Hi guys, im hoping to get a quick fix to this......
basicly, ive made a mask, skinned it, looks pretty good, as always this will be a Modders Res once finished.
Im just on the texturing of said item at the moment and need some help.
( not with texturing)
I made my model by importing the new vegas male head nif - and modeled it around the head, yet I know NOTHING about making armour in game, its always scared me to be quite frank.
picknthebango has been kind enough to sort out a weapon tutorial for me, so im asking if the community can tell me whats steps to follow to get my mask in game.
It does not require weightpaint as it is a `stiff,' item, but if you could help with that it would help grately.
Also, the person who does help me with this ( e.g with the post that helps me to understand what to do......) will get to name the mask =D
( im going for raven face myself ;-) )

go into edit mode in bledner, face select,
make sure you are veiwing the item textured.
Click on a face that is showing inverted on its self, select it and press W - go down the flip normals, and flip it.
Before dismissing it, export and test in nifskope.
Other than the normals it might be because youve ont set the materials?

Baduk, If I were to make a cape, for instance, how would I go about that.
ive meshed it up and added the paint, what next, do i really need to skin and rig the thing with animations just to ensure that it does not clip? Is there not a way to add collision to clothing or something =/

For me personally,
Id say I like my mods to be more RPG orientated.
So, I choose Purpose weapons. as you say, I enjoy a good sneaking knife, but would hate trying to stab someone in the back sneakfuly with a shovel....if that makes sense.
Id have to say I do not enjoy the other kinds myself. I dont enjoy `god weapons,' and never have, Unless its for a stress reliver or something.
Rpg weapons can be ok, but sometimes I feel that they take away rather than giving to the player, a gun that increases agility because it belonged to a marathon runner does not make sense, but does indeed, fit with an rpg game, if you understand my logic.
Traps im half and half about, if it were possible to craft traps then I would be more than willing to , however, NV and f03 in general are very `go to the enemy and shoot them,' games, the enemy is not exactly hunting us down unless of course, we are playing wasteland defense.
Traps as in debuffers could be useful, but again unless it adds something I feel fits with my experience ( something as simply as renaming a health draning potion to `green acid' instead of `GLASS OF AWESOME,' is appreciated,)
Thats my two cents, and alough I have not tryed out your mod yet, Im sure I shall do in future :)

Its very easy, If youve been following the geck tutorial then its all exsplained perfectly.
As for lighing, thats a real skill. somepeople can knock out a great feel for a place using it, some people like myself SUCK at lighitng.
You might want to ask the owner of vault 100 mod if he could lend you a hand.

I think it will look 100% better if you light it propperly in the geck, but as off now, ive spent all day texturing and modeling and im spent.
Time for a new project.....I feel some walls comming on =D

Reqesting a texture tutorial on how you got the enviroment maps and spec maps and normal maps to look that fudeging fantastic!
Please tell me im going to have to work very hard to get this in game, I do not want to find this bloody lying aorund goodsprings ¬..¬
you better give me a supermutant boss fight, being outnumbers, having to complete one or two quests, Id be so disapointed if I could just.......find it.......aha

I cannot wait for this, you look like you know what your doing,
Im going to make some custom mesh's for the town tonight, just rough drafts of stuff. You dont have to use it, but I just feel inspired by the rustynes of the town.
Its looking great so far man.
Backstory wise - I can understand it and all, But how long has the town been settled there? Do you want to make it an after even of NV storyline ( I prefer those set after the end of the game). for instance, we all know new vegas like the back of our hand, so seeing this camp would make me go, it was not there before.....
I know you`l say, `there no way I could put it in before, or change the fact you know it has been added,' but, for roleplaying sake, and for the sake of some quests, why ont make a simple main quest story.
For instance;
1- player finds Coal - stopped at gate they are asked their reason for entering, the player gets directed towards the path of, what is this place.
2- player is allowed in coalstone - a usually secretive place, for some unknown reason, maybe Coal`s residents have heard about the player.
3- player is told that recently the town or followers of FSA came here after loosing a battle with another faction.
They lost many many followers and so have settled in new vegas to spread the word.
However, they have run into trouble with the local residents of the strip - The people of Coal have been using the nearby power transformer to power life support machines and have been draining electricity from the strip.
4. - The player`s main quest would be to either;
-get enough medical supplys to ensure the followers can survive without machines ( good)
- Power down the power transformer ( neutral)
- kill the followers on life support and claim they died naturaly ( bad)
doing so would have course open up the town and make it intresting,
Be asured, thats a very rough draft of a quest id like to see myself, but is just a rough idea.
Anyways I shall download tihs tommorow and see what I get inspired to make :)

As far back as I can remember, I have been modding games. My first venture was with command and conquer red alert.
Simple 2d artwork, and using notepad, those were the days. It was great, and still is.
However as more and more games became based in a 3d world, where you can be and do as you please I often wanted to create.
All in my school life I wanted to be a game designer, I wanted to oversee game creation, give the player adventures, lure them, make them excited , happy, sad. I wanted to create emotion in games the way that so many games have given emotion to me. However, during my last year of school my family got in money troubles and I had to move out ( in with my girlfriend =D ) and get a job, thus, I could not go to college and take the course I so badly wanted to take.
That was three years ago now, and how time flys.
Over that time I have played tons of games, built my gaming rig, and watched countless soppy t.v shows with my other half.
when new vegas came out I thought `Its lacking,' So I set out to learn how to mod it, I had three days off work and in that time had made an almost comlete mod (stasis) I had fun learning the new tool set, but found a lot of objects I wanted ( a sword for instance ) were not in the vanilla game.
And so, I got started on 3d modeling for the first time in my life.......
As of now, its my new hobby, I dont play games, Ive not played games for the past two weeks. Instead ive ben loving every second of modeling, joining vertexes, creating ideas, and helping out the community in whatever way I can.
you see, I might not be able to create a game that can give the players the kind of emotion I want, but I CAN create the objects so that others may one day do what I wish.

Im currently working on;
The finishing textures of a vending machine.
The vending machine is complete.
It can be customized by the user for any role!
It currently has a rusted blue paint texture, and `Allans Ammo,' stick on the front, please see below. =)

First of all, what did you do?
That will help anyone who is actually willing to help by defining what went wrong and why.

Did you edit the geck in any way?
This can happen if you edit the topics tab in quests.
To fix it, in the quest you made, open up the quest in geck, and edit it so that the quest only runs on the NPC you wish to speak the dialog.
If you did not edit the geck than im not sure what the problem is.

I will happily change the request for your project ( a door is a lot less work for me ^^ )
Sadly I do not have experience in animating, so the door will just be a door objects, that you can rotate to simulate it being open or closed. Im sorry about this, but its the best I can offer.

Hello chaos,
id love to work on your request.
Im off work for two days, so I will see what I can do.
It will be my first attempt at armour, but , it should come out looking fantastic.
Sadly I will only be able to make the armour for the standard fallout new vegas Female Model. So if your using any body mods such as type 3 this outfit wont work.

TL;DR
But you seem to be using a lot of other peoples rescources, even if you are giving them credit for their work, it just feels like this is more of a community project than your own child.
Never the less, all the best. Anymod with voice acting is a good mod in my book.......( dont quote me on that >.>)
