I have no issue's with Steam. Never have. I have been using it since 2004. Mostly because I was a big fan of HL 2 so it's always been on my machine. I have 20 or so friends I game with and we all chat back and forth in game etc. I got my Dead Money DLC via Steam along with many other games. It's actually a pretty low key app. It does track my time in game etc and I like that. Accomplishments earned etc. They run specials on games they sell. For instance this weekend Metro 2033 is selling for 9.99 all weekend. Not to shabby. I don't know, I can see why some don't care for it. I do like it a lot better than Games For Windows Live.

Who has little to no bugs to report here?
manho221 replied to leeshaw85's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
The only thing I have seen is some half underground scorps and such. Other than that not a darn thing I could find wrong with my PC version :) I have quite a few hours in so far at lvl 14. -
New playthrough -- what do you suggest?
manho221 replied to ninjafish's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
Ahh, My first trip through I was a SOB. I was heavy into speech, sneak, lockpick and explosives. I really really like a lot of points in speech. I think it opens up many things otherwise not possible. I was able to accomplish many things in game just by lying and manipulating people all the time :D I stole everything and killed everyone. I had groups of hired killers looking for me all game after I was branded as super villan (I forgot what it was in game) but they had some bad names for me, lol If people talked to me in the wrong tone they died. If they had things I wanted they died. I would take a quest to help a certain group like the ghouls and then take another quest to clear them out. I killed the overseer, the sherrif in Megaton, Moira, and numerous other main characters in the game. LOL Moira's voice got to me. She was so sweet syrup leaked out of her. I did the town a favor :D Towards the end it was tough, I could not show my face in a lot of places without getting attacked. lololo Good Times ! -
Im sorry if this has been done 100 times. I did some quick searching and came up with no old threads to bump. Im playing New Vegas right now (lvl 12) and I played F3 and all DLC content just last year when I built my new PC. After a Windows crash I did reinstall of Win 7. After getting started on New Vegas I decided to reinstall F3 with some major mods, Wanderers Edition, Marts, Beauty project and many others for a play through just for fun in my off hours of FNV. F3 is one of my favorite games of all time and I have been gaming on PC since 1994. It got me thinking about what I loved and such about the game(s) and while several moments come to mind one in particular stands out as a big belly laugh if you will. I was about level 20 in F3 and messing about with the "Rock it Launcher" I was just hanging out and stuffing things in the "que" if you will to be shot out of the gun. I wasn't paying much attention as I was in my room half watching tv at the time. I finished messing with the weapon and started questing again not thinking that I needed to switch to my primary weapon again. About 20 min goes by and Im back in the wastes. I happen upon a super mutant and he catches me by surprise. Actually I was quite startled. Without hesitation I fire my weapon at the SM. I hear a noise kind of a soft thud. I did no damage. After quickly switching weapons and finally killing the SM I start to look around to see what that noise was from the Rock It Launcher. I hit him squarely in the chest with a catchers mitt :D This amused me for days and was a defining moment for me in F3. Do you have any such moments that define your experience in F3 or that were just a good laugh at the time ???

I have one MAJOR issue with this game
manho221 replied to Elsarian's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
Ahh, I really don't think thats it. Anyone doing the torrent thing usually knows what they have to do etc. If not those things come with instructions also. Also, lets say they do DL the torrent and still can't install it due to steam. They really aren't out anything. So why come here and ask. I think more a case of some folks and I know some who are in remote areas and still on dial up or such. there are areas in upstate NY where I used to live that cable still will not service. Some of them do dial up, others do sattelite but even then they are only given X amount of time/bandwidth per month. At least thats what they told me when I asked them why they are not always around on FB and such. I dunno it may be a combo of both things :D -
So many unused radio songs

Johnny Guitar is killing me, it puts me to sleep, LOL I also know all the words to Heartache by the numbers. :D -
I would like to make a confession. I am a recovering Buffout addict. All during Fallout 3 I was taking 2 pills every 20 minutes or so. At my worst I was............entering cheat codes to get more of the dreaded drug that had such a hold on me. I had the doc cure me a couple times but......I always relapsed. It's just so great being able to carry more feel so much better all the time. It is my curse :/

I love the game (PC version). Im giving it a run without mods first like I did with F3. Then next time out I will mod the crap out of it :D just giving the community some time to really doll it up pretty then I will mod. It's a great game on it's own. I especially enjoy the wild west perk !

Steam works as others have said on different drives. Now as far as steam as an app goes I will take it any day over GFWL. Not a big fan ;)

Good observations also sir but you might want to go over the terms of service as far as posting goes because you just broke them by calling people stupid that don't share your opinion. -

Some fine and very astute observations my friend. I find myself in agreement with you. My thoughts way back when I was still in F3 was how much I would like the next game to be a continuation of the first ala Mass Effect. I would love to enter the new waste area with my bad ass character from F3. A huge undertaking no doubt but just a dream. I feel the disconnect maybe not as bad. I have always been in love with the wastes themselves it fits my personality as I have always been a loner. I am enjoying the game for sure. I just feel like Im repeating the building of my toon and that is somewhat frustrating. It's like I know exactly what I want and i already had it. -
I feel like I'm punished for exploring...
manho221 replied to brandonb1218's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
I really don't have problems exploring. I chose a female character this time and I always go heavy on speech. That being said I think I would have problems but what I do early on is spend some significant points in guns early on. Less wasted ammo, more accurate shots, better results. If your going exploring at an early stage you have to prepare somehow. I have also used the binoculars I got "preorder" thing and scouted ahead. I take a wide swing on stuff I want to avoid. Next thing is pay attention to what they tell you in game. If they say it's bad that way I will wait a little. Another tactic was that I used the incinerator to get them burning before I started shooting at them. Dynamite was also a good tool as I had a lot and it does damage. It was also handy for setting off mines as I had no explosive skill and they are almost impossible to disarm without some skill level. Keep moving and don't take damage in face to face unless your melee of course. Im lvl 6 and I picked up the early quests but ended up not doing most of them till just yesterday opting to head to Primm and quest over in that area at levels 2-5. It worked out ok. I like to do that to see if how the game reacts to me missing main story lines early on the coming back to them. LOL Now, anyone get an apartment yet ? I desprately need a storage depot , lol -
Any penalty in taking the 'Wild Wasteland' trait?
manho221 replied to blaster395's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
I took the perk also and for the first few times I didn't realize what the little pip notification was, lol It's all good I now realize when I see that and hear the kooky music Im getting some perkage. I like it, glad I chose.
