble the ground, and no static land objects will appear, like rocks, trees or roads-- yes, even when showing terrain. The interior cells load fine, but the landscape looks like a checker board had a seizure. If I try to load a particular wilderness cell outside of, say, Whiterun, it won't load the cell and will instead just load Whiterun. Maybe because it's the only thing it can load. Each cell looks like it's completely randomized as well, and there's no uniform design to them. Here's what it looks like: One other problem was that it randomly decided to start working (but only broke again after I loaded it back up), so I began to edit the terrain for my mod, but the changes to the terrain didn't take any effect in-game. Yes, I had saved the esp in the kit, and other changes I had made did show up. I've uninstalled the CK and reinstalled it. No dice. Since one of the mods I have is incompatible with another, I was trying to add and remove certain things to make them work together, so because I'm so obsessive, I can't play until I fix the problem, and I can't fix the problem until I fix the CK, and I couldn't fix the CK after trying everything, so I need help. The errors window goes pretty wild with messages, and this still happens even when only Skyrim.esm is loaded into Data. Again, I've already reinstalled the CK and it still happens.

I only loaded Skyrim.esm. Problem persists. As I stated in my first post, I've already reinstalled the CK, and the problem still occurred. I noticed that after trying to load only Skyrim.esm, it automatically forced a load of all DLC along with it. When I tried loading only Skyrim.esm again, it crashed. I successfully restarted it and loaded only Skyrim and Update. Problem persists. Also the errors window is going crazy.

Thanks for all of the help you've given me so far, Striker. I really appreciate you trying your best. I think I'm simply going to have to concede that the game is just one messed up POS sometimes. I lowered my view distance and turned off distant trees and buildings. I don't prefer the way this looks (and even Skyrim can run great with distant view cranked), but maybe it'll help. This has been one of the most frustrating gaming experiences for me, but I feel like I just have to bear it and get on with it. And save frequently-- like all the freaking time. I don't want to have to play the game that way, but... that's the way it is, I guess.

I used the 4 GB patch on Oblivion.exe, but I still crashed eventually. After fast traveling and trying to move down the road, as I commonly do. I ran around on horseback on all corners of the map without crashing for a while, but it still happened eventually. I haven't used the patch on DLL files yet because the readme file doesn't tell you which DLL files to patch. I'll go to the Nexus page for it again and check it out. And I was just telling my husband, too, "Hey, it hasn't crashed yet."

Thanks for telling me about the RAM patch. I'll definitely check it out. No, I'm not using Alteration. BSA Redirection is what I was using. As for what happened with the plants, it seems I might have deleted a texture but not the Mesh it's attached to. I just deleted all of the plants/trees meshes and textures from Data and reinstalled Oblivion again. Seems the problem went away. Going to fix up my existing mods so they work again, then give it another test run. If I'm still having traveling problems, I'll install the RAM Patch and cross my fingers.

In regards to a patch for my RAM, I wasn't aware those existed. Do you know of any that'll work well? I also had Improved Trees and Flora installed, and decided to remove it to see if it helped. I followed the uninstallation instructions provided and ended up with a vast sea of pink/missing grass/bush textures. So now I have to fix that somehow. Possibly will have to uninstall and reinstall Oblivion again... /headache. I moved to "center" and waited three days. That did nothing, nor did archive invalidation. This keeps getting funner and funner :P Man, this game is gonna be so great when I actually get to play it.

I fast traveled to every single stable, and no fast-traveling caused any crashes. I always ended up in the place I wanted to be and could move around. However, on my last fast travel to the Black Waterside Stables by Cheydinhal, I rode my horse into the pen and it crashed right after that. But I did several fast travels before then without any issues. Even Skingrad didn't give me trouble. And I was able to ride up to any gate and/or stable without a game crash. I'll give it a few more tests to be sure. I'll avoid going near the pen to see if that was a cause of a crash. EDIT: No crashes on fast-traveling, but eventually the game crashed when wandering down the road away from Cheydinhal. I was able to fast-travel several times before this happened. So, it seems the issue with fast-traveling is gone. Now I need to get rid of the crashes during traveling. And I guess I won't use All Natural anymore.

Okay, so. This is interesting: For once, I disabled All Natural and all its components, but I also enabled my files for Robert's body replacers, the UOPs, DLCs and nothing else. Then I stole a horse and rode the long way to Cheydinhal. No crashes. I went back down the road, turned back, and returned to the stables on horseback again. No crashes. I did it again. No crashes. I dismounted, fast traveled to Imperial City, no crashes. Fast traveled to Cheydinhal stable again. No crashes. I fast traveled back and forth several times. Nothing happened whatsoever. This again could be a fluke or a coincidence... but could it be the weather mod I was using? I'm going to go back into the game and try it all again to really make sure.

I'll give that a try next. I'll be back when I'm done.

Nope. Still crashed, same spot: at the Cheydinhal stables after fast traveling. It seems fast traveling directly into Cheydinhal is fine. Just traveling to the stable makes the game crash. And yes that is without any horse mod activated. I only had All Natural activated, and of course any texture/mesh changing mods that don't have esm or esp files. As for NPCs added by other mods, I don't have any mods that add NPCs to the game, other than the CM Partners mod-- it adds various companions to the game. I didn't have it activated during testing.
