I am re-posting this here because I had it in the mods section and got zero replies. I want to put my shield in my right hand, with a spell in the left, but the game does not allow you to do this. I roll with a sword in my right hand and a spell in the left, in certain situations I want to drop the sword for my shield, but I can't, I have to open my quick menu and swap my spell to my right hand since my sheild is on the left. All the while I'm getting beat on by something during the transtion. Very annoying. The reason I keep the spell in the left hand is because I have different spells hot-keyed and they go to your left hand first automatically The issue is with hot-keying, with the default coding in Skyrim, when you hit a hotkey it automagically (pun intended) goes to your left hand. So if I want to roll with my shield I have to hit the spell hotkey twice to assign to left hand, then right, then my shield hotkey to equip it to the left, or hit Q and manually click. I don't understand why you can't just allow shields in either hand..swords can be in either hand and have full functionality that way. I don't know much about coding, but I assume the issue here is that they had to hard code block as it's own thing to work better with a controller. It seems to me that a shield should be just like a weapon or spell, no matter what hand you have something in, using that trigger (controller) or left/right click should use that spell/shield/weapon.. Anyone know of a mod that fixes this? I would even be content with a mod that modifies the "categorized favorites menu" mod to allow the hotkeying feature to hotkey spells to whichever hand you want. So for instance if I want my right hand to be fireball, when I RIGHT click it in the menu then hit the number 2, later on when I want fire ball I hit 2 and it auto goes to my right hand. I'd be fine with this, I can just swap my layout. However it seems that's the easy way out, I want skyrim to have the functionality listed above possible.

Tiny fonts on items with enchantments

I actually had no idea it could be customized! I will try this, thank you! However if I can't customize the "printable area" for the font than it won't work. Again it's like someone grabbed the margins on microsoft word and squished them together, so the font shrinks to a super small size because it can't go past the horizontal margins either. I will attach a screenshot when I encounter this again, if the sky ui customization doesn't work. -
Does anyone know a few decent quest mods?

Actually I was just going to suggest Moonpaths to Elsewere, I just played it about a month ago and it was great, no bugs, challenging, fully voice acted, and the setting was awesome. I would highly recommend it. -

Actually I have SkyUI. I had it at the time of this post too, it didn't help. It's an issue with the game coding itself I think because I have it on the PS3 too with a 46 inch HDTV and I get the same exact issue. -
Before I get too far let me state that I have a basic understanding of the toolkit, I have created a couple custom races by blending together two different races that are currently playable, such as Khajit with a human head, etc. That is honestly pretty easy once you understand how it works. The problem I am having is using a werewolf's base for a body and adding Khajit body parts and skins. What I want to do is create a more beast-like Khajit race. I was thinking that it would be great to have a Khajit that ran on all fours like a werewolf. I started thinking about how the races look and I noticed that a real human couldn't run on all fours due to the structure of our bodies, with short arms and long legs, which is how the Khajits are designed. The characters butt would stick up in the air and they would look ridiculous. Werewolves have a different shape and long arms, so I thought I could start from there and make a "Werecat" type playable race. This is way more complicated than I thought it would be. The method I am trying to use, which is obviously wrong, is to start with a base race of werewolf, then apply Khajit body parts and skin textures. This actually almost works, however the werewolf's head disappears and the left arm while maintaing the textures from the khajit fur, is bent in half a few times and the head disappears. Now I assume that the reason for this is that all of the other playable races have separate body parts, such as, hands, torso, feet, tail, and head. So you associate them with an armor part, yada yada and you can easily make a breton with argonian body and khajit hands, etc. The Werewolves do not have the separate parts, all I see in the "armoraddon" section is the torso. I assume that this is because it's a beast that you transform into. So to rectify this I started digging around on the internet and I found that you can use the falloutmodmanager to extract the various .nif parts from the skyrimmesh.bda file. I did this, but it looks like I am basically going to have to use the extracted parts to create my own heads and individual body parts. It is not working for me, I am quite inexperienced at this. I mean I'm able to edit and change stuff that already exists, but creating custom skeletons and such, nifskope, photoshop, that's all beyond me at this point in time. Could anyone give me some pointers?

It allows you to hotkey up to nine abilities, but with the default coding in Skyrim, when you hit a hotkey it automagically (pun intended) goes to your left hand. So if I want to roll with my shield I have to hit the spell hotkey twice to assign to left then right, then my shield hotkey to shoot it over to the left, or hit Q and manually click. I don't understand why you can't just allow shields in either hand..swords can be in either hand. It seems I've run into an issue where certain items with long descriptions for the enchant will shrink the font down to where the it is unreadable. It almost looks like someone takes the text "margins" and moves them closer together, the font shrinks because the area it's printed on is not the full width of the item description box. This has happened with several items, most notably the Archmage's robes. They have a long enchant description, however if the font stretched lengthwise across the whole description box, then it wouldn't be so small I don't think. All my searches on google about this come up with font issues, mostly involving small or non widescreen televisions. I bought this on the ps3, I have a 42 inch widescreen HDTV. I had the same issue. Now I'm playing it on the PC and it just started doing this, it's a bug of some sort I think, it wasn't like that before. Any known fixes for this? I play on 1440X900 resolution, which is the native resolution for both of my monitors. I really don't think it's a resolution issue though, since everything else is perfectly fine, it's just items with long enchant descriptions.
